Jurnal Educative: Journal of Educational Studies presents research and development in the field of education, with special reference to curriculum and learning, management, technology, sociology, anthropology, psychology, language, and Islamic education. The language used in this journal are Indonesian and English. Abstract

Preventing corruption through education programs is considered beneficial to the current efforts to curb corruption in Indonesian government sector. The present study explores how an anti-corruption educational program in a government-affiliated academy can influence the academy’s graduates. Three graduates of the academy who have worked in the government sector participated in this research. This qualitative study conducted semi-structured interviews with each participant. Kirkpatrick’s four-level evaluation model was used as the theoretical basis for assessing the impact of learning result in behavioural changing in the workplace. The findings of this study provide evidence that the anti-corruption program is positively linked to positive behaviour promoting anti-corruption values in the workplace. The participants perceived that the program helped them to develop a better understanding of the existing rules and regulations pertaining to corruption, changed their paradigm about corruption, and equipped them with the ability to be agents of change within the organisation.Pencegahan korupsi melalui program pendidikan dipandang bermanfaat dalam upaya pemberantasan korupsi di sektor pemerintahan Indonesia saat ini. Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi bagaimana program pendidikan antikorupsi di sekolah kedinasan yang berafiliasi dengan pemerintah dapat mempengaruhi alumni instansi pendidikan tersebut. Tiga alumni yang bekerja di sektor pemerintahan berpartisipasi dalam penelitian ini. Penelitian kualitatif ini melakukan wawancara semi terstruktur kepada masing-masing partisipan. Model evaluasi empat tingkat Kirkpatrick digunakan sebagai landasan teori untuk menilai dampak hasil pembelajaran terhadap perubahan perilaku di tempat kerja. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa program antikorupsi berhubungan positif dengan perilaku positif yang mempromosikan nilai-nilai antikorupsi di tempat kerja. Para peserta menyatakan bahwa program tersebut membantu mereka mengembangkan pemahaman yang lebih baik mengenai peraturan dan perundang-undangan terkait anti korupsi, memperluas paradigma mereka tentang korupsi, dan membekali mereka dengan kemampuan untuk menjadi agen perubahan dalam organisasi.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe (1) the essence of instructional leadership in change management in educational institutions and (2) the change process in an elementary school during the unfreezing, movement, and refreezing stages to enhance the teaching capabilities of a teacher at SD Negeri Wonokerto 04. The research method used is qualitative, using a phenomenological approach with a case study design at SD Negeri Wonokerto 04, Malang Regency. The data were collected using three techniques: in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentary study. The analysis technique used is single-case analysis. To ensure data validity, the researcher performed triangulation, member checking, prolonged observation, and reference material adequacy activities. The results of this study indicate that instructional leadership plays a role as a controller in the change process. The micro-educational institution's change process in enhancing the teaching capabilities of teachers follows Kurt Lewin's change model, which consists of three phases: a) the unfreezing process using symposiums and "Kultin" (Routine Spiritual Sessions); b) the movement process using a workshop and the formation of an assistant team consisting of fresh graduate teachers; and c) the refreezing process carried out through collaborative workshops with SD Negeri Wonokerto 01 and the initiation of meta-learning.Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendiskripsikan tentang: (1) esensi instructional leadership dalam manajemen perubahan pada lembaga pendidikan; (2) proses perubahan sebuah SD saat proses unfreezing, movement dan refreezing dalam peningkatan kapabilitas mengajar seorang guru SDN Wonokerto 04. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu kualitatif melalui pendekatan fenomenologi dengan rancangan studi kasus di Sekolah Dasar Negeri Wonokerto 04, Kabupaten Malang. Data yang dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan 3 teknik, yaitu: wawancara mendalam, observasi peran serta, dan studi dokumentasi. Teknik analisis yang digunakan yaitu analisis kasus tunggal. Untuk memperoleh keabsahaan data, peneliti melakukan kegiatan triangulasi, pengecekan anggota, ketekunan pengamatan, dan kecukupan bahan referensi. Hasil dalam penelitian ini adalah instructional leadership mengambil peran sebagai pengendali proses perubahan dan proses perubahan sebuah lembaga mikro pendidikan dalam peningkatan kapabilitas mengajar guru yang mengacu pada teori perubahan model Kurt Lewin yang terdiri dari tiga fase, yaitu a) proses unfreezing menggunakan simposium dan Kultin (Kultum Rutin); b) proses movement menggunakan sebuah workshop dan pembentukan tim pembantu dari guru fresh graduate; dan c) proses refreezing dilaksanakan dengan workshop kolaborasi bersama SD Negeri Wonokerto 01 dan inisiasi meta learning

Abstract

The increasingly complex digital era requires a deeper comprehension of cybersecurity threats, particularly in educational settings. The imperative to establish an interactive and adaptive learning environment, responsive to technological advancements, makes the adoption of gamification elements as an innovative method to heighten student involvement and deliver crucial knowledge in the context of cybersecurity. To tackle these challenges, this research outlines the cause-and-effect relationships, focusing on the connection between the evolution of cybersecurity knowledge areas and gamification elements found in earlier literature. By specifying the components of the CIA Triad—Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability—this study establishes a strong foundation for investigating how gamification elements can harmonize with the cybersecurity requirements in this digital era. The research utilizes a systematic literature review method based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, the research identifies 13 Google Scholar-indexed articles published between 2018 and 2023. These findings reveal a correlation between gamification elements and the CIA Triad aspects, along with Venn diagrams in recent cyber threats and attacks. This offers a foundation for the development of more potent pedagogical approaches in delivering cybersecurity materials to the generation maturing in this digital era.Era digital yang semakin kompleks menuntut pemahaman yang lebih mendalam terhadap ancaman keamanan siber, khususnya di lingkungan pendidikan. Adapun kebutuhan untuk menciptakan lingkungan pembelajaran yang menarik dan responsif terhadap perkembangan teknologi informasi mendorong penerapan elemen-elemen gamifikasi sebagai metode inovatif yang dapat meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa dan menyampaikan pengetahuan krusial dalam konteks keamanan siber.  Dalam rangka mengatasi tantangan ini, penelitian ini menjelaskan secara rinci pola sebab dan akibat, dengan fokus pada korelasi antara pengembangan area wawasan keamanan siber dengan elemen-elemen gamifikasi dalam literatur terdahulu. Dengan merinci aspek-aspek CIA Triad, yakni Confidentiality, Integrity, dan Availability, penelitian ini menciptakan dasar yang kuat untuk mengeksplorasi bagaimana elemen-elemen gamifikasi dapat menyelaraskan diri dengan kebutuhan keamanan siber di era digital ini. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode systematic literature review berdasarkan kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi, menghasilkan 13 artikel terindeks Google Scholar yang diterbitkan di tahun 2018-2023. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya korelasi antara elemen-elemen gamifikasi dan aspek CIA Triad, serta diagram venn yang mengilustrasikan kesesuaian elemen gamifikasi dengan aspek CIA Triad pada ancaman dan serangan siber terbaru sehingga dapat memberikan landasan untuk pengembangan pedagogi yang lebih efektif dalam menyampaikan materi keamanan siber kepada generasi yang tumbuh dalam era digital ini.

Abstract

This paper explores the impact of OpenAI's ChatGPT on personalized learning in higher education during the VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, Ambiguity) era. It investigates how ChatGPT can improve individualized learning to tackle VUCA challenges in higher education. Although previous studies have noted AI's potential in education, there's limited in-depth research on ChatGPT's role in personalized learning. This study stands out by providing new insights into the intersection of AI and higher education pedagogy through a theoretical analysis based on primary and secondary data sources, including academic literature and case studies. Key findings show that ChatGPT's advanced language capabilities can create personalized learning environments, addressing VUCA challenges. It suggests that AI tools like ChatGPT are crucial for pedagogical innovation and student engagement, marking a significant shift in education where traditional methods meet technological advancements. These findings have important implications for educators, policymakers, and AI developers, highlighting the need to integrate AI tools like ChatGPT in higher education curricula to improve teaching and learning experiences, and prepare students for a dynamic world. The paper concludes by urging further academic research to explore the broader implications of AI in education and address the challenges of this transformative process.Makalah ini mengeksplorasi dampak ChatGPT dari OpenAI terhadap pembelajaran personalisasi dalam pendidikan tinggi di era VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, Ambiguity). Makalah ini menyelidiki bagaimana ChatGPT dapat meningkatkan pembelajaran individual untuk mengatasi tantangan VUCA dalam pendidikan tinggi. Meskipun studi sebelumnya telah mencatat potensi AI dalam pendidikan, penelitian mendalam mengenai peran ChatGPT dalam pembelajaran personalisasi masih terbatas. Studi ini menonjol dengan memberikan wawasan baru tentang persinggungan AI dan pedagogi pendidikan tinggi melalui analisis teoritis berdasarkan sumber data primer dan sekunder, termasuk literatur akademik dan studi kasus. Temuan utama menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan bahasa canggih ChatGPT dapat menciptakan lingkungan pembelajaran yang personalisasi, menangani tantangan VUCA. Makalah ini menyarankan bahwa alat AI seperti ChatGPT sangat penting untuk inovasi pedagogi dan keterlibatan siswa, menandai pergeseran penting dalam pendidikan di mana metode tradisional bertemu dengan kemajuan teknologi. Temuan ini memiliki implikasi penting bagi pendidik, pembuat kebijakan, dan pengembang AI, menyoroti perlunya mengintegrasikan alat AI seperti ChatGPT dalam kurikulum pendidikan tinggi untuk meningkatkan pengalaman mengajar dan belajar, serta mempersiapkan siswa untuk dunia yang dinamis. Makalah ini menyimpulkan dengan mendesak penelitian akademik lebih lanjut untuk mengeksplorasi implikasi yang lebih luas dari integrasi AI dalam pendidikan dan mengatasi tantangan proses transformasi ini.

Abstract

This study examines the role of Islamic educational institutions in Jambi Province in raising legal awareness about online gambling. The research aims to explore how Islamic education can enhance legal awareness regarding online gambling, considering its negative impacts such as financial losses, addiction, increased crime, and mental health issues. A qualitative case study approach was employed, with data collected through in-depth interviews with 6 Islamic education teachers, document analysis of curriculum materials, educational policies, lesson plans, and observations of 3 participants. The findings reveal that Islamic educational institutions in Jambi Province play a pivotal role in addressing online gambling among students through various effective methods. By integrating Islamic moral values into the curriculum, utilizing technology, and employing religious lectures and case-based learning, these institutions have successfully raised students' awareness about the effects of online gambling. Despite challenges such as initial student unawareness and curriculum constraints, collaboration among schools, pesantren, and religious communities presents opportunities to enhance these educational efforts. The use of social media and community outreach is also crucial in expanding awareness and mitigating the negative impacts of online gambling. In conclusion, this study highlights the significant role of Islamic education in safeguarding society from online gambling and advocates for the continued development of comprehensive educational programs to address this issue. Studi ini mengkaji peran lembaga pendidikan Islam di Provinsi Jambi dalam meningkatkan kesadaran hukum terhadap judi online. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengeksplorasi bagaimana pendidikan Islam dapat meningkatkan kesadaran hukum mengenai judi online, yang berdampak negatif seperti kerugian finansial, kecanduan, peningkatan kejahatan, dan gangguan kesehatan mental. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan studi kasus kualitatif, dengan mengumpulkan data melalui wawancara mendalam dengan 6 pengajar agama Islam, analisis dokumen terhadap materi kurikulum, kebijakan pendidikan, rencana pelajaran, dan observasi terhadap 3 partisipan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa lembaga pendidikan Islam di Provinsi Jambi memainkan peran kunci dalam menangani judi online melalui berbagai metode efektif. Integrasi nilai-nilai moral Islam ke dalam kurikulum, pemanfaatan teknologi, serta penggunaan ceramah agama dan pembelajaran berbasis kasus berhasil meningkatkan kesadaran siswa tentang dampak judi online. Meskipun terdapat tantangan seperti kurangnya kesadaran awal dan batasan kurikulum, kolaborasi antara sekolah, pesantren, dan komunitas religius menawarkan peluang untuk meningkatkan inisiatif ini. Penggunaan media sosial dan penyuluhan komunitas juga menjadi faktor penting dalam memperluas kesadaran dan mengatasi dampak negatif judi online. Kesimpulannya, penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya pendidikan Islam dalam melindungi masyarakat dari judi online dan mendorong pengembangan program pendidikan yang lebih komprehensif untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut.

Abstract

In the digital age, higher education institutions need to enhance brand awareness to attract prospective students and other stakeholders. The PESO model (Paid, Earned, Shared, Owned) is a comprehensive approach to building and enhancing an institutions or brand's reputation. Private Islamic higher education institutions in Jambi Province face challenges in increasing brand visibility and recognition amidst intense competition. High brand awareness not only boosts the number of new applicants but also strengthens the institution's position within the educational community and society. This study aims to analyze the impact of the PESO model on increasing brand awareness at private Islamic higher education institutions in Jambi Province. The research method used is qualitative analysis with a case study approach, including in-depth interviews with stakeholders at the university, participant observation, and document analysis. The findings indicate that the Paid and Earned media components have a significant impact on brand awareness, while the Shared and Owned media components contribute less. The results of this study are expected to provide valuable insights for marketing managers and decision-makers in higher education institutions to optimize their marketing strategies. Di era digital saat ini, perguruan tinggi perlu meningkatkan kesadaran merek untuk menarik calon mahasiswa dan pemangku kepentingan lainnya. Model PESO (Paid, Earned, Shared, Owned) merupakan salah satu pendekatan komprehensif dalam membangun dan meningkatkan reputasi lembaga atau merek. Perguruan tinggi swasta agama Islam di Provinsi Jambi menghadapi tantangan dalam meningkatkan visibilitas dan pengakuan merek di tengah persaingan yang ketat. Kesadaran merek yang tinggi tidak hanya meningkatkan jumlah pendaftar baru tetapi juga memperkuat posisi institusi dalam komunitas pendidikan dan masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh model PESO dalam meningkatkan kesadaran merek di perguruan tinggi swasta agama Islam di Provinsi Jambi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah analisis kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus, termasuk wawancara mendalam kepada pemangku kepentingan di perguruan tinggi, observasi partisipan dan analisis dokumen. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komponen media Paid dan Earned memiliki dampak signifikan terhadap kesadaran merek, sementara media Shared dan Owned memberikan kontribusi yang lebih kecil. Hasil studi ini diharapkan dapat memberikan wawasan berharga bagi manajer pemasaran dan pengambil keputusan di lembaga pendidikan tinggi untuk mengoptimalkan strategi pemasaran mereka.

Abstract

Era 5.0 is marked by deeper integration between technology and human life, with digitalization becoming the backbone of various aspects of life, including education and business. In this context, students are required to have relevant skills and knowledge in facing the challenges and opportunities offered. One of the crucial skills is digital entrepreneurship. This skill combines entrepreneurial concepts with digital technology to create and manage a business. However, the level of digital literacy in Indonesia is still low, only 62%, compared to the ASEAN average of 70%. Therefore, to overcome this problem, this research was carried out with the aim of evaluating the effectiveness of digital preneurship webinars in increasing student knowledge, skills, attitudes and motivation. The experimental method was used involving 47 students as participants. Pretest and posttest data were processed using the normality test and paired T test. The research results show that the pretest and posttest data are normally distributed, and there is a significant difference between the pretest and posttest results with the Sig value. 0.000 < 0.05. In conclusion, webinars are effective in increasing participants' knowledge about digital entrepreneurship. Era 5.0 ditandai dengan integrasi yang lebih dalam antara teknologi dan kehidupan manusia dengan digitalisasi menjadi tulang punggung pada berbagai aspek kehidupan, termasuk pendidikan dan bisnis. Dalam konteks ini, mahasiswa dituntut untuk memiliki keterampilan dan pengetahuan yang relevan dalam menghadapi tantangan dan peluang yang ditawarkan. Salah satu keterampilan yang krusial adalah digital preneurship. Keterampilan ini menggabungkan konsep kewirausahaan dengan teknologi digital guna menciptakan dan mengelola bisnis. Namun, tingkat literasi digital di Indonesia masih rendah, hanya sebesar 62%, dibandingkan dengan rata-rata ASEAN sebesar 70%. Oleh karena itu untuk mengatasi masalah  maka dilakukanlah penelitian ini dengan tujuan untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas webinar digital preneurship dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan, keterampilan, sikap, dan motivasi mahasiswa. Metode eksperimen digunakan dengan melibatkan 47 mahasiswa sebagai peserta. Data pretest dan posttest diolah menggunakan uji normalitas dan uji T berpasangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa data pretest dan posttest berdistribusi normal, dan terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara hasil pretest dan posttest dengan nilai Sig. 0.000 < 0.05. Kesimpulannya, webinar efektif dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan peserta tentang digital preneurship.

Abstract

The Elderly School Program in Jambi Province addresses the growing needs of an aging population by providing continuous education and training to enhance their quality of life. While there is a growing demand for resources to support the elderly, significant gaps remain in accessibility and participation across all segments of the elderly population. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the Elderly School Program, specifically its impact on elderly well-being and family resilience. Using a case study methodology, the research involved direct observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis to assess program implementation. Findings reveal significant improvements in the knowledge, skills, and self-confidence of the elderly, alongside positive impacts on family resilience. The study contributes to the understanding of how structured educational programs can support the elderly and strengthen family bonds, offering recommendations for expanding program reach, enhancing collaboration, and developing relevant educational content. Program Sekolah Lansia di Provinsi Jambi menangani kebutuhan populasi lanjut usia yang semakin meningkat dengan memberikan pendidikan dan pelatihan berkelanjutan untuk meningkatkan kualitas hidup mereka. Meskipun ada permintaan yang meningkat untuk sumber daya yang mendukung lansia, terdapat kesenjangan signifikan dalam aksesibilitas dan partisipasi di semua segmen populasi lansia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas Program Sekolah Lansia, khususnya dampaknya terhadap kesejahteraan lansia dan ketahanan keluarga. Dengan menggunakan metode studi kasus, penelitian ini melibatkan observasi langsung, wawancara mendalam, dan analisis dokumen untuk menilai pelaksanaan program. Temuan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan kepercayaan diri lansia, serta dampak positif terhadap ketahanan keluarga. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi pada pemahaman tentang bagaimana program pendidikan terstruktur dapat mendukung lansia dan memperkuat ikatan keluarga, serta menawarkan rekomendasi untuk memperluas jangkauan program, meningkatkan kolaborasi, dan mengembangkan konten pendidikan yang relevan.

Abstract

Photovoice is a participatory research method that places humans, especially those who are marginalized, as active subjects in the process of data collection and analysis. Rather than being passive research objects, photovoice participants are given the opportunity to express their perspectives, experiences, and knowledge through the lens of a camera. The photovoice method places humans as subjects who have valuable knowledge, experiences, and perspectives. By giving them the tools to express themselves, photovoice can produce a deeper understanding of social issues and encourage positive change. The purpose of this study was to see the effectiveness of photovoice on increasing self-esteem and career maturity of vocational high school students in Bantul. The research method used was a quasi-experimental method using a non-equivalent control group design, each experimental group and control group will be given a pretest and post-test. The results obtained in this study are that photovoice is effective in increasing self-esteem and career maturity of vocational high school students. Photovoice adalah sebuah metode penelitian partisipatif yang menempatkan manusia, khususnya mereka yang terpinggirkan, sebagai subjek aktif dalam proses pengumpulan data dan analisis. Alih-alih menjadi objek penelitian yang pasif, peserta photovoice diberikan kesempatan untuk mengungkapkan perspektif, pengalaman, dan pengetahuan mereka melalui lensa kamera. Metode photovoice menempatkan manusia sebagai subjek yang memiliki pengetahuan, pengalaman, dan perspektif yang berharga. Dengan memberikan mereka alat untuk mengungkapkan diri mereka sendiri, photovoice dapat menghasilkan pemahaman yang lebih dalam tentang isu-isu sosial dan mendorong perubahan positif. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah melihat keefektifan photovoice terhadap peningkatan harga diri dan kematangan karir peserta didik SMK di Bantul. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan menggunakan non equivalent control group design, masing kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol akan diberi pretest dan posttest. Hasil yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ini adalah photovoice efektif terhadap peningkatan harga diri dan kematangan karir peserta didik SMK.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to investigate the benefits received by international students at the English Language Intensive Course for Overseas Students' program (ELICOS) of the University of Canberra College English Language Centre (UCCELC) in Australia in implementing Vocabulary Learning Strategies (VLS). The benefits are in terms of finding new vocabulary outside of the classroom, writing the words directly while encountering new words, making a connection for the meaning of the words, studying the aspects of the new words, rehearsing, saying the new words aloud and jotting the word down, getting an image of the first time they met the words, and using new vocabulary in daily conversation. A qualitative design was used to collect information from six international students from various nations, including Indonesia, China, the Philippines, and Japan, utilising interviews. The interview data were analysed and presented using qualitative research processes such as coding, grouping, argument creation, and drafting. The findings of this study demonstrated that students in the ELICOS program use a variety of vocabulary learning strategies, including cognitive, metacognitive, memory, and social strategies. Furthermore, all students reported that they gained a considerable beneficial impact on their language learning proficiency by applying behaviors of some particular vocabulary learning strategies These findings have significant implications for increasing the quality of language teaching and learning processes, as well as enriching the research repertory in the field of VLS. Bahasa Inggris untuk Mahasiswa Luar Negeri (ELICOS) dari University of Canberra College English Language Centre (UCCELC) di Australia dalam mengimplementasikan Strategi Pembelajaran Kosakata (Vocabulary Learning Strategies - VLS). Manfaatnya adalah menemukan kosakata baru di luar kelas, menulis kata-kata tersebut secara langsung ketika bertemu dengan kata-kata baru, membuat hubungan makna kata-kata tersebut, mempelajari aspek-aspek dari kata-kata baru tersebut, berlatih, mengucapkan kata-kata baru tersebut dengan lantang dan menuliskan kata tersebut, mendapatkan gambaran ketika pertama kali bertemu dengan kata-kata tersebut, dan menggunakan kosakata baru tersebut dalam percakapan sehari-hari. Untuk mengumpulkan informasi dari enam mahasiswa internasional dari berbagai negara, termasuk Indonesia, Cina, Filipina, dan Jepang, dengan menggunakan wawancara. Data wawancara dianalisis dan disajikan dengan menggunakan proses penelitian kualitatif seperti pengkodean, pengelompokan, pembuatan argumen, dan penyusunan. Temuan dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa dalam program ELICOS menggunakan berbagai strategi pembelajaran kosakata, termasuk strategi kognitif, metakognitif, memori, dan sosial. Selain itu, semua siswa mengakui bahwa mereka mendapatkan dampak yang cukup menguntungkan pada kemampuan belajar bahasa mereka dengan menerapkan aspek-aspek VLS. Temuan ini memiliki implikasi yang signifikan untuk meningkatkan kualitas proses belajar mengajar bahasa, serta memperkaya khazanah penelitian di bidang VLS.
