Abstract

Based on data that was extracted from Indonesia Central Bureau of Statistics there were has been theft cases as much as 125.869 times during 2015, consists of Crime against Property / Goods with Violence 11.856 cases, and Crimes against Property / Goods Non-Violent 114.013 cases, theft often occurs in empty homes that no occupants, theft is also common in homes that have security cameras, cameras that were installed cannot provide prevention or warning to homeowners. It can be anticipated if the homeowner gets information about the condition of the house in real time wherever he is. This technology is designed to created smart home system that was integrated by the security method especially in face recognition, Eigenface method as the image processing method used to detect home occupants to avoid thieves, the core of this method is to compare the eigenface value of the captured image with the eigenface value present in the database, the smaller difference between the eigenface training image in the database with the eigenface test face it can be concluded that the image has a higher similarity, greater differences,  will make the system detect that an unknown person is entering the house, and will send a warning message to the homeowner via cell phone about danger that is occurs.

Abstract

The objectives of the research are (1) to identify teachers’ beliefs in teaching, (2) to identify the factors that influence their belief and practice in teaching, and (3) to identify the implementation of teachers’ beliefs in teaching. The subjects of the research are two mathematics teachers. The data are collected through observation, interview, and document analysis. Interactive models from Miles and Huberman were used to examine the data. The findings of this research are: (1) there are some similarities and differences between teachers’ beliefs in a teaching of accountancy and tourism teachers. The similarities and differences are in education and teaching and in curricula. Meanwhile, in teaching profession, the teachers have same beliefs, (2) there are seven factors which affect teachers’ beliefs and practice in teaching that consist of teaching experience, learning experience, classroom management, student’s family, students’ colleagues, motivation, and teaching media, and (3) dealing with teaching practice, accountancy teacher does continuous teaching in which one genre is taught continuously to the next meeting, while tourism teacher does one finished teaching in which one genre is taught in one meeting. In their teaching practice, there are some beliefs about education and teaching and about curricula are not implemented, while beliefs about teaching profession are implemented. The inconsistency between teachers’ beliefs and teaching practices is caused by affecting factors revealed by the teachers. Therefore, it is important for teachers to reduce the factors that impede the smoothness of teachers’ beliefs in teaching practice or even change their teaching belief if it cannot facilitate students to learn.

Abstract

Utilization human body with unique way to distinguish between one person and another already widely used in research. Biometric is a method for recognizing humans based on one or more physical characteristics or unique behaviors. Many previous researches of hand gestures used to control devices and identification. In This paper, we discusses the use of structure from motion method for optimization hand gesture. Structure from Motion ( SFM ) is the process to estimating the structure of 3-D shape from the series of 2-D images. The goal is to estimate the pose of the camera calibration results bits of the image to be reconstructed into a 3-D structure, from the scene and the scale factor is not known, then recover the actual scale factor by displaying an object of known size. The results from the trial by reconstructing four (4) drawing hand pieces and matched by detecting a hand gesture (3-D), from the stage of the process generated frame 2 + 3: match rate slightly (0) => relax SIFT threshold to 0.7 to 0 matches => SIFT relax the threshold to 0.8 with 2 matches => SIFT relax the threshold to 0.9 with 18 matches => SIFT relax threshold to 0.95 with 42 matches. From the test results obtained by the degree of fit pieces of the picture (2-D) to the whole image (3-D) resulted in 53,85% accuracy value.
