Abstract

This study investigates the factors that influence employee performance, namely personal factors, leadership, co-worker factors, work facilities, and work environment. This study uses a quantitative explanatory approach with primary data obtained from a survey with a questionnaire. The population in this study were all employees in North Maluku Province. The sample in the study came from two agencies, namely the Communication, Informatics, and Code Agency and the Transportation Agency of North Maluku Province, totaling 103 people. The data analysis technique used multiple regression with the help of SPSS software. The findings indicate that personal factors and leadership positively influence employee performance, with improved individual attributes and effective leadership leading to enhanced performance outcomes. Conversely, the presence of a larger number of co-workers was found to negatively affect performance, potentially due to role ambiguity and reduced accountability. Additionally, work facilities and the work environment did not significantly impact employee performance. The results emphasize the importance of focusing on personal and leadership development to boost employee effectiveness while addressing co-worker dynamics to maintain clear roles and responsibilities. Future research should further investigate these relationships to refine strategies for organizational performance improvement.

Abstract

One of the potential resources in Indonesian villages is in the fisheries sector, which are divided into two main categories: capture fisheries and aquaculture. One of the common species for aquaculture in Indonesia is milkfish (chanos chanos). Pangkah Wetan Village in Gresik Regency is one of the areas that has the potential or value for milkfish aquaculture, which is influenced by the majority of the population who have a livelihood in the fisheries sector and because milkfish is relatively easy to cultivate due to its fast growth. In order to explore the potential for milkfish aquaculture, this research was carried out through an analysis of the market system approach. The productivity of milkfish aquaculture is determined by the optimization of its support functions. It was discovered that the cause of the low productivity of milkfish aquaculture was due to limitations in supporting services, not in the actors. The basic causes of this productivity include various seedlings quality, limited artificial feed, low utilization of technology, low access to capital, low marketing levels, and the minimal role of related institutions. Hence systemic intervention is necessary in terms of support services in order to improve the welfare of the community which in turn will increase the income of farmers.

Abstract

Presently, Indonesia ranks as the fourth most populous country globally. The country's population is on a constant rise, accompanied by escalating issues such as poverty, hunger, gender inequality, and disparity. To address these challenges, a solution was initiated in the 1980s when the government first introduced a family planning program aimed at regulating the population's growth within the country. Employing the capability approach, this research examined the influence of Indonesia's family planning policy on women, offering a comprehensive viewpoint. Additionally, gender disparity emerges due to insufficient population and family development support for human rights. The conversion factors significantly affect the freedom capability and women's capacity to translate available resources into action. The purpose of this study is to critically discuss the strengths and weaknesses of Indonesia's family planning policy and its impact on women. The outcome indicated that obstacles for women arose from factors like shifts in governance, conflicting policies, government inefficiency, and BKKBN's incapacity to handle family planning. Consequently, it is crucial for all sectors and agencies to efficiently execute the family program to alleviate gender inequality in women's health.

The study that the researcher conducts The case study is one of the research methods that is carried out in-depth examination rather than generalizing to a situation or phenomenon called a case by using systematic methods of observing, collecting data, analyzing information, and reporting the results. As a result, you will get a deep understanding of why something happens and can be the basis for further research with a single case study, data collected through observation and in-depth interviews, and documentation to produce the best conclusions and can be an argument for researchers. The results of the study indicate that job characteristic and entrepreneurial competencies have not been able to fully support the improvement of SME performance. Abstract

Earnings management is possibly incorrect when it has a negative impact on the corporation’s financial health. Several large companies were affected by earnings management cases. This study analyzes the direct impact of various factors such as financial ratios, good corporate governance (GCG), reward, and asymmetric information on earnings management practices, especially in manufacturing companies in Indonesia. Data was obtained from the financial reports of 65 manufacturing companies published on the Indonesian capital market, processed, and tested using regression analysis. The study shows that there is a positive impact of profitability on earnings management, but leverage and the board of directors have a negative impact on earnings management, while institutional ownership, independent commissioners, reward, and asymmetric information do not show any relationship with earnings management. These findings add empirical evidence regarding factors that directly impact earnings management practices and can serve as a reference for investment analysis by investors. Further research is recommended using different factors such as corporate value or factors that may influence the occurrence of earnings management practices, such as financial distress.

Abstract

In response to Maslow’s (1943) hierarchy of needs, business executives today favour the use of non-financial rewards over money, resulting in a lot of dissatisfaction in the workplace. This paper analyses both the primary and secondary evidence, focusing on the causes of corruption, industrial strikes and the general behaviour towards money in an effort to guide employers on the best motivation technique. Findings suggest that most individuals can embark on violent and destructive behaviour if they are not paid in cash and are reluctant to fight for non-monetary rewards. However, to perfectly motivate the workforce, it concludes by recommending a mixture of both but with more emphasis on financial rewards, regardless of the individual’s corporate development level.
