Abstract

This study aims to develop and evaluate the feasibility of a Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS)-based learning material for the topic of ecosystems and environmental change for Grade X senior high school students. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach following the ADDIE development model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, expert validation, and practicality testing. Product validity was assessed by experts in content, language, and media, while practicality was examined through questionnaires administered to three biology teachers and 34 Grade X students at SMA Negeri 1 Sawan. Data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative methods. The validation results indicate a Gregory Validity Coefficient of 1, signifying a very high level of validity. Practicality tests yielded scores of 91.66% from teachers and 90.34% from students, both categorized as highly practical. The final product is a HOTS-based learning material integrated with Google Sites, featuring interactive content, digital worksheets, instructional videos, educational games, and online assessments. The study concludes that the developed learning material is valid, practical, and has the potential to enhance student engagement and critical thinking skills in alignment with the demands of 21st-century learning.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the physical characteristics of cabbage (Brassica oleracea) vegetable waste silage due to the use of pollard as an additive. This study used an experimental method and was designed using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 4 replicates. The treatments were P0= Cabbage vegetable waste without pollard, P1= Cabbage vegetable waste + 3% pollard, P2: Cabbage vegetable waste + 6% pollard, P3: Cabbage vegetable waste + pollard 9%. Physical characteristics variables measured were color, texture, aroma, mold, and pH. Physical characteristics were observed using organoleptic test score instructions from 15 panelists. Data were analyzed using Kruskal-Wallis Analysis followed by Mann-Whitney. The pH value was measured using a pH meter and the data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and continued with Duncan's Multiple Range Test. The results showed that the use of pollard had a significant effect (P0.05). It was concluded that the use of pollard bran in making cabbage vegetable waste silage (Brassica oleracea) produces a good effect on the physical characteristics of cabbage vegetable waste silage and the best level of pollard bran use as an additive is 9%.

Abstract

This study aims to describe patterns, potentials-challenges, and formulate a synergy framework of active learning models and Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) in science learning through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) guided by PRISMA on empirical articles published between 2021–2025. A total of 12 articles that met the inclusion criteria were analyzed thematically. The review identified five main roles of GenAI, namely as a co-inquirer, co-reflector, co-designer/co-researcher, personal tutor, and cognitive scaffolding, which are integrated into various active learning models such as inquiry-based learning, problem-based learning, project-based learning, experiential learning, Collaborative Action Research, and self-directed learning. This integration contributes to the enhancement of conceptual understanding, higher-order thinking skills, reflection, and personalized learning, while also presenting challenges such as dependency, limitations of AI reasoning, bias, issues of work authenticity, and the need for pedagogical and ethical readiness. Based on these findings, a synergy framework was developed that emphasizes the integration of pedagogical dimensions, GenAI functions, ethical regulations, AI literacy, and data-driven evaluation loops as the foundation for the sustainable development of GenAI-assisted science learning practices.

Abstract

Identification of Community Vulnerability to Forest and Land Fires in Tumbang Nusa Village. Lecturer, Forestry Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry, Muhammadiyah University of Palangkaraya. The Tumbang Nusa Village area is characterized by peatlands that are prone to fire. Coupled with community activities that depend on land use, the risk of forest and land fires is relatively high and has a significant impact on social, economic, and public health. Forest and land fire control is necessary, one of which is prevention. This study aims to identify the level of community vulnerability to forest and land fires in Tumbang Nusa Village, Central Kalimantan. Vulnerability analysis was conducted based on the components of exposure, sensitivity, and adaptive capacity of the community using qualitative and quantitative descriptive approaches. The results indicate that the community's level of vulnerability is moderate to high, influenced by high exposure due to the proximity of settlements to peatlands, high socioeconomic sensitivity, and low adaptive capacity. Biophysical, social, economic, and institutional factors are the main determinants of vulnerability. Therefore, increasing community adaptive capacity through institutional strengthening, increased knowledge, and the provision of firefighting infrastructure is a key strategy for reducing the risk of forest and land fires.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the difference in critical thinking skills between students who learn using the Think Pair Share learning model assisted by Mind Mapping and students who are taught using the Direct Instruction model. The type of research is a quasi-experiment with a Randomized Nonequivalent Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The research sample consists of 10th grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Kubutambahan who were selected randomly by lottery. Based on the results of random class selection, class X.5 was selected as the experimental class, which used the Think Pair Share model assisted by Mind Mapping, and class X.6 was selected as the control class, which used the Direct Instruction model. The instrument used in this study was an essay test related to indicators of students' critical thinking skills. The data were analyzed using quantitative descriptive analysis and independent samples t-tests to determine the difference in critical thinking skills between students who learned using the Think Pair Share learning model assisted by Mind Mapping and students who were taught using the Direct Instruction model. The hypothesis test results showed that the value of ???? = 0.0001, which means that there was a significant difference in critical thinking skills between students who learned using the Think Pair Share learning model assisted by Mind Mapping and students who were taught using the Direct Instruction model. The improvement in critical thinking skills of students in the experimental class was 45.41% better than the control class that used the Direct Instruction model

Abstract

The background of the research is the lack of student learning independence and the absence of interesting learning media. To be able to learn independently, students need digital learning media to be used using Smartphones. In Augmented Reality media, there are not only text and images, students can also see objects in real images of a media. This study aims to determine the analysis of teacher and student needs for Augmented Reality-based learning media at SMPN 8 Sungai Kakap. To collect information using literature study and field study methods. Data analysis techniques used in this study used descriptive and percentage tests. The results of the study show that the analysis of student needs for the use of Augmented Reality-based learning media, especially in Informatics subjects at SMPN 8 Sungai Kakap assumes to develop AR-based learning media with a percentage of 93% in the analysis of the need for facilities for AR-based media. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effects of parenting styles, exclusive breastfeeding, and environmental sanitation on the nutritional status of toddlers at the Wilamaci Village Posyandu in Monta Subdistrict, Bima Regency. This study employed a quantitative method with an analytical observational approach and a cross-sectional design. The study sample consisted of 51 mothers of toddlers at the Wilamaci Village Posyandu, selected using simple random sampling. Data were collected through face-to-face interviews and questionnaires, and the data were analyzed using Pearson’s correlation test and the chi-square test. The results of the study showed that the nutritional status of toddlers consisted of 20 toddlers (39.2%) in the normal category, 9 toddlers (17.6%) in the stunted category, and 22 toddlers (43.1%) in the severely stunted category. Based on the correlation test results, only the exclusive breastfeeding indicator had a significant relationship with the nutritional status of toddlers (r = -0.279; p = 0.048). Meanwhile, parenting practices and environmental sanitation did not show a significant relationship because their p-values were greater than 0.05 (p > 0.05). In terms of respondent characteristics, the majority of mothers were aged 26-30 years (70.6%), had completed high school (70.6%), and were homemakers (92.2%). This study concludes that exclusive breastfeeding is the most dominant factor associated with the nutritional status of toddlers at the Wilamaci Village Posyandu. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen education on the benefits of exclusive breastfeeding, the implementation of responsive parenting practices, and good environmental sanitation practices through Posyandu activities and cross-sectoral collaboration

Abstract

This research aims to improve the collaboration skills and scientific literacy of fifth-grade elementary school students through the implementation of the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) approach in science learning. The study employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) method based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model, conducted in two cycles consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The participants were 25 fifth-grade students from a public elementary school. Data were collected through observations, scientific literacy tests, documentation, and teacher reflection notes. Collaboration skills were measured using observation sheets, while scientific literacy was assessed through tests based on OECD indicators, including explaining scientific phenomena, evaluating and designing scientific investigations, and interpreting scientific data and evidence. The results showed a gradual improvement in students’ collaboration skills and scientific literacy from the pre-cycle to the second cycle. The percentage of students categorized as good and very good in collaboration skills increased from 32% in the pre-cycle to 76% in the second cycle. Meanwhile, the proportion of students achieving high and very high levels of scientific literacy rose from 40% to 80%. These findings indicate that the STEM approach is effective in fostering collaborative, contextual, and meaningful learning experiences. Therefore, the STEM approach is recommended as an alternative strategy in elementary science education to enhance students’ collaboration skills and scientific literacy.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the mathematical elements found in the traditional clothing of the Dayak Kenyah tribe, particularly the Ta’a and Sapei Sapaq attire. This research employs a case study approach, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. This approach allows the researcher to explore in depth the activities, processes, and meanings embedded in the research object. The results indicate that various mathematical concepts are integrated into the motifs and patterns of the traditional clothing. The identified mathematical elements include plane geometric shapes such as triangles, rectangles, and circles. In addition, concepts of plane geometry such as symmetry and pattern repetition were also found, reflecting order and mathematical structure in the clothing design. These findings demonstrate that traditional clothing holds not only aesthetic and cultural values but also mathematical concepts that can be utilized as contextual learning resources. This study is expected to contribute to the development of ethnomathematics and serve as an alternative approach to making mathematics learning more meaningful and relevant to everyday life.

Abstract

The Efficiency of Employing Wordwall-Based Interactive Educational Tools in Enhancing Elementary Students’ Comprehension of Math Concepts. In the digital age, the educational curriculum needs to evolve to cater to the requirements of Generation Alpha. At the primary school stage,many learners find mathematics challenging due to its abstract and deductive characteristics. Research conducted at SDN 1 Nglebur and SDN 2 Ngawen indicated that the absence of an effective unteractive learning framework led to poor academic performance among students, with mastery rates of only 32.14% and 40%, respectively. This research sought to assess the efficacy of Wordwall media in bolstering fifth-grade pupils’ grasp of mathematical ideal, particularly concerning LCM and GCF topics. A quasi-experimental framework and a quantitative methodology were employed in the investigation. The sample comprised 28 students from the experimental group and 30 from the control group. Information was gathered through experimentation involving pretest and posttests. Results from the experimental group demonstrated a notable improvement,exhibiting an average increase of 25.35 points, which was significantly greater that the control group at a significance level of 0.0002 (less that 0.05). Moreover, the avarage N-Gain value recorded for the experimental group was 0.41, while the control group only achieved 0.01. Learning materials developed with Wordwall are effective in enhancing fifth graders’ understanding of mathematics. The gamification aspects and interactive functionalities of the platform have been shown to convert abstract material into a more visual and engaging format, leading to a notable boost in student motivation and educational results. The study’s conclusion indicates that Wordwall, serving as an interactive educational platform, can assist in elucidation abstract concepts and elevating learning enthusiasm through gamification elements, providing educator with empirical support for incorporating technology into elementary mathematics instruction.
