Abstract

Writing is an important language skill and relatively difficult for elementary school students to master, particularly writing descriptive texts. A pre-survey conducted in fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 1 Temuwangi Pedan, Klaten, found that students' descriptive writing skills were still low, as indicated by low learning motivation, suboptimal student engagement, and learning outcomes often falling below the Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM). One contributing factor is the use of conventional and less varied learning methods. Therefore, innovative learning methods are needed to encourage students to be active and creative in writing, one of which is the Show, Don't Tell technique. This study aims to improve descriptive writing skills through the application of the Show, Don't Tell technique in fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 1 Temuwangi Pedan, Klaten, in the 2025/2026 academic year. This study, a Classroom Action Research (CAR), was conducted in two cycles using the Suharsimi Arikunto model, encompassing planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The study subjects were 18 students. Data collection techniques used observation, tests, questionnaires, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out quantitatively and qualitatively. The results of the study showed an increase in students' descriptive text writing skills. In cycle I, learning completeness reached 77.78%, then increased in cycle II to 83.33%. In addition, the questionnaire results showed that students' responses to the application of the Show, Don't Tell technique were in the positive category. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of the Show, Don't Tell technique is effective in improving the descriptive text writing skills of fifth-grade students of SD Negeri 1 Temuwangi Pedan Klaten.

Abstract

This study examines the role and implementation strategies of Wasathiyah Islam within a digital framework to build a narrative of religious moderation in Indonesia. The development of digital media has transformed patterns of da'wah and religious authority, while simultaneously giving rise to challenges in the form of polarization, hoaxes, hate speech, and immoderate religious content. In this context, Wasathiyah Islam has become an important paradigm emphasizing the values ​​of moderation, balance, tolerance, and justice in religious life. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with content analysis techniques on digital da'wah content produced by mainstream Islamic organizations, such as the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), and Muhammadiyah, through Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube. The results show that digital media plays a strategic role in disseminating the values ​​of Wasathiyah Islam through multi-platform da'wah, digital religious literacy, and the production of counter-narratives against extremist ideologies. The implementation of digital Wasathiyah Islam is carried out through strengthening the role of Muslim preachers and influencers, the formation of a cyber da'wah team, and collaboration between religious and state institutions, particularly the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology. This study concludes that strengthening Wasathiyah Islam in the digital space is a strategic step in building inclusive and sustainable religious moderation in Indonesia.

Abstract

Primary education is a crucial stage in establishing the foundation of students' knowledge, skills, and learning behavior. Nevertheless, various academic problems often emerge in elementary schools, such as difficulties in comprehending lessons, low learning motivation, and limited active participation. This research employs a literature review method with a qualitative approach to analyze the causes of academic issues in elementary schools. The findings reveal that internal factors involve motivation and learning interest, emotional intelligence and self-confidence, metacognitive skills and time management, as well as physical condition and health. Meanwhile, external factors include the family environment, school environment, peer influence, and social environment, as well as the utilization of technology and gadgets. A deep understanding of both types of factors is highly necessary for teachers and parents to develop flexible and responsive educational approaches to enhance the quality of learning.

Abstract

This study aims to describe teacher innovations in increasing student learning interest through educational poster-based visual learning in Indonesian language subjects. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type. The study was conducted at SD Negeri 1 Bendo, Pedan District, Klaten Regency. Data collection techniques included non-participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation with the research subjects of the principal, Indonesian language teachers, and fifth-grade students. Data validity was tested through triangulation of sources and techniques. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of data condensation, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study showed that teacher innovations were carried out by creating a pleasant learning atmosphere, linking the material to the context of everyday life, holding question and answer sessions, using various learning media, and adjusting the lesson plan to students' abilities. The use of educational poster-based visual media was able to increase student learning interest as shown through feelings of joy, interest, attention, and active involvement of students in Indonesian language learning.

Abstract

Monitoring scientific publication trends is crucial for understanding the development of research topics and identifying open areas for study. This study aims to analyze research trends on Parental Involvement in Early Childhood School Readiness during the 2023–2025 period. The method used is bibliometric analysis with data collected through Google Scholar-based Publish or Perish (PoP). A total of 132 articles were analyzed using VOSviewer through three visualization types: Network Visualization, Overlay Visualization, and Density Visualization to identify keyword linkage patterns, theme developments based on publication year, and the density of frequently studied topics. The results show that the number of publications peaked in 2023 and experienced a significant decline in 2024–2025, indicating a shift in research focus post-pandemic. The network analysis revealed 14 main clusters, with central themes such as parental involvement, school readiness skills, childhood education, parenting, early literacy, and the mediating role of the family environment. The overlay visualization shows that topics related to digital literacy, parent-child collaboration, and parental beliefs are the latest trends. Overall, this study provides a comprehensive overview of publication dynamics and identifies opportunities for further research in the development of evidence-based programs for early childhood education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the hadiths of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) related to Muslim solidarity in responding to humanitarian crises in Sudan and Palestine. The prolonged crises in both regions require Muslim engagement that goes beyond emotional empathy and is grounded in the normative values of Islamic teachings. This research employs a qualitative approach using the tahlili method, which involves an in-depth analysis of hadiths through the examination of their chains of transmission (isnad), textual content (matn), historical context (asbāb al-wurūd), and substantive interpretation. The findings show that hadiths concerning ukhuwah Islamiyah (Islamic brotherhood), mutual assistance, empathy, and social responsibility have strong relevance in fostering collective awareness among Muslims regarding the suffering of their fellow believers. From the perspective of hadith, solidarity is not merely symbolic or rhetorical, but necessitates concrete, sustained, and well-organized actions oriented toward the realization of public welfare (maslahah). This study is expected to enrich thematic hadith studies and provide a conceptual contribution to strengthening Muslim humanitarian solidarity in addressing contemporary global crises.

Abstract

Unstructured financial management remains a major problem for many Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), particularly in the culinary sector. Ayam Goreng Karawaci, a culinary MSME, still uses manual financial records, which poses a risk of recording errors, late reporting, and difficulty in monitoring financial conditions in real time. This study aims to design an automated budget planning, cash flow recording, and financial reporting system that can improve the efficiency and accuracy of financial management. The research methods used include observation, interviews, and documentation studies, as well as a Unified Modeling Language (UML)-based system design approach. The results show that the automated financial system can simplify transaction recording, reduce calculation errors, and produce financial reports quickly and accurately. The implementation of this system is expected to assist MSMEs in making more informed business decisions based on valid financial data.

Abstract

Research in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) faces dynamic challenges alongside the changes in the era of globalization and the post-pandemic period. This article aims to map the characteristics of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies and identify crucial issues in PAI during the 2020–2025 period. Through literature analysis, it was found that qualitative research is highly relevant for exploring deep meanings of religious practices, while quantitative research is necessary to test the effectiveness of learning models. Key issues identified include the impact of online learning, the moral degradation of the younger generation, intolerance, and the challenges of teacher competence in the digital era. The results of the study conclude that PAI requires an adaptive and solutive research approach to maintain the relevance of religious values amidst modernity. Additionally, external factors such as the impact of post-pandemic online learning, moral degradation, and radicalism further complicate PAI challenges in the digital era. The study concludes that comprehensive reform is needed in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of learning, supported by appropriate research methodologies to maintain the relevance of PAI as a strategic instrument for developing a generation with noble character.

Abstract

This paper examines the strategic role of multicultural education in preventing bullying within the school environment. In the context of Indonesia as a diverse nation, multicultural education is positioned as an approach that fosters tolerance, empathy, justice, and respect for differences in culture, religion, ethnicity, and social status among students. The paper describes the concept, objectives, and urgency of multicultural education, and analyzes the forms, causes, and impacts of bullying, including physical, verbal, and psychological dimensions as well as the emergence of new perpetrators. Drawing on findings from studies conducted in primary schools, secondary schools, and Islamic boarding schools, it concludes that multicultural education is effective in reducing bullying by strengthening students’ civic disposition and inclusive social attitudes. Practical implementations discussed include curriculum integration, classroom and extracurricular programs, the establishment of anti-violence task forces, and school culture management that explicitly promotes anti-discrimination and anti-bullying values. Thus, multicultural education is presented as a key solution for shaping democratic, humanistic, and pluralistic student character in a plural society.

Abstract

This study aims to describe in depth (1) the implementation of the outdoor learning method through the use of the environment as a learning resource in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) learning in grade IV of Candra Kasih Elementary School, North Denpasar District, (2) the obstacles and efforts faced in implementing the method, and (3) its impact on the learning process and outcomes of students. The background of this study is the low involvement and motivation to learn due to the dominance of the lecture method which makes learning passive and less contextual. The study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with observation, interview, documentation, and literature study techniques. The research subjects consisted of homeroom teachers and students. Data analysis refers to the Miles and Huberman model through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions/verification based on the pattern of findings and source triangulation. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of outdoor learning through the use of the school environment provides a contextual and enjoyable learning experience, and increases the active involvement of students. The environment is used as a concrete learning resource that connects the IPAS concept with everyday life through exploration of the school area and the use of real objects. This approach improves conceptual understanding, critical thinking skills, collaboration, and reflection. Obstacles that arose included time constraints, teacher preparedness in designing outdoor activities, and weather conditions. Efforts included thorough planning, collaboration with colleagues, and adapting activities to field conditions. Overall, the outdoor learning method had a positive impact on students' learning motivation, observation skills, and understanding of science concepts.
