Abstract

This study aimed to produce and determine the feasibility of contextual learning video on course of Administration Education Research Methodology. The research method was research and development of ADDIE model. The stages of this research and development consisted of Analysis, Design, and Development. The data collection techniques in analysis stage were interview and observation, while questionnaire was used in development stage. Data collection instruments were inventory questionnaires with rating scales. Data analysis technique was descriptive analysis with quantitative and descriptive approaches. Descriptive techniques were used to analyze the results of problems and learning components of Office Administration Education Research Methodology. Quantitative techniques were used to analyze data from experts. Validation of developed contextual learning media involved media expert and material expert. The conclusions of the particular study are: 1) this study has produced a contextual learning video on course of Administration Education Research Methodology with material of research proposal in topic of Introduction; 2) according to the assessment of media experts and material experts, the developed learning video has a criteria of very feasible.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze students' readiness for careers out of their professions by considering the effect of locus of control and socioeconomic status. Career maturity acted as the variable intervening. The quantitative method was chosen to test the hypothesis. A total of 80 students were selected to be respondents based on purposive sampling. Model testing was done by using PLS-SEM. The findings of this study found that the locus of control influenced student career readiness. Conversely, socioeconomic status had no significant effect on their career readiness. On the other hand, this study's career maturity partially mediates between locus of control and career readiness. Regarding the effect of socioeconomic status on career readiness, career maturity in this study was known to have a role as an explanatory or predictor. This study concluded that if students wanted to improve their career readiness, they should pay attention to the locus of control and achieve career success. This study's results contribute to institutions, educators, students, and counselling, informing that individual career maturity is an effective way to facilitate students' readiness in their career decision-making process. Future studies should adopt essential variables related to career readiness that is not examined in this study.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan pembelajaran kooperatif model STAD dan Jigsaw terhadap karakter kerja sama, kemampuan berpikir kritis, dan hasil belajar kognitif; serta model pembelajaran kooperatif yang lebih berpengaruh antara STAD dan Jigsaw. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu dengan desain nonequivalent control group design. Subjek penelitiannya yaitu seluruh siswa kelas IV SDN pelaksana Kurikulum 2013 di Kecamatan Magelang Utara Kota Magelang yang berjumlah 196 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu pedoman observasi, angket, soal uraian, dan soal isian. Analisis data yang digunakan yaitu uji Hotteling’s Trace MANOVA dan independent sample t-test dengan kriteria Ho ditolak jika nilai signifikansi α (0,05). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan penggunaan pembelajaran kooperatif model STAD dan Jigsaw terhadap karakter kerja sama, kemampuan berpikir kritis, dan hasil belajar kognitif; serta penggunaan pembelajaran kooperatif Jigsaw lebih berpengaruh secara positif dan signifikan daripada penggunaan pembelajaran kooperatif STAD. Kata kunci:    pembelajaran kooperatif, STAD, Jigsaw, karakter kerja sama, berpikir kritis, hasil belajar kognitif  THE EFFECTS OF STAD AND JIGSAW MODEL ON COOPERATION  CHARACTER,CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS, AND COGNITIVE ACHIEVEMENTS  Abstract: This study aims to reveal the effect of the use of STAD and Jigsaw Model of cooperative learning on cooperation character, critical thinking skills, and cognitive achievements; and cooperative learning model has more effect between STAD and Jigsaw. This study is quasi-experimental research with nonequivalent control group design. The subjects were all grade four students of public primary schools implementing the 2013 Curriculum in the District of North Magelang, Magelang City totaled to 196 students. Data were collected by using an observation guide, quesionnaire, essay test, and closed test. Data were analyzed by using Hotteling’s Trace MANOVA and independent t-test with a significance level of 0.05. The study reveals that: the use of STAD and Jigsaw Model of cooperative learning take positive and significant effect on cooperation character, critical thinking skills, and cognitive achievements; and the use of Jigsaw of cooperative learning has more positive and significant effect than the use of STAD. Keywords:       cooperative learning, STAD, Jigsaw, character of cooperation, critical thinking, cognitive achievements.

Abstract

Abstract University students are specific group of educated community; and therefore have a better way in thinking and responding the stimuli coming to them. They are relatively free from vested interests so that their thinking system and attitude toward community and state problems are usually objectives. The same attitude also appears when they are faced with gender problems especially female leaderships. The subjects of this study are the students of the State University of Yogyakarta (UNY). This research aims at revealing the UNY students’ attitude (which is shaped through educational process) toward female leaderships. The findings of the research show that: (1) more than 60% the students have positive attitude toward female leadership (2) more than 60% of the students believe that women will  be successful in leading an organization if they are given the opportunity to do the job (3) more than  60% students believe that managerial skills are more important than sexes in determining the success of a leader (4) more than 60% of the students have the opinion that to be a successful woman leader, one should graduate from a senior high school or a higher educational institute (5) more than 60% of the students agree on the appointment of a women as a state leader (7) the students acceptance of a female leader is not significantly affected by her gender or religion. Abstract

Salah satu faktor penting yang ikut menentukan tercapaitidaknya tujuan sekolah adalah pengelolaan sekolah yang bersangkutan, berupa penerapan sejumlah prinsip dasar organisasi yang meliputi: penentuan visi, misi, dan tujuan sekolah, penentuan struktur organisasi atau pola kerjasama, pembagian kerja, koordinasi, kelancaran komunikasi, proses pengambilan keputusan, dan penjaminan sustainabilitas atau kelangsunganhidup organisasi.Faktor lain yang juga ikut menentukan kinerja sebuah sekolah adalah faktor manusia yang terlibat di dalamnya yang biasa disebut sebagai warga sekoJah. Setiap warga sekolah memiliki harapan­harapan dan tujuan tertentu yang berakibat pada perbedaan tingkah laku dan kinerja yang mereka tunjukkan. Perbedaan tersebut dlsebabkan oleh perbedaan faktor internal masing-masing individu dan lingkungan yang dihadapi. Faktor internal terkait dengan persepsi, sikap, nilai, motivasi, dan kepribadian masing-masing; sedangkan Iingkungan terdiri dari lingkungan fisik dan sosial di mana seseorang berada. Kepala sekolah perlu memahami perilaku warga sekolah agar dapat mengoptimalkan perannya dalam mencapai tuluon sekolah.Kata Kunci: pengelolaan, kinerja, organisasi

Abstract

Lembaga pendidikan (sekolah) merupakan organisasi yang lebih berorientasi pada layanan sosial kemasyarakatan. Sebagai sebuah organisasi, sekolah melibatkan banyak komponen (baik internal maupun ekstenral), sehingga setiap sekolah memiliki tingkat kompleksitas yang tinggi. Kondisi ini menuntut diterapkannya model pengelolaan yang komprehensif. Sekolah tidak saja dituntut mampu menjadikan dirinya sebagai sebuah lembaga yang sehat tetapi juga harus mampu mengakomodasi semua kepentingan stakeholder.

Abstract

The study was aimed to find out the perception of students, lectures, and management on: 1) the implementation of lecturer exchange program between four universities, 2) the constraints against in the program implementation, and 3) the perspective of the collaborative program in the future. The study was conducted in the Faculty of Social Sciences and EconomiC, Yogyakarta State University in the 2005/2006 academic year.· The study was an evaluation research intended to evaluate the implementation of collaborative program especially lecturer exchange between four universities (FISE UNY, FIS UNNES, FIS UNESA, and FKIP UNS). Data were collected using questionaire given to the students, lectures, and management of the collaborative program in the Faculty of Social Sciences and Economic, YSU (the dean and his staffs and the head of study program). The results of the study. were: most of students perception on the program were positive, they took something useful and valuable from the implementation of the program, and their knowledge and competencies were increased. Lecturers involves in the program feel that the program was effectively conducted since it increased the quality of teaching-learning process and their professionalism. That is why they proposed to continue the implementation of the program in the future. The other interesting result was the intention to implement the program collaborative to the broader area such as textbook writing, teaching model development, and collaborative research. The constraints against the implementationof the program were lack of funds and problems in matching schedule between lecturers from other universities.

Abstract

Sebagian sarana untuk mencapai tujuan kelompok, organisasi, dan manajemen harus dimanfaatkan secara optimal. Selama ini pihak-pihak yang terlibat dalam organisasi sering kurang menyadari perannya masing-masing sehingga tidak mampu memberikan sumbangan optimal bagi pencapaian tujuan organisasi. Pimpinan kurang menyadari posisinya sebagai pihak yang bertanggungjawab atas seluruh kegiatan organisasi, sementara bawahan kurang menyadari peran apa yang harus dimainkan sesuai kedudukannya masing-masing. Upaya untuk memperbaiki keadaan tersebut dapat dilakukan dengan memberikan pemahaman yang lebih baik kepada semua pihak tentang berbagai hal prinsip dalam berorganisasi yang bukan saja harus mereka ketahui tetapi juga harus mereka laksanakan. Hal-hal yang dipandang perlu diketahui tersebut antar lain mencakup: prinsip-prinsip dasar organisasi dan menajemen, pengembangan organisasi, dan kepemimpinan. Sejalan dengan perkembangan dan dinamika masyarakat, maka kebutuhan untuk senantiasa mengkaji dan memahami kembali hal-hal yang terkait dengan praktik organisasi dan manajemen menjadi kebutuhan yang tidak dihindari.

Abstract

Salah satu persoalan yang dihadapi bangsa Indonesia dalam menata kehidupan bermasyarakat, berbangsa, dan bernegara adalah lemahnya penyelenggaraan administrasi dalam berbagai sektor yang ada. Penyebabnya dapat beragam, diantaranya adalah kesalahan persepsi masyarakat terhadap konsep dan peran administrasi dalam sebuah organisasi dan lemahnya penerapan berbagai aturan yang sudah dibuat.  Kelemahan penyelenggaraan administrasi tersebut membuka peluang bagi munculnya perilaku menyimpang dan kontra produktif bagi anggota yang berakibat pada rendahnya efisiensi dan efektivitas organisasi. Perilaku negatif tersebut dapat dikurangi bahkan dihilangkan jika penyelenggaraan administrasi berlangsung secara tertib, benar, akuntabel, dan transparan. Untuk itu diperlukan upaya terprogram dan terus menerus untuk memahamkan masyarakat dan meluruskan implementasi prinsip-prinsip administrasi dalam setiap organisasi. Karena praktik administrasi pada dasarnya berlangsung pada semua level dan sektor kehidupan manusia, mulai dari keluarga, sekolah, sampai masyarakat, maka pemahaman dan penerapan prinsip administrasi dengan benar harus dimulai dari level keluarga. Pada tataran pendidikan formal, pengenalan terhadap praktik administrasi yang benar harus dimulai dari level pendidikan anak usia dini. Jika kondisi tertib administrasi sudah terwujud pada semua bidang kehidupan maka dapat diharapkan akan tebentuk pula perilaku dan karakter anggota masyarakat yang positif.
