Abstract

The low student interest and motivation in learning are among the contributing factors to poor academic achievement. One potential solution to address this issue is the integration of digital technology based on game-based learning, such as the Quizizz application. This study aims to examine the impact of using Quizizz on improving students' interest and motivation in learning mathematics through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. The SLR process includes identifying the research focus and questions, searching for relevant articles, selecting articles based on specific criteria, and analyzing the selected studies. Data were collected from various journal articles published between 2019 and 2025, accessed through Google Scholar, Search, Garuda, and other databases, using predetermined inclusion criteria. The analysis results show that the use of Quizizz consistently has a positive impact on mathematics learning. The application not only facilitates access to quiz questions but also creates a fun and interactive learning environment. Moreover, Quizizz has been proven to enhance content mastery, promote active student engagement, and strengthen learning motivation. Therefore, Quizizz can be considered an effective alternative digital learning medium for increasing student interest, motivation, participation, conceptual understanding, and engagement in mathematics education.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis secara statistik pengaruh media sosial terhadap konsumsi makanan sehat di kalangan remaja. Seiring dengan pesatnya perkembangan teknologi digital, media sosial menjadi faktor penting yang memengaruhi pola pikir dan perilaku, termasuk dalam pemilihan makanan. Remaja sebagai pengguna utama media sosial sangat rentan terhadap pengaruh konten digital seperti kampanye kesehatan, tren makanan, dan promosi produk oleh influencer. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei melalui penyebaran kuesioner tertutup yang diambil secara random kepada 65 responden berusia 13 hingga 18 tahun. Hasil analisis menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif yang signifikan antara intensitas paparan konten makanan sehat di media sosial dengan kebiasaan konsumsi makanan sehat pada remaja. Sebanyak 68,4% responden mengaku keputusan mereka dalam memilih makanan sehat dipengaruhi oleh konten yang diperoleh melalui media sosial. Temuan ini menegaskan peran strategis media sosial sebagai sarana edukasi yang efektif dalam mendukung promosi pola makan sehat di kalangan remaja.

Abstract

Developments in the 21st century require adaptation in various aspects of life, including education. However, there are challenges in improving the quality of education as stated in SDGs point 4. One of the success indicators of SDGs point 4 is numeracy literacy. Numeracy literacy is the skill in using various numbers and symbols related to basic mathematics to solve practical problems in a particular context. Media that can improve numeracy literacy skills are comics and e-comics. The purpose of this study is to describe how the application of comics and e-comics to improve numeracy literacy based on publication year, education level, and how the effect of comics and e-comics in improving numeracy literacy. The research method used is Systematic Literature Review (SLR) with the following stages: 1) development of research questions, 2) determination of selection criteria, 3) development of search strategy, 4) study selection process, 5) appraising the quality of studies, and 6) synthesis of results. The data collection technique was carried out by reviewing articles related to the comics or e-comics to improve numeracy literacy skills in articles published in 2021-2025. Through Google Scholar and Scopus, 16 articles were found. The results of this study show that comics and e-comics can improve literacy and numeracy skills.

Abstract

This research is classified as descriptive qualitative research. The type of research is a case study. The subjects in this study were three students in the Geometry of Plane and Space course. The research instrument used was a question related to the concept of similarity, along with Newman's error analysis sheet, to identify the type of error. The data analysis technique used was to identify and classify errors in students' answers related to questions on the concept of similarity. According to Newman, the answers were further analyzed to describe the types of errors that arise from each category and formulate alternative solutions that can be done to overcome the various types of errors. Based on Newman Error Analysis, the types of errors experienced by students include Comprehension Errors, Transformation Errors, and Process Skills Errors. These types of errors are related to students' lack of understanding regarding the requirements for two triangles to be said to be similar; students are less skilled when carrying out the proof process, which requires supporting information when stating a statement in the proof process, and students' lack of mastery in using the Pythagorean Theorem. Alternative solutions include emphasizing several key aspects related to the concept of similarity, both in terms of the conditions for two triangles to be considered similar and the application of the similarity theorem. It requires considerable practice in constructing mathematical proofs and utilizing the Pythagorean Theorem. Recommendations for subsequent researchers include exploring the types of errors in the concept of similarity in more varied contexts.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out whether learning media based on android kodular and wordwall has an effect in improving students' understanding in solving math problems. The fundamental problems faced include the use of learning media still using the lecture method, the lack of interesting learning media in junior high schools, and students still have difficulty in solving problems. The research used is ADDIE which consists of five stages, namely: 1) Analysis; 2) Design; 3) Development; 4) Implementation; and 5) Evaluation. The test subjects in this development research were students of class VIII A SMPN 2 Tegalsari which is one of the schools in Banyuwangi Regency totaling 29 students. The results showed that the learning process using android-based learning media codular and wordwall had a major influence on improving students' mathematical problem solving. This can be seen in the validation results obtained validity of learning media with a score of 97.06% with the criteria “very valid”. Based on the results of the student response questionnaire with a total of 24 students who assessed the practicality of learning media obtained a score of 87.8% with the criteria “very practical”. In addition, based on the results of improving students' mathematical problem solving skills, during the pretest, 29 students obtained an average score of 35.1, while in the posttest an average score of 35.1 was obtained. This shows that the use of learning media based on android kodular and wordwall is effective in improving students' mathematical problem solving skills

Abstract

This study was conducted with the aim of examining whether the time token learning model affects the motivation to learn mathematics of class VII students at SMPN 5 Mandau during the 2023/2024 school year. This research is a quantitative study, using a Likert-scale questionnaire to collect numerical data and using the t-test to analyze the hypothesis statistically. The research design used is The Static Group Comparison Design. The population studied included all class VII students at SMPN 5 Mandau. Sampling was carried out randomly by applying normality checking techniques, homogeneity, and testing the comparison of the mean data from the group. The effect of the time token learning model on the motivation to learn mathematics was tested by making students in class VII-3 as the experimental class and class VII-1 as the control class. The instrument used to measure learning motivation was a motivation questionnaire. By utilizing SPSS Software for further analysis, it produced a significance value of 0.02 with a confidence level of 0.05, indicating that the significance value is smaller than ????. Based on the findings of this study, it is known that the application of the Time Token learning model has a significant impact in strengthening the motivation to learn mathematics for students in class VII of SMPN 5 Mandau.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the relationship between students’ mathematical critical thinking ability and their motivation to learn mathematics, specifically on the topic of Systems of Linear Equations in Two Variables (SPLDV) among junior high school students. The research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational method. The independent variable in this study is students’ motivation to learn mathematics, while the dependent variable is their mathematical critical thinking ability. The population consisted of junior high school students in Karawang Regency, and the sample comprised 33 students from a selected public junior high school using simple random sampling, ensuring each student had an equal opportunity to be selected as a participant. Data were analyzed using simple linear regression to examine the influence of learning motivation on students’ mathematical critical thinking ability. The findings indicate a positive and statistically significant relationship between students’ motivation to learn mathematics and their mathematical critical thinking ability. Specifically, learning motivation contributed 39.05% to students' critical thinking skills, with the remaining 60.95% influenced by other unexamined factors. These results underscore the pivotal role of learning motivation in enhancing students’ critical thinking in mathematics, particularly in the context of SPLDV. It is anticipated that these findings may serve as a valuable reference for educators in designing instructional strategies that simultaneously foster learning motivation and promote the development of mathematical critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the effect of mathematical literacy skills on the problem solving skills of grade IX students. The method used was ex post facto research with a quantitative approach. The study population included all ninth grade students at SMPN 1 Telagasari. The sampling used simple random sampling technique to obtain a sample of 38 students from class IX H. The research was conducted in one meeting, where the research instruments in the form of mathematical literacy tests and problem solving tests were distributed to all students in the sample class. The data collection technique was carried out through giving written tests which were arranged based on the ability indicators of each variable. Data analysis using covariance analysis technique showed that mathematical literacy ability has an influence of 19.4% on students problem solving ability. This finding shows the importance of mathematical literacy in supporting students problem solving skills.

Abstract

Education is one of the important factors in improving the quality of human resources in a country. This study was motivated by the low problem-solving ability in Mathematics subjects of grade 5 students of SDN Tegalrejo 04 Salatiga. This study is a classroom action research with the aim of improving problem-solving abilities through the Problem Based-Learning learning model using a model developed by Kemmis and MC. Taggart. The data collection techniques used were interviews and written tests. The instruments used were interview guidelines and assessment question sheets. Data analysis conducted in this study was quantitative data analysis and qualitative data analysis. The indicators of success in this study include 1) if the results of the problem-solving ability test have been completed to reach a value of ≥ 70 classically, 2) if the results of the problem-solving ability test of students have been completed to ≥ 75% classically. The results of this study increased from the pre-cycle reaching 31.25%, cycle I reaching 50%, and cycle II reaching 81.25%. Based on these data, this study shows that the problem-based learning model is able to improve the problem-solving abilities of grade 5 students.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the interests of Information Systems students in elective courses offered by the program. The objective of this research is to determine the extent to which students tend to choose courses based on their interests and the relevance of those courses to their future careers. The research is categorized as quantitative, using a non-experimental approach and descriptive method. The data used in this study are quantitative in nature, consisting of numerical values obtained from 50 students who voluntarily expressed their preferences for three elective courses: Data Mining, Machine Learning, and Interactive Educational Applications. After the data were collected, they were processed using percentage analysis to determine the distribution of student interest in each course. The results were then presented in the form of diagrams to provide a clearer visual representation. Based on the research findings, the results show that: 1) The Data Mining course ranked first with the highest level of interest, at 66%. Most students chose this course because it is considered more beneficial for future careers and easier to understand. 2) In second place was the Machine Learning course, with an interest level of 18%, where students were drawn to the subject due to its alignment with their personal interests. 3) Finally, Interactive Educational Applications ranked third with 16%, with most students selecting it based on recommendations from their Academic Advisors.
