Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between coping with stress, Fear of Missing Out (FoMO), and Joy of Missing Out (JoMO) among adolescents. Using a quantitative correlational approach, the research involved 100 students aged 15–18 years from SMK CORDOVA, selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected using validated Likert-scale instruments measuring FoMO, JoMO, and coping stress. Data analysis included descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, and multiple regression analysis. Results showed that FoMO and JoMO significantly predict coping stress (R = 0.698, R² = 0.487, p < 0.01), with FoMO exhibiting a negative correlation (r = -0.522, p < 0.01) and JoMO a positive correlation (r = 0.436, p < 0.01) with coping stress. These findings indicate that FoMO has a negative relationship with coping stress, while JoMO has a positive relationship with coping stress. So, it can be concluded that the higher the FoMO in adolescents, the worse it will be in coping with stress. And vice versa, the higher the JoMO, the better the ability to cope with stress.

Abstract

Hypertension is a chronic disease that serves as a major cause of serious complications such as stroke and heart disease. A common issue faced in managing hypertension is the lack of patient adherence to treatment and health monitoring. To address this challenge, a mobile application was developed specifically to assist hypertensive patients in monitoring their blood pressure, participating in peer group chats, and accessing health education. The app design process began with the creation of a wireframe as an initial visual representation of the app’s interface and user flow. The development method used was Design Thinking, which consists of five stages: empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test. Through these stages, observations and interviews were conducted with hypertensive patients to explore their needs and challenges. Based on these findings, a wireframe was developed and tested with users to gather feedback. Evaluation results showed that the wireframe successfully met user needs, particularly in terms of ease of use, informative design, and features relevant to their health condition. Therefore, the Design Thinking approach proved effective in designing technology-based solutions that align with the needs of individuals living with hypertension.

Abstract

Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a clinical condition caused by metabolic or pathological damage to the kidneys, characterized by a rapid and significant decline in kidney function along with elevated azotemia levels. This study aimed to analyze the occurrence of AKI due to the impact of drug therapy based on Drug Related Problems (DRPs) as categorized by the Pharmaceutical Care Network Europe (PCNE) in inpatients at Dr. Moewardi General Hospital in 2022. It also aimed to determine the effect of drug therapy on reducing leukocyte and urinary bacteria counts, as well as urea and creatinine levels in patients with infections not undergoing hemodialysis. This was a descriptive, non-experimental study using retrospective qualitative and quantitative methods. Quantitative data were analyzed using linear regression and paired sample t-test, while qualitative data were analyzed using the PCNE DRP classification. The study involved data from 10 patients diagnosed with AKI and infection without hemodialysis, with 18 DRP events identified. The analysis of drug therapy using the PCNE DRP framework showed an influence on kidney function, as several patients who were not initially diagnosed with AKI had elevated urea and creatinine levels upon examination, leading to an AKI diagnosis. However, the therapy given to these 10 patients was not optimal in addressing AKI. The analysis concluded that the drug therapy, although appropriate in its administration, did not significantly impact the reduction of leukocytes, urinary bacteria, or urea and creatinine levels, indicating that the therapeutic outcomes did not meet the expected results.

Abstract

Code-mixing is a common linguistic phenomenon in buying and selling interactions, including those in Anyar Market, Bayan Subdistrict. This study aims to identify the forms of code-mixing and the factors influencing its occurrence in conversations between sellers and buyers in the market. The data collection techniques used were observation, the listening method, note-taking, and documentation. Data analysis employed the Miles and Huberman qualitative model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results show that code-mixing is commonly used, especially by sellers as a communication strategy. The most dominant type is inner code-mixing, which involves the combination of Indonesian and the Sasak language. In addition, outer code-mixing was also found, involving a mix of Sasak with English and Arabic, although in smaller numbers. The forms of code-mixing identified include words, phrases, word repetitions, and clauses. The factors influencing the use of code-mixing include: (1) the interlocutor and the setting of the conversation, (2) habitual language use, (3) the use of popular terms, and (4) the functions and purposes of the communication.

Abstract

Sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas L.) is a type of cultivated plant whose roots form tubers with high nutritional content, especially carbohydrates. This study aimed to identify the presence of leaf-damaging insects during the growth of sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas L.). The research used an experimental method and was designed using a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) consisting of 6 sweet potato cultivar treatments (KUJ), namely Lato-lato (KUJ1), Cilembu (KUJ2), Thailand (KUJ3), Kentang (KUJ4), Ase (KUJ5), and Purple (KUJ6). Each treatment was repeated 4 times, resulting in 24 experimental units. The results of the study revealed the presence of six leaf-damaging insects: whiteflies, grasshoppers, leafrollers, armyworms, tortoise beetles, and leafminers. The leafroller was the most dominant pest, showing a significant population surge, especially in the 9th week after planting (9 WAP), particularly on the Ase cultivar. Afterwards, its population declined significantly in the 11th week after planting (11 WAP). The KUJ6 (Purple) treatment had the highest diversity index at 1.10. KUJ6 (Purple) also had the highest evenness value at 0.62, while the highest dominance value, 0.28, was found in the KUJ4 (Kentang) treatment.

Abstract

Internal migration among coastal communities is often viewed purely through an economic lens. In contrast, in reality, it involves complex social, cultural, and institutional dimensions that shape the formation of migrant communities. The Butonese fishing community on Derawan Island, Berau Regency, exemplifies how migration creates new social spaces rich in meaning, identity negotiation, and structural tensions. This study analyzes the migration process of Butonese fishers to Derawan Island. It explores how they establish a new community through social adaptation and the reproduction of cultural values, while also identifying structural challenges in integrating with local systems. Using a qualitative ethnographic approach through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and oral history documentation across five coastal villages, the study draws on Pierre Bourdieu’s theory of cultural capital, Fredrik Barth’s theory of ethnic boundaries, and Henri Lefebvre’s theory of the production of space. Findings indicate that migration occurred gradually through social networks, driven by ecological pressures, cultural values surrounding migration, and the desire to build a more stable livelihood. The Butonese community reproduces its social structure through collective labor, informal authority, and the creation of symbolic spaces known as the “Buton Group.” Despite achieving internal cohesion, they continue to face structural obstacles, including limited access to land legality, administrative recognition, and formal empowerment programs. This research underscores the need to understand coastal migration not merely as an economic or demographic movement, but as a socially embedded process involving identity, power, and spatial transformation.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a Montessori-based arithmetic operation book media to improve basic mathematical understanding in early childhood, especially grade B students at Aisyah Rahman Kindergarten. The background of this study is the low basic arithmetic ability of children caused by the use of conventional learning media such as worksheets and whiteboards that are less suitable for the learning characteristics of early childhood. Children at this stage learn through concrete activities, play, and manipulatives, so learning media that can facilitate these needs are needed. The research method used is the ADDIE development model which consists of five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The study was conducted at Aisyah Rahman Kindergarten with 25 students in group B as research subjects. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews, documentation, and tests of understanding basic mathematical concepts (pretest and posttest). The results of the study showed that the Montessori-based arithmetic operation book media developed was assessed as very feasible in terms of content, design, and usability by experts. The implementation of media in learning showed a significant increase in students' mathematical comprehension scores, with an average pretest score of 54.2 and an increase to 84.8 in the posttest. This media encourages students' active involvement in learning and facilitates them in understanding mathematical concepts concretely through a discovery learning approach. Thus, this Montessori-based arithmetic operations book media is effective as an alternative learning medium to improve basic mathematical skills in early childhood and is in line with the characteristics of their cognitive development.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Fear of Missing Out (FOMO), Brand Image, and Influencer Marketing on the purchasing decisions of Glad2glow skincare products among students of the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Technology Sumbawa. The rapid growth of the skincare industry is driven by lifestyle changes among the younger generation and the increasing role of social media as a primary tool in digital marketing. As part of the digital native generation, students are highly responsive to beauty trends influenced by social anxiety (FOMO), brand perception, and influencer recommendations. Using a quantitative survey method with multiple linear regression analysis on a sample of 100 respondents, the results show that all three variables, FOMO, Brand Image, and Influencer Marketing, have a positive and significant impact on purchasing decisions, with Influencer Marketing being the most dominant factor. These findings highlight the importance for skincare businesses and digital marketers to develop strategies that harness the power of FOMO, establish a strong brand image, and effectively utilize influencers to enhance customer loyalty and sales conversions within the student market segment, while also contributing to the theoretical development of digital marketing literature in the era of digital transformation.

Abstract

Puberty in adolescent girls is typically marked by the onset of menstruation, with the menstrual cycle defined as the interval from the first day of one period to the first day of the next. For some adolescents, this cycle may be irregular. Factors suspected to influence cycle regularity include nutritional status, physical activity, stress levels, and age at menarche. In response to this issue, a study was conducted to evaluate whether there is a relationship between nutritional status and physical activity with menstrual cycle regularity in adolescent girls. This study employed a quantitative approach using a correlational method and a cross-sectional research design. The sample consisted of 57 tenth-grade students from SMAN Colomadu selected randomly. Data analysis revealed no significant relationship between nutritional status and menstrual cycle regularity, with a p-value of 0.233. Similarly, physical activity did not show a meaningful association with cycle regularity, indicated by a p-value of 0.055. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that among tenth-grade students at SMAN Colomadu, nutritional status and physical activity do not have a significant impact on menstrual cycle regularity.
