Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation process of the Ustmani Method in enhancing students' memorization at the Islamic Boarding School of Sulaimaniyah Asaefurrohim Jasinga Bogor. It identifies factors influencing both the success and challenges of memorization and evaluates the method's impact on students' memorization and comprehension. The researchers employed a descriptive qualitative approach utilizing field research methods, with data collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. The results indicate that the Ustmani Method is effective in improving students' memorization through a systematic loop repetition system. Students do not memorize sequentially; rather, they follow a specific pattern that enhances memory, specifically through a backward sequence system. Key success factors for this method include consistency, discipline in murojaah, and support from teachers and the surrounding environment. However, challenges such as inconsistent student participation, time constraints, and variations in individual memory capabilities remain obstacles to its implementation. Periodic evaluations are conducted through tiered memorization assessments and examinations at designated intervals, which assist students in maintaining their memorization. The implementation of this method has resulted in the majority of students experiencing an increase in the quality and durability of their memorization, enabling them to complete memorization in a shorter timeframe compared to other methods.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the public assumption that pesantren (Islamic boarding schools) can make a significant contribution to society through the moral education of students, thereby shaping good character and increasing students' motivation for worship to realize a generation with noble character (akhlakul karimah) and broad vision while upholding humility (tawadhu’). This research aims to determine (1) the role of teachers in shaping the character of students at Pondok Pesantren Putra Al-Maliki 1 Bahrul Ulum Tambakberas Jombang, and (2) the supporting and inhibiting factors that affect the character formation of students at the pesantren. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative research, located at Pondok Pesantren Putra Al-Maliki 1 Bahrul Ulum Tambakberas Jombang, which is led by Drs. KH. Fadhullah Malik, M.H.I., as the supervisory board of YPPBU. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation, which were then analyzed using data analysis techniques and data validity tests. The results indicate that the supporting factors for character formation of students at Al-Maliki 1 include (1) regular Quran recitation, (2) gotong royong (collective work practice), (3) congregational prayers, and (4) discussions about morals. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors include (1) personal issues related to consistency, (2) the external environment, and (3) lack of supervision and peer pressure. The steps taken by teachers in the process of character formation of students include (1) the exemplary method, (2) the advice method, (3) the discipline habituation method, and (4) the takziran method (punishment). The main conclusion of this study is the importance of the role of teachers in shaping the character of male students at Pondok Pesantren Al-Maliki 1 Bahrul Ulum Tambakberas Jombang, where teachers serve not only as academic educators but also as moral exemplars and character guides.

Abstract

This research was conducted due to the limitations of studies regarding the improvement of cognitive scores from the STAD learning model with the assistance of scaffolding strategies. The application of scaffolding strategies in learning has a positive impact on improving the cognitive learning outcomes of students. This study aims to determine the cognitive learning outcomes of sixth-grade students at the UPTD SDN Keleyan 1 by applying the STAD learning model combined with scaffolding strategies in the subject of Pancasila Education. The research method used is classroom action research (PTK) with a participative type. The target of the study is the sixth grade, consisting of 19 students. Data collection was carried out through observation, tests, and documentation, with data analysis using quantitative descriptive techniques. The results of the study indicate that the STAD learning model combined with scaffolding can improve cognitive learning outcomes in the subject of Pancasila Education through two cycles. There was an improvement from the pre-cycle phase to cycle I of 14.22, with an average score of cycle I of 62.11 and a percentage increase of 29.69%. Furthermore, from cycle I to cycle II, there was a larger increase of 16.84, with an average score of 78.95 and a percentage increase of 27.11% using scaffolding. The main conclusion of this study is the importance of applying scaffolding in an appropriate learning model, one of which is the STAD learning model, to address the cognitive learning outcome gaps of students in the subject of Pancasila Education. The implications of this research are the improvement of cognitive learning outcomes and the application of scaffolding with the STAD learning model to assist students with low cognitive abilities in achieving learning independence. This research can also open up further studies regarding the affective and psychomotor aspects in the application of scaffolding strategies.

Abstract

Rapid technological changes have both pros and cons, especially for children. Education that emphasizes positive and negative values is crucial for character development in a global society. Through religious education, the ideals of divinity and humanism in Islam shape students' character. This study examines how Islamic cultural values and the educational environment shape student character at SMP Hamalatul Quran Ringinagung Kediri. Data were obtained through surveys, observations, and documentation. Most questionnaire scores fell within the upper range, peaking at 115-116. Validity and reliability tests verified the research instrument. Data were normally distributed, and the regression type was free from multicollinearity and heteroskedasticity. Multiple linear regression analysis revealed that religious cultural values (X1) did not have a significant impact on student character (Y), whereas the school environment had a positive and substantial effect on character education (Y). The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.295 indicates that religious cultural values and the school environment explain 30% of the variability in student character, although other variables also play a role. The F test revealed that both independent factors significantly affect the dependent variable. This study shows that religious cultural values and the educational environment significantly influence student character. Promoting religious principles in the curriculum, school activities, and a supportive atmosphere can help students develop integrity and morality.

Abstract

This study discusses the strategy of using digital-based learning media in increasing learning motivation in Fiqh subjects. The background of this study is rooted in the need to make learning more interesting and relevant to students. Fiqh subjects often contain abstract and complex concepts, which can be challenging for students to understand and apply in their daily lives. In addition, digital media allows flexibility in learning, gives access to materials anytime and anywhere, and provides real-time feedback which is invaluable to the learning process. All of these contribute to increasing students' learning motivation, making Fiqh learning more interesting and effective. The purpose of the strategy of using digital-based learning media in improving learning motivation in Fiqh subject is to create a more interactive, and relevant learning experience for students. By using digital technology, it is expected that students can more easily understand and apply Fiqh concepts that are often abstract and complex. Digital media allows teachers to present material visually and dynamically through videos, animations and simulations, so that the concepts taught become more concrete and interesting. Abstract

This research employs a qualitative literature study approach to investigate the critical need for Islamic economic literacy as a deterrent against students' engagement in online gambling and illegal online loans. Through classroom observations and content analysis of secondary sources, including journals, news articles, and curriculum documents, three primary findings emerged: (1) a limited understanding of the application of Islamic principles in digital transactions, (2) the aggressive marketing tactics of non-Islamic platforms that exploit students' financial vulnerabilities, and (3) a significant disconnect between the muamalah fiqh curriculum and the actual financial behaviors of students. To address these issues, this study proposes an implementation framework that includes enriching the curriculum with relevant case studies, establishing a student literacy ambassador program, and fostering collaboration with Islamic financial authorities. These findings contribute to the discourse on developing Islamic economic education that effectively responds to contemporary digital challenges, particularly in enhancing the financial resilience of the young Muslim generation.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the development of the batik tulis (hand-drawn batik) industry, which is quite good in Bogoharjo Village, playing an important role in supporting family economies, especially for women's groups. The aim of this research is to understand the development of the batik tulis industry as a form of economic empowerment based on local culture. This research employs a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques including participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The research location is in Bogoharjo Village, with informants consisting of village officials, batik tulis business owners, and community members directly involved. Data analysis was conducted using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that local cultural-based economic empowerment through batik tulis is very feasible in Bogoharjo Village, as the batik tulis industry absorbs a significant amount of female labor around the industrial houses. The conclusion of this study emphasizes that each batik tulis industry has unique characteristics and faces various inhibiting and driving factors in the process of economic empowerment based on local culture. This research is expected to serve as a reference in the development of knowledge, particularly on related topics. Practically, this research is anticipated to provide input to stakeholders in the batik tulis industry in Bogoharjo Village, as well as to village government officials as initiators of community empowerment programs. Furthermore, this study is expected to provide useful information and an overview of batik tulis from a different perspective.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of the Living Qur'an concept in the learning process in schools from PAUD to SMA/MA. This concept interprets the Qur'an not only as a reading text, but as a guideline for life that is implemented in daily educational activities. The background of this study is taken from the importance of forming student character based on contextual and applicable Qur'anic values. This study uses a literature study method with a qualitative descriptive approach. Data sources were obtained from 14 scientific articles published in the last ten years. Analysis was carried out using source triangulation techniques to maintain the validity of the findings. The results of the study show that the implementation of the Living Qur'an is carried out through various approaches according to the level of education. In PAUD, practice is carried out through tarbiyah, tahajji, and tahfiz methods. In SD/MI, Qur'anic values ​​are integrated through reading surahs, calligraphy, and Asmaul Husna. In SMP/MTs, creative methods such as storytelling and tadabbur are used. While in SMA/MA it is carried out through the tasmi' program and Qur'an literacy. This study concludes that Living Qur’an is an effective strategy in instilling Islamic character if supported by a supportive educational environment and competent teachers.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the low critical thinking skills of students in Islamic Education learning at SMP Negeri 1 Candung, where many students tend to be passive and have difficulty analyzing and concluding information. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of the Guided Discovery Learning model on the critical thinking skills of eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Candung. This research employs a correlational quantitative method involving 131 students. Data were collected through daily quiz scores and a critical thinking questionnaire. The results indicate that students achieved an average score of 82.37, exceeding the minimum competency standard of 70. The average score for critical thinking skills is 74.45, which falls within the good category. Statistical analysis shows a significant but weak positive correlation between the learning model and students' critical thinking skills. These findings suggest that the Guided Discovery Learning model contributes positively to improving students' critical thinking skills in Islamic Education subjects. This indicates the need for a broader application of discovery-based learning models in Islamic education to enhance students' analytical abilities and engagement.

Abstract

The main issue in Aqidah Akhlak learning at MTs Al-Azhar Peterongan Jombang lies in the prolonged and monotonous lecture method, which lowers students' interest and motivation. There is a strong need for engaging and easy-to-use learning media to increase student engagement. This study aims to develop and evaluate the feasibility of Hyperlink-Based Aqidah Learning media to improve the quality of Aqidah Akhlak learning. The research used a Research and Development (R&D) approach with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The research subjects were 30 eighth-grade students. Data collection instruments included observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. Validation results from material experts scored 87% and 100%, while media expert validation scored 97% from each validator. Student response questionnaires scored 91.3%, indicating that the media was categorized as "very engaging." The study concludes that the developed hyperlink-based media is highly feasible and engaging for use in Aqidah Akhlak learning. The implication of this study is that technology-based media can serve as an alternative solution to overcome students' learning boredom and enhance the effectiveness of contextual and interactive religious education.
