Abstract

This study is motivated by the low level of students’ ability to recognize Javanese vocabulary, mainly due to the lack of appropriate learning materials. To address this issue, flashcards were used to stimulate students’ interest and improve their recognition of Javanese vocabulary. This research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design to improve Javanese vocabulary mastery among Kindergarten-A students using flashcards. The problem arose from monotonous, less varied learning conditions that were still dominated by lecture methods and unengaging instructional media. The study focused on two variables: Javanese vocabulary mastery as the dependent variable and the use of flashcards as the independent variable. The population comprised all 15 Kindergarten-A students at TK Nuruddinul Islam, selected through purposive sampling. The findings indicate an improvement in students’ vocabulary skills following the implementation of flashcards. In the pre-cycle stage, most students (60%) were classified as Fair, whereas the remainder were classified as Poor or Very Poor. In Cycle I, all students showed progress and reached the Fair category, with no students remaining in the lower categories. More significant progress was observed in Cycle II, in which six students (40%) achieved the Good category, and only one student continued to demonstrate limited ability. These results demonstrate that flashcards are effective learning aids for enhancing Javanese vocabulary mastery among Kindergarten-A students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menelaah transformasi Islam pada era Revolusi Industri 4.0 dengan menekankan rekonstruksi nilai, praktik, dan ekspresi keagamaan ke dalam bentuk budaya digital yang disebarluaskan melalui media sosial, kecerdasan buatan, dan berbagai platform daring. Menggunakan metode studi literatur yang merujuk pada sumber-sumber akademik kontemporer, penelitian ini menerapkan analisis konten dan kerangka tematik untuk mengkaji empat domain utama, yaitu dakwah digital, pendidikan Islam 4.0, ekonomi digital syariah, dan identitas Muslim global. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa digitalisasi secara signifikan membentuk ulang keterlibatan keagamaan umat Islam, terlihat dari pergeseran dakwah tradisional menuju komunikasi audio-visual interaktif, meningkatnya kebutuhan literasi digital dalam pendidikan Islam, pesatnya perkembangan sistem ekonomi syariah berbasis teknologi, serta munculnya identitas Muslim global yang lebih cair namun berpotensi rapuh. Kajian terhadap 18 publikasi menunjukkan bahwa dakwah digital menjadi tema paling dominan (35%), disusul pendidikan Islam (30%), ekonomi digital syariah (25%), dan identitas global (10%). Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa Islam pada era digital menunjukkanadaptabilitas yang tinggi, tetapi memerlukan penguatan literasi digital keagamaan serta pedoman etika bermedia untuk menjaga keaslian dan relevansi nilai-nilai Islam.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the internalization of values ​​in the implementation of Arts and Culture learning, the challenges faced in internalizing values, and the influence of internalization of values ​​on student character. The research method used is a qualitative description with a literature review approach. The results of this study describe the implementation of internalization of values ​​carried out in various ways and has an impact on the formation and strengthening of student character, although there are challenges experienced in the implementation of internalization of values. Manuscripts obtained from Google Scholar were filtered into ten journals covering MI, MIN, and SD educational units so that the data obtained are more valid in describing the internalization of values ​​in educational units. Challenges in implementing internalization of values ​​include technological developments that cause children to forget traditional games, the implementation of internalization of values ​​is still in the preparation stage, the lack of appreciation for local batik and batik is only local content in thematic modules without a specific curriculum, easily influenced by foreign cultures, lazy attitudes in drawing batik, limited natural materials, students focus on artistic techniques and ignore moral values, and limited learning time. Nevertheless, internalization of values ​​in Arts and Culture learning has a positive influence on the formation of student character.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the conceptual foundations, methodological orientations, and practical strategies necessary for designing Islamic studies that are relevant to Generation Z. As digital natives, Generation Z develops cognitively, socially, and religiously within an environment dominated by rapid technological advancement, visual communication, and continuous connectivity. This condition creates an urgent need to formulate a methodological framework for Digital Islamic Studies that aligns with their learning patterns and digital behavior. Using a library research design with a content analysis approach, the study examines key academic sources and previous research related to digital literacy, Islamic education, and online religious engagement. The findings indicate that digital platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube have become major epistemic spaces for Gen Z, reshaping religious authority, learning preferences, and modes of value internalization. The study also identifies significant challenges, such as misinformation, limited educator competence, and the lack of structured digital literacy frameworks, that hinder effective implementation of digital Islamic learning. The research concludes that a comprehensive, adaptive, and interdisciplinary methodology is essential for ensuring that Islamic knowledge remains accurate, meaningful, and contextually relevant in the digital age, while also recommending further empirical studies to validate and refine the proposed methodological model.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan bentuk dan proses pemanfaatan media Information and Communication Technology (ICT) dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) di Pesantren Al-Hidayah Tenggarong. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi partisipatif, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemanfaatan media ICT meliputi penggunaan platform digital seperti PowerPoint, YouTube, dan Google Classroom dalam pembelajaran kitab dan materi keislaman. Proses pemanfaatan dilakukan melalui tiga tahapan utama, yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Pada tahap pelaksanaan, santri dilibatkan secara aktif dalam proyek digital berbasis nilai-nilai Islam, seperti pembuatan video dakwah dan presentasi tematik. Penerapan model pembelajaran ini terbukti meningkatkan antusiasme, motivasi, keterampilan berpikir kritis, serta literasi digital santri. Selain itu, mayoritas santri menunjukkan kepuasan terhadap pembelajaran berbasis ICT. Kendala utama yang dihadapi adalah keterbatasan sarana teknologi dan kompetensi digital guru, sehingga diperlukan pelatihan dan dukungan infrastruktur berkelanjutan. Secara keseluruhan, pemanfaatan media ICT menjadi inovasi strategis dalam meningkatkan mutu pembelajaran PAI tanpa mengabaikan nilai-nilai keislaman tradisional

Abstract

This study aims to examine the strategic role of special instructional methods in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in enhancing students’ understanding of religious moderation. Using a literature review method, data were collected from various relevant scientific sources discussing PAI learning strategies and the implementation of moderation values in education. The findings indicate that interactive, dialogical, reflective, and collaborative learning methods significantly strengthen students’ understanding of the values of tawasuth (moderation), i‘tidāl (justice/balance), and tasâmuh (tolerance). The role of PAI teachers is crucial as facilitators who connect the concept of moderation with social realities and are able to adapt learning to the challenges of the digital era. However, obstacles still exist in implementing innovative methods, such as limited teacher training and the influence of social media, which may trigger intolerant attitudes. Therefore, policy support and continuous improvement of teacher competencies are necessary. In conclusion, the implementation of effective PAI learning methods can foster a moderate and inclusive religious attitude, thereby encouraging the creation of harmony within a pluralistic society.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan peran teknologi dalam perubahan digital untuk membentuk pola komunikasi baru, struktur komunikasi baru, dan diskusi Islam kontemporer dalam konteks pembelajaran. Kebutuhan untuk memahami digitalisasi epistemologi Islam dan tantangan serta peluang yang hadir dalam ruang online keagamaan publik. Untuk mengatasi tantangan paling mendesak dalam studi Islam kontemporer, penelitian ini berfokus pada tantangan yang ditimbulkan oleh era digital terhadap disiplin studi Islam. Studi ini meneliti tantangan yang ditimbulkan oleh era digital pada studi Islam. Studi ini menganalisa, mengidentifikasi, dan berusaha memahami wacana studi Islam di era digital dan tantangan yang dihadapinya. Data tersebut dikumpulkan dari artikel ilmiah, publikasi digital, dan laporan penelitian. Studi ini menggunakan metode studi literatur kualitatif, terutama analisis tematik. Studi ini menggunakan bantuan AI untuk analisis konten, yang membantu dalam pemetaan pola wacana agama, otoritas, dan interaksi di ruang digital. Temuan penelitian ini menggambarkan bahwa digitalisasi ditandai dengan desentralisasi otoritas dan wacana agama, pluralisasi dan fragmentasi wacana, dan bentuk-bentuk otoritas baru yang didasarkan pada popularitas media sosial dan optimasi algoritma. Studi ini menunjukkan fragmentasi otoritas dan pluralisasi wacana. Studi ini mengidentifikasi dan mengatasi masalah yang berasal dari tantangan era digital. Dengan demikian, diskursus Islam dapat dipahami sebagai proses pendidikan sosial-religius yang dinamis dan berkelanjutan, di mana individu dan komunitas Muslim secara aktif terlibat dalam interaksi sosial, negosiasi, serta produksi dan penyebaran pengetahuan Islam melalui berbagai platform digital. Hal ini menghasilkan pengembangan pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan praktik yang berkaitan.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the modernization of PAI in the context of Society 5.0 through a literature study approach with thematic analysis of the current literature. The Society 5.0 era brought fundamental changes in the world of education, including Islamic Religious Education (PAI), which historically often used conventional lecture-based learning approaches. Technological transformation that integrates artificial intelligence, big data, the internet of things, and digital analytics demands religious learning that not only emphasizes information transmission, but also builds critical, collaborative, creative, and technologically literate competencies. The results of the study show that the modernization of PAI learning requires a pedagogical reconstruction that leads to a participatory, digital-interactive, and student-centered model. In addition, modernization also depends on teacher readiness, support for digital facilities, curriculum flexibility, and classroom culture that encourages collaboration. The research concludes that PAI learning must move from a textual paradigm to an integrative approach that combines Islamic values with 21st century competencies in order to be able to respond to the moral, social, and technological challenges of the modern generation. This modernization is a strategic foundation in strengthening the religious character as well as the adaptive abilities of students in the midst of accelerating digital transformation.

Abstract

This study investigates the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) competence of five pre-service teachers during a one-month teaching practicum at MTs N 2 Banyuwangi. The study aimed to measure their overall TPACK competence and identify which domain is strongest and weakest. A descriptive quantitative design was employed using a 15-item self-assessment questionnaire on a 5-point Likert scale, complemented by document analysis of lesson plans, teaching materials, and reflective reports. The findings show that the participants demonstrated a generally high level of TPACK, with CK emerging as the strongest domain, followed by PK, whereas TK remained the weakest. The integrative TPACK score suggests that the pre-service teachers possessed moderate confidence in combining technology, pedagogy, and content during instruction. Document analysis further supported these findings by confirming strong content mastery and adequate pedagogical preparation, while also revealing limited integration of digital tools in classroom practice. These findings highlight the need for more structured technological training and earlier exposure to educational technology within teacher education programs to strengthen pre-service teachers’ technological competence.

Abstract

Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) currently face dual challenges: maintaining traditional orthodoxy while responding to global technological disruption. This study aims to analyze resilience and adaptation strategies used by pesantren to bridge the values of student (santri) obedience with the characteristics of a critical digital generation. Employing a qualitative approach with a library research method, the data were analyzed descriptively to examine contemporary challenges within the Islamic education ecosystem. The results indicate that pesantren adaptation is manifested in four strategic domains: (1) Curriculum reconstruction through the integration of classical Islamic texts (turats) with scientific-technological literacy; (2) Strengthening digital literacy as a filter against radicalism and hoaxes; (3) Mainstreaming religious moderation (wasathiyyah) as a counter-narrative to extremism; and (4) Fostering economic independence based on sociopreneurship. This article concludes that the sustainability of pesantren depends on its ability to recontextualize values through the principle of al-muhafadhah ‘ala al-qadim al-shalih wa al-akhdzu bi al-jadid al-ashlah (preserving good old traditions while adopting better new ones). Supported by Law No. 18 of 2019, pesantren have the potential to transform into centers of Islamic civilization that are authentic yet globally relevant.
