Abstract

The implementation of Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) subject within the context of Kurikulum Merdeka encounters several obstacles in developing 21st-century competencies. Problem identification results at SDN Pemurus Baru 2 Banjarmasin indicate minimal active student participation during the learning process, weak analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities, and ineffective teamwork and collaboration activities. This situation is further exacerbated by the limited creativity of educators in implementing innovative learning model and media variations. The purpose of this research is to optimize learning participation, critical thinking skills, and cooperative attitudes of fourth-grade students in IPAS subject with a focus on "Stories About My Region" material through the implementation of the PANORAMA learning model at SDN Pemurus Baru 2 Banjarmasin. The PANORAMA model is a synthesis of four learning approaches including Problem Based Learning, Number Head Together, SAVI (Somatic, Auditory, Visualization and Intellectually), and Make a Match that is constructed to facilitate students in exploring knowledge independently with a comprehensive perspective. The research approach applied is classroom action research (CAR) implemented at SDN Pemurus Baru 2 Banjarmasin with fourth-grade students as research subjects. This research design is focused on evaluating the progress of student learning participation, critical thinking abilities, and cooperative attitudes through the implementation of the PANORAMA learning model in the context of IPAS learning. Based on the problem identification that has been outlined, this research is projected to generate substantial improvements in student learning participation, development of critical thinking abilities that encompass competencies in asking appropriate questions, analyzing arguments, and overcoming problems, as well as strengthening cooperative attitudes that include interpersonal communication, leadership spirit, and group problem resolution. The PANORAMA model is expected to serve as an alternative solution in addressing IPAS learning problems in the Kurikulum Merdeka era and contribute to the formation of Pancasila student profiles that align with 21st-century needs

Abstract

Teachers' professional competence plays an important role in creating a meaningful learning process and influences the development of students' creativity. This study aims to determine the level of teachers' professional competence, the level of students' creativity, and the influence of teachers' professional competence on students' creativity in the subject of Islamic History at the Darussalam Ciomas Bogor Islamic Boarding School. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method. Data were obtained through questionnaires distributed to 100 students. The instruments were tested using validity and reliability tests, and analyzed using prerequisite tests (normality and linearity), Pearson correlation tests, and simple linear regression tests. The results of the study showed that teachers' professional competence and students' creativity were in the high category. There is a significant influence between teacher professional competence on student creativity with a significance value of 0.000 and a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.644. The determination coefficient value (R²) of 0.415 indicates that 41.5% of the variation in student creativity is influenced by teacher professional competence. It can be concluded that the higher the teacher's professional competence, the higher the student's creativity in learning Islamic History. Therefore, increasing teacher competence is an important factor in supporting innovative and creative learning processes in Islamic boarding schools

Abstract

In elementary schools, civic education (PPKn) is still predominantly centered on traditional teacher-centered approaches. These approaches do not actively engage students and do not help them develop critical thinking skills.  This study tested the TANGGAP learning model, which integrates three approaches: Problem Based Learning (PBL), Numbered Head Together (NHT), and Talking Stick, to improve student activity, critical thinking skills, and learning outcomes. The study was conducted in two cycles on 17 students in fourth grade at SDN Kebun Bunga 3 Banjarmasin. Rubric evaluasi critical thinking, observation sheets for student and teacher activities, and learning outcome tests. Using descriptive quantitative analysis, the data were analyzed to determine the percentage increase for each indicator. The results showed that the TANGGAP model is effective in raising the quality of civics learning in elementary schools by encouraging students to actively participate, work together, and mastery their material. The increase in student activity was 41% to 94%, critical thinking skills was 35% to 88%, and learning mastery was 47% to 94%.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the Comparison of the Effectiveness of Natural Ingredient Compounds against ACE Inhibitors in Hypertension. Hypertension is a chronic disease with an increasing prevalence due to changes in modern lifestyle. The use of ACE inhibitors (ACEIs) such as captopril and benazepril is a pharmacological therapy that is commonly used to control blood pressure. This study aims to compare the effectiveness of synthetic ACEI compounds with natural ingredient compounds based on the mechanism of action and pharmacokinetic aspects. The method used was in the form of a literature review from various online scientific sources by selecting as many as three main journals as references, each discussing pharmacokinetics, bioequivalence, and clinical applications of ACE Inhibitors., with source search conducted through Google Scholar. The results of the study showed that natural compounds as antihypertensive agents, including flavonoids, chlorogenic acid, catechins, phenolic compounds, saponins, α-linolenic acid (ALA), terpenoids, essential oils, Triacetonamine, and hydrophobic (HAA) and aromatic (AAA) amino acids. These compounds work through various mechanisms, such as inhibiting the activity of the ACE enzyme, increasing the production of nitric oxide (NO) for vasodilation, regulating the expression of genes such as PPARγ (Peroxisome Proliferator-Activated Receptor Gamma), decreasing the secretion of the hormones aldosterone and ADH, stabilizing the sympathetic nervous system, and providing anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects. These various lines of action, both affecting the RAAS and non-RAS systems, have great potential as complementary therapies or effective and safe alternatives for the management of long-term hypertension.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out the Use of Quizizz Media  to Increase Students' Learning Interest in the Material on the Relationship between Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution at SMK Negeri 1 Bancak. One of the subjects in Indonesia is Pancasila Education. Topics that will be discussed in the Pancasila Education subject include Pancasila as the basis of the Indonesian state, the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia as a source of law, and the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia which explains how Indonesia became a republic-shaped state. The purpose of this study is to effectively use Quizizz to increase students' interest in learning in the subject of the relationship between Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution at SMK Negeri 1 Bancak. The population in this study is 39 students in class X TKR A at SMK 1 Bancak. This study used a sample of 39 students of class X TKR A at SMK Negeri 1 Bancak. The data collection methods used include observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis method uses data triangulation which includes data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions or data verification. The results of this study show that the Quizizz media  at SMK Negeri 1 Bancak can increase students' interest in learning in the material on the relationship between Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution because it presents interactive, fun, and competitive learning. The game feature and live feedback from Quizizz make students more enthusiastic, focused, and active in understanding the material, making the learning process more interesting and less monotonous. Given the importance of technology skills in the modern world, students are advised to continue honing their skills in using other learning technology platforms.

Abstract

Students, as representatives of the digital generation, are expected to possess adequate data literacy skills to manage, analyze, and convey data-based information in a critical and responsible manner. In this context, statistics serves as an important foundation in developing these skills. However, many students still face challenges in understanding and applying statistical concepts. This is due to several factors, such as a less applicable learning approach, low interest in statistics courses, and limited mastery of supporting technology. This study aims to identify various obstacles faced by students in utilizing statistics as a data analysis tool. Through a qualitative approach based on literature review, it was found that the gap between theory and practice, minimal use of technology, and a lack of integration between real-life contexts and statistics learning are the main factors hindering the effectiveness of statistics learning in higher education. Therefore, innovation in teaching methods, strengthening digital competencies, and a contextual approach are needed so that statistics can function not only as theory but also as a thinking tool that is applicable in students' daily lives.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of school accreditation on the increase in the number of new high school students in Barito Kuala Regency. The problem raised in this study is how school accreditation influences prospective students' decisions in choosing a school and how much impact it has on the number of new student enrollments. The approach used in this study is quantitative, with data analysis using inductive statistical methods (inferential statistics) and data processing carried out using Microsoft Office Excel software. The type of data used is time series data with an observation period of the last three years from 2022 to 2024. The data used in this study is secondary data obtained by third-party processing, sourced from official publication reports of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), Dapodikdasmen, School/Field Data, and Literature Studies. The results of the study show that schools with A accreditation consistently have a higher number of new students compared to schools with B and C accreditation. However, schools with B accreditation still show high competitiveness like schools with A accreditation. Meanwhile, schools with C accreditation have a lower number of students, although it remains stable. Accreditation has been proven to influence public perception and serve as a quality indicator that plays a role in parents' and students' school choices. Therefore, improving school quality through accreditation is crucial for increasing school attractiveness and increasing the number of new students.

Abstract

This study aims to test the effect of the JASPER method to improve social communication in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder in the Teluk Gong area of ​​North Jakarta. This study uses a quantitative experimental approach with a one-group pretest-posttest design involving 10 children with Autism Spectrum Disorder aged 2 to 12 years as samples. The instruments used are the JASPER method module as a guide when conducting treatment and a Social Communication Skills questionnaire with adequate validity and reliability tests. Data analysis used is univariate analysis to see the frequency of distribution and percentage of each variable and the Wilcoxon bivariate test using SPSS 27, 2020. The results of the study indicate the effect of the JASPER method to improve social communication in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder in the Teluk Gong area of ​​North Jakarta (r = 0.005, p <0.05) meaning there is an effect between before and after being given the JASPER method intervention/treatment. These findings indicate that the JASPER method is a proven method to help children with Autism Spectrum Disorder to improve their social communication skills. This research hopes to be a reference for speech therapists, educators, parents, future researchers and professional organizations.

Abstract

This study examines voice problems among speech therapists as professionals who rely on vocal function in clinical practice. The study aims to map the profile of symptomatic voice problems and identify determining factors among speech therapists in Sumatran hospitals. The research design employed a descriptive quantitative approach with a cross-sectional method. The sampling technique applied purposive sampling involving 70 respondents from a total population of 161 therapists. Data collection used the Voice Handicap Index (VHI) questionnaire with descriptive statistical analysis and non-parametric Mann-Whitney and Kruskal-Wallis tests. The findings revealed an average VHI score of 12.86 (SD=10.653) with 91.4% of participants in the no impairment to mild impairment category. Statistical analysis showed no significant correlation between variables of voice use duration, noisy work environment, speaking patterns, throat clearing frequency, and caffeine consumption with VHI scores (p-value > 0.05). However, a trend of increasing VHI scores was observed among therapists working in noisy environments, those with loud speaking habits, and frequent throat clearing. Professional expertise and optimal vocal hygiene practices are suspected to be the main protective factors in maintaining voice health among speech therapists in the Sumatra region. Overall, speech therapists in Sumatran hospitals generally do not experience serious symptomatic voice problems. Professional competence and vocal hygiene implementation are presumed to be dominant protective factors. It is recommended that speech therapists maintain vocal hygiene practices, and that institutions conduct regular voice health training.

Abstract

This study aims to produce natural vinegar from corn extract (Zea mays L.) through a two-stage fermentation process: alcoholic fermentation using Saccharomyces cerevisiae followed by acetic acid fermentation using Acetobacter aceti. The evaluation included physical observation, pH measurement, lactic acid bacteria (LAB) testing, organoleptic assessment, and determination of acetic acid concentration through titration. The results indicated notable physical changes during fermentation, with pH decreasing from approximately 7 to 6 over 7–14 days, accompanied by the emergence of a distinctive vinegar aroma that signified acetic acid formation. LAB activity was confirmed by colony growth on Nutrient Agar (NA) media, demonstrating their role in establishing an acidic environment favorable for the second fermentation stage. Overall, the findings show that corn extract has strong potential as a fermentation substrate for natural vinegar production using a biological process.
