Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relevance of the hermeneutic approach in interpreting the Qur'an and Hadith in the contemporary era by formulating a contextual interpretive framework. This research employs a qualitative approach through conceptual library research, examining classical and contemporary literature on hermeneutics in Islamic studies. The findings reveal that the hermeneutic approach operates through three main analytical dimensions: (1) reconstruction of the historical context of the text (historicity), (2) critical engagement of the reader’s socio-cultural context, and (3) a dialogical process between text, authorial intent, and present realities. These dimensions produce a contextual interpretive model that distinguishes between universal ethical principles (maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah) and context-bound legal formulations. Furthermore, the study identifies that the practical relevance of hermeneutics lies in its ability to reinterpret issues such as social justice, gender relations, and technological ethics within an Islamic framework without negating textual authority. Thus, hermeneutics does not replace classical exegesis but complements it by offering a systematic and adaptive methodological framework that enhances the responsiveness of Islamic teachings to contemporary challenges.

Abstract

Curriculum reform in Indonesia, notably the Merdeka Curriculum, has introduced explicit language proficiency levels benchmarked against the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). This article undertakes a critical narrative literature review to analyze how English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teachers in Indonesian contexts interpret and implement these policy-mandated curriculum levels. Findings demonstrate a significant policy-to-practice gap, primarily characterized by high conceptual inconsistency regarding CEFR descriptors and a compulsory process of contextual adaptation necessary due to profound classroom constraints. The analysis reveals three systemic deficits: insufficient, non-contextualized professional development (PD); scarcity of resources compounded by teacher competency gaps; and an inherent tension between mandated policy fidelity and professional pedagogical autonomy. The article concludes that teacher interpretation constitutes a vital, non-linear adaptive professional mechanism that translates abstract policy into locally relevant pedagogy. This necessitates that future policy design formally recognizes and empower this essential teacher agency to ensure sustainable and equitable curriculum implementation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of native speaker video based pre-while- and post viewing stages in improving students’ Arabic speaking skills. The research employed a Classroom Action Research design conducted in two cycles involving seventh-grade students of MTs Sadamiyah Jepara. Data were collected through observation, oral tests, and student perception questionnaires. The results revealed a significant improvement in the mean score from 58.3 in Cycle I to 86.2 in Cycle II. All speaking aspects pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension showed substantial progress. The N-Gain score of 0.67 indicates a moderate-to-high level of effectiveness. The findings suggest that pedagogically structured native speaker videos, supported by vocabulary reinforcement, significantly enhance students’ speaking competence and classroom engagement.

Abstract

This study examines the criminological aspects of women's involvement in narcotics crimes. The increasing circulation and abuse of narcotics in Indonesia has become a serious social and legal problem, with women increasingly found to be involved in such criminal activities. This research aims to analyze the forms of women's involvement in narcotics crimes, the factors that cause such involvement, and the efforts that can be undertaken to address this issue. The research uses a normative juridical method, focusing on the analysis of legal norms, legislation, and relevant literature related to narcotics crimes. The study employs statutory, conceptual, and case approaches, with legal materials systematically analyzed through qualitative descriptive analysis, legal interpretation, and comparative legal reasoning to examine provisions and criminological perspectives regarding women's participation in narcotics-related offenses. The findings indicate that women's involvement in narcotics crimes is influenced by various interconnected factors, including economic pressure, social environment, low educational background, and psychological factors such as curiosity and social influence. In many cases, women are also exploited by organized criminal networks and used as couriers because they are considered less suspicious by law enforcement authorities. Therefore, effective countermeasures require comprehensive strategies that combine preventive and repressive approaches, including stronger law enforcement, improved public awareness, and social and economic empowerment programs for women to reduce their vulnerability to involvement in narcotics crimes.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the integration of Human Resource Management (HRM) in global human resource development based on the human capital perspective and digital transformation. The study addresses the gap between classical HRM approaches and the contemporary demands of global competitiveness in the digital era. This research employs a qualitative approach through library research, utilizing content analysis and conceptual synthesis to systematically examine academic literature, including books, journal articles, and policy documents related to HRM and global human resource development. The findings reveal a conceptual integration model that connects strategic HRM, human capital development, and digital transformation within a unified framework. This model emphasizes three key dimensions: (1) strategic alignment of HRM with organizational goals, (2) continuous development of human capital through talent management and competency building, and (3) digital integration through HR analytics, e-learning, and data-driven decision-making. The study demonstrates that this integrative framework enhances cross-cultural competence, innovation capacity, and organizational adaptability in the global environment. In conclusion, the integration of strategic HRM, human capital, and digital transformation forms a systematic and adaptive theoretical framework for developing competitive global human resources in the modern era.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between visual learning style and students’ interest in Islamic Religious and Character Education among tenth-grade students at SMA Negeri 17 Bandar Lampung. It was hypothesized that students with a stronger visual learning style would demonstrate higher interest in learning. The research employed a quantitative correlational design using the ex-post facto method. The population consisted of 120 students, with 54 selected as the sample. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire tested for validity and reliability. Cronbach’s Alpha values were 0.769 for visual learning style and 0.716 for learning interest, indicating reliable instruments. Data analysis included prerequisite tests, correlation, and simple regression. Results showed a positive and significant relationship, with a correlation coefficient of 0.461 and significance value of 0.010. The coefficient of determination of 0.212 indicates that visual learning style contributes 21.2% to students’ learning interest in Islamic Religious and Character Education context.

Abstract

Unhealthy snack consumption among adolescents is often associated with low nutritional knowledge. Interactive learning media such as game cards are considered effective in enhancing engagement and learning outcomes. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of game card–based nutrition education in improving adolescents’ knowledge and attitudes toward healthy snack selection at SMPN 2 Gedangan. A quasi-experimental two-group pretest–posttest design was employed involving 74 students aged 13–15 years. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test and N-gain analysis. The results showed that improvements in knowledge and attitudes were higher in the experimental group compared to the control group. Knowledge improvement reached borderline significance (p = 0.050), while attitudes improved significantly (p = 0.001). N-gain results indicated moderate effectiveness for knowledge (63%) and high effectiveness for attitudes (78.90%). These findings suggest that game card–based education is effective, particularly in improving adolescents’ attitudes toward healthy snack selection.
