Abstract

The Society 5.0 era has instigated profound transformations in various sectors, particularly in education, necessitating a strategic intervention from Islamic Education (PAI) teachers in molding students' character and instilling values of piety and morality. This study aims to investigate the role of PAI teachers in confronting the challenges posed by the Society 5.0 era and to delineate the factors that both support and inhibit the cultivation of values. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, the research reveals that PAI teachers function as educators, mentors, role models, and motivators, playing a crucial role in promoting noble character and piety among students. Key supporting factors identified include the effective utilization of digital technology, robust backing from the school and family environments, and teachers’ proficiency in merging religious values with contemporary developments. Conversely, inhibiting factors encompass the detrimental impacts of social media, insufficient parental oversight, and the restricted time allocated for religious education within school curricula. Consequently, fostering synergy among teachers, schools, families, and the broader community is imperative to enhance moral and spiritual education in the face of technological evolution. This research offers vital implications for the advancement of more effective strategies in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) within the digital age and emphasizes the importance of collaborative efforts among teachers, parents, and the community in nurturing students' noble character.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the many applications of the independent curriculum that are still not maximal in various schools, especially classroom learning that is still the same as the previous curriculum. The purpose of this study is to analyze the implementation of the Independent Curriculum in improving the activeness and quality of student learning at SMP Madya Utama as one of the best examples of schools in the implementation of the independent curriculum. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data was obtained through observations, interviews, and documentation from the principal, 2 teachers and 6 students in the school environment. The research analysis used was B Miles and Huberman with the validity of data through data sources. The results of the study show that the implementation of the Independent Curriculum in SMP Madya Utama has a positive impact on student activity in the learning process, especially through project-based learning and collaborative activities. In addition, the quality of student learning has also improved, which is shown by the improvement of critical thinking skills, creativity, and responsibility and independence in learning. This is because at SMP Madya Utama all teachers are required to take part in various independent curriculum trainings both held by the school every semester and by teacher groups every year. Although there are still obstacles in implementation, especially the maximum use of technology, the school strives to provide solutions for teachers, especially those who have entered old age, to understand the technology of educational applications and websites well from various activities. The implications of this research are field-based, and there are still opportunities to strengthen each other's data, especially using other research methods.

Abstract

Reading skills (maharah qira’ah) are fundamental competencies in Arabic language education, particularly at the junior secondary level in institutions such as Madrasah Tsanawiyah. This study addresses the challenges faced by MTs 05 Kalikuning, including low student engagement, monotonous teaching methods, and a lack of interactive learning media. The purpose of this research is to identify and develop innovative teaching strategies aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of Arabic language instruction, with a specific focus on reading skills. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that integrating communicative approaches, simple digital media, and group discussion methods significantly improves student participation and comprehension of Arabic texts. This study underscores the necessity for innovation in Arabic language teaching methodologies to meet contemporary educational demands. The implications suggest that educators should adopt more creative lesson designs that prioritize comprehension and active student involvement over rote memorization, ultimately contributing to improved language acquisition outcomes.

Abstract

In the digital era, technological advancements pose challenges in education, particularly in providing innovative and interactive learning media. Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in elementary schools still relies heavily on conventional methods such as lectures and textbooks, which often fail to engage students effectively. As a result, students' interest and understanding of the subject matter remain suboptimal. Therefore, innovative and interactive learning media are needed to enhance student engagement in the learning process. This study aims to develop a PowerPoint-based Digital Pop-Up Book, named "PUNAH", as an interactive learning medium for second-grade elementary school students in PAI, focusing on the story of Prophet Nuh (Noah). The research employs the Design and Development (D&D) approach using the ADDIE model, which consists of five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Data were collected through expert validation by subject matter and media specialists, as well as trials involving teachers and students. The research findings indicate that this Digital Pop-Up Book is highly suitable as a learning medium based on its clarity of content, visual appeal, ease of use, and effectiveness in enhancing students' understanding. The use of this medium has been proven to increase student engagement in learning while also assisting teachers in delivering material in a more engaging and interactive manner. In conclusion, the development of this PowerPoint-based Digital Pop-Up Book serves as an innovative solution to improve the quality of PAI learning in elementary schools, particularly in presenting the stories of the Prophets in a more engaging way for students.

Abstract

This research was motivated by a sense of boredom and saturation in SKI learning due to the many historical stories that cover a wide range and the names of figures that are difficult to memorize. The purpose of this study was to determine the response of students when implementing mind mapping learning media in SKI subjects based on the independent curriculum. The method used in this study is a qualitative method. This research was conducted at MA Mambaul Ulum Megaluh Jombang. The subjects in this study were the principal, curriculum vice principal, SKI subject teachers, and class X students. Data collection techniques in this study were observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the implementation of mind mapping learning media in SKI subjects based on the independent curriculum received a good response from the school, the response of students regarding mind mapping learning media in SKI subjects based on the independent curriculum was that students found it easier to understand, the summary of the material taught became short and clear, and created a fun and enjoyable learning atmosphere. The advantages of this mind mapping learning media are to train students to be more creative, easier to understand, and the material taught becomes short and clear. Meanwhile, the drawbacks of this mind mapping learning media are that its creation requires a long process and time. This shows that mind mapping media can be applied in the SKI learning process to increase the creativity and activeness of students.

Abstract

This study introduces a reliable semi-analytical approach for solving partial differential equations (PDEs) using a Modified New Iterative Method (MNIM). The primary aim is to enhance the efficiency of deriving closed-form solutions through an innovative formulation of an integral operator based on n-fold integration. This approach circumvents the conventional necessity of transforming PDEs into systems of multiple integral equations, thereby streamlining the solution process. The effectiveness of the MNIM is assessed through a series of examples, demonstrating its rapid convergence and superior performance in solving an array of evolution and partial differential equations. The results indicate that the MNIM not only simplifies the solution process but also significantly improves computational efficiency compared to traditional methods. This contribution holds substantial implications for both theoretical advancements in numerical analysis and practical applications across various fields where PDEs are prevalent, thereby facilitating more effective problem-solving strategies in complex systems.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the limited studies on the determination of life goals in adolescents from broken homes. In fact, this phenomenon has a significant impact on the psychological development and life direction of adolescents, especially in high school education. The purpose of this study was to explore the process of determining life goals through a logotherapy counseling approach in a student who experienced an existential crisis due to her incomplete family condition. The method used was qualitative with a case study design, with one participant, namely Nadia (pseudonym), a class XII student at MAN 4 Banyuwangi who was selected through purposive sampling techniques. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation, then analyzed using thematic analysis techniques. The results showed that logotherapy counseling played an important role in helping Nadia re-arrange the meaning of her life and set more positive and realistic goals. Logotherapy techniques such as Socratic dialogue, value reflection, and meaning-finding proved effective in forming self-understanding and new life directions for participants. These findings are in line with the objectives of the study and strengthen Viktor Frankl's theory on the importance of meaning in overcoming psychological suffering. The main conclusion of this study is that logotherapy has great potential in helping adolescents from broken homes find meaning in life and set constructive long-term goals. The implications of this study include theoretical aspects, namely contributions to the literature on meaning-based counseling in the context of adolescents in Indonesia, as well as practical aspects in the form of recommendations for the application of logotherapy in school environments by counselors to support students' mental health. This study also opens up opportunities for further studies on the effectiveness of logotherapy in group formats and its long-term impacts.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic Education (PAI) teachers in implementing multicultural education to develop students' tolerance at SMP Negeri 1 Ngoro Jombang. This research utilizes a descriptive qualitative method, with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings of this research indicate that Islamic Education teachers play a significant role in creating an inclusive learning environment that embraces diversity. Their roles include acting as guides, facilitators, and educators in the process of multicultural education. Islamic Education teachers at SMP Negeri 1 Ngoro Jombang successfully integrate values of tolerance, mutual respect between religions, and cultural diversity into the learning process. Moreover, these teachers serve as role models for students in fostering moderation and harmony among different religious groups. However, the study also identifies several external factors that support the implementation of multicultural education, such as school policies promoting diversity, the school's commitment to inclusivity, parental and community support, and collaboration between educators and school staff. A harmonious school environment also helps create a conducive learning atmosphere. On the other hand, external obstacles include a lack of parental awareness about the importance of multicultural education, insufficient teacher training in multiculturalism, and limited resources and learning media. Additionally, internal factors that support the implementation include the competence and professionalism of Islamic Education teachers, creativity in collaborative teaching, and active collaboration between subject teachers. Internal challenges identified include a lack of training and understanding related to multiculturalism, as well as limited facilities and learning resources.

Abstract

Indonesia's rich marine biodiversity, including the symbiotic relationship between clownfish and sea anemones, has not been widely raised as a theme in contemporary batik works, even though it has the potential to become a medium for children's education. This research aims to create a batik painting with the theme of clownfish and sea anemone for children's room decoration, which combines aesthetic values and educational messages about the importance of protecting marine ecosystems. The method used is practice-based research through five stages: preparation, elaboration, synthesis, concept realization, and completion. Data was collected through visual observation, literature study, consultation with batik artisans and art observers, and evaluation of works through exhibitions. The technique applied is painted batik with color colet using a brush on primissima mori cloth, plus decorative elements in the form of glitter. The research results are ten painted batik works that represent the theme of underwater life, with the application of fine art principles such as unity, balance, and rhythm, as well as presenting cheerful and educational visuals for children. In conclusion, these painted batik works not only successfully display the beauty of the relationship between clownfish and sea anemone, but also effectively become a medium to raise children's awareness of the importance of marine biodiversity conservation.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the critical thinking skills that students need to prepare for the advancement of science and technology in the 21st century. To anticipate this, it is necessary to carry out various reforms and improvements in the world of education. One of them is updating and improving the learning model. This study aims to review the literature on the effectiveness of inquiry learning models in improving students' critical thinking skills in social studies subjects in elementary school. The method used in this study is a qualitative method with descriptive analysis techniques and literature studies. The results of this study show that the use of the inquiry learning model can improve students' critical thinking skills, the application of the inquiry learning model can improve students' ability to identify problems systematically and critically. Through active involvement in observing, asking, and discovering problems, students are encouraged to think sharply and develop curiosity. The conclusion of this study is that the inquiry learning model can strengthen their ability to formulate problems, as an important part of critical thinking skills. This means that the use of inquiry models is quite effective in various subjects, including social studies subjects. The implications of this research include the novelty of the findings and the impact of the applied learning model, this is expected to contribute to social studies learning in elementary schools.
