Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the principle of balance (natural harmony) in natural resource management in the sustainable tourism sector in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. The study focuses on the meaning of balance between economic, social, cultural, and environmental aspects as the basis for sustainable tourism development. The method used is a qualitative descriptive approach through a systematic literature review conducted through the search and analysis of scientific literature, regional policies, and relevant empirical research results. The results show that the implementation of the principle of balance has been attempted through the development of community-based tourism, the utilization of ecological potential according to carrying capacity, and the implementation of policies and collaboration between stakeholders. However, the implementation of the principle of natural harmony still faces obstacles such as development pressures, environmental degradation, dependence on external assistance, and limited institutional capacity. In addition, this study found that community-based strategies and environmental technologies, including the use of remote sensing and Geographic Information Systems (GIS), have the potential to strengthen sustainable tourism governance and increase the effectiveness of natural resource monitoring. This research provides a conceptual contribution to strengthening adaptive, participatory, and long-term sustainability-oriented tourism development policies and practices in Lombok.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model assisted by Virtual Manipulative Media (VMM) on visual spatial skills and mathematics learning outcomes in two-dimensional geometry. This quantitative research applied a Pre-Experimental Design with a One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The research subjects involved all 20 fourth-grade students of SDN 2 Nglobo, selected using a total sampling technique. The research instruments consisted of visual spatial skills and cognitive learning outcomes tests. Data analysis techniques included the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, the Paired Samples T-Test, and the N-Gain Score calculation processed through IBM SPSS. The results indicated that the data were normally distributed, and the paired t-test yielded a t-value of -15.079 with a two-tailed significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), which convincingly rejected the null hypothesis and accepted the alternative hypothesis. Furthermore, the group's normalized gain calculation achieved an N-Gain Score of 0.4714 (47.14%), falls into the moderate category. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the implementation of the PjBL model assisted by VMM is significantly effective in improving visual spatial skills and mathematics learning outcomes of elementary school students on two-dimensional geometry.

Abstract

Psychosocial factors supporting patient treatment adherence significantly determine the success rate of tuberculosis (TB) management, in addition to the utilization of effective Anti-Tuberculosis Drugs (ATDs). In this context, self-resilience and social support are identified as two pivotal determinants. This study aimed to map the correlation between social support and resilience among TB patients, while exploring its implications for the optimization of pharmaceutical care. Utilizing an analytical survey with a cross-sectional study design, this research involved 51 patient families within the working area of the Doro I Public Health Center in Pekalongan Regency, recruited via a total sampling technique. Quantitative data were collected using the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS) and the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC), followed by analysis using the Chi-square test. Statistical analysis confirmed a significant relationship between social support and patient resilience ($p = 0.004$). This finding indicates that enhancing social support can strengthen patient resilience, which in turn promotes the effectiveness of ATD therapy. Consequently, the integration of counseling, education, and family empowerment in treatment supervision is essential to be adopted into standard pharmaceutical care.

Abstract

This research and development study aimed to design and analyze the validity and practicality of interactive teaching materials using Liveworksheets for the topic of biodiversity, intended for 10th-grade high school students. The study employed the 4D (Four-D) model, comprising four stages: define, design, develop, and disseminate. The dissemination stage was conducted on a limited scale, covering only validation testing, practicality testing, and product packaging, as the research focused primarily on the development process and the initial evaluation of the resulting media. Validity testing was conducted by two subject matter experts and two media experts, with results calculated using the Gregory formula. The assessment results indicated that the Gregory Validity Coefficient (KVG) for both subject matter and media experts reached a score of 1 (one), placing the materials in the "highly valid" category. Practicality testing was subsequently conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Sawan, involving two Biology teachers and 32 10th-grade students in a large-group trial. Analysis revealed practicality levels of 85% from the teachers and 91.15% from the students, both falling into the "highly practical" category. Based on these findings, it is concluded that the interactive teaching materials using Liveworksheets for the biodiversity topic are highly valid and highly practical for use in classroom learning by 10th-grade high school students.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the ethnophysics concepts embedded in the process of producing traditional Sesek woven fabric using the Gedogan loom in Pringgasela Village, East Lombok Regency. Traditional weaving represents a form of local wisdom that not only preserves cultural heritage but also embodies scientific principles that can be utilized as contextual learning resources in physics education. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach within an ethnoscience perspective. Data were collected through direct observations of weaving activities, semi-structured interviews with experienced traditional weavers, and documentation of weaving processes and equipment. The collected data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, supported by source and method triangulation to ensure data validity. The findings reveal that the weaving process reflects various physics concepts, particularly rigid body equilibrium, torque, tensile force, compressive force, rope tension, and mechanical motion. The Gedogan loom operates based on the principles of force and moment equilibrium, enabling stability throughout the weaving process. In addition, the body posture adopted by weavers demonstrates the application of biomechanical principles associated with rigid body equilibrium. The study also found that the materials used for each component of the loom are selected based on generations of empirical knowledge, resulting in mechanical properties appropriate for their respective functions. These findings indicate that the indigenous knowledge of the Pringgasela community has significant potential to serve as a culturally contextualized physics learning resource while simultaneously supporting the preservation of local cultural heritage

Abstract

Kerangas (heath) forests in Kalimantan are dominated by Dipterocarpaceae yet remain underrepresented in regional carbon-stock assessments, despite documented vulnerability to fire during dry-season anomalies. This study estimated the aboveground biomass (AGB) and carbon stock of Dipterocarpaceae stands in a kerangas forest at KHDTK Mungku Baru, Palangka Raya, Central Kalimantan, based on tree-inventory data across 24 sample plots (0.96 ha at the tree growth stage). Fourteen Dipterocarpaceae species from six genera were recorded. Because tree height was not measured in the field, AGB was estimated using diameter- and wood-density-based allometric models (Chave et al., 2005; Basuki et al., 2009), with a lognormal moment-based correction for within-species diameter variance evaluated through Gauss-Hermite quadrature. Estimated AGB ranged from 127.6 to 204.8 Mg/ha depending on model choice, corresponding to 60.0-96.2 Mg C/ha and 220.3-353.2 Mg CO2-eq/ha. Cotylelobium burckii and Shorea seminis contributed the largest share of stand-level carbon; however, a data-consistency check flagged the recorded basal area of S. seminis as statistically improbable, so this estimate is reported conservatively pending field verification. A complementary diversity analysis revealed a regeneration bottleneck at the pole (tiang) stage, raising concern for the resilience of this carbon stock following fire disturbance. These findings underscore the role of kerangas Dipterocarpaceae as a climate-mitigation asset that requires targeted fire-risk management.

Abstract

The organic household waste generated by people in the course of meeting their daily needs has the potential to be processed into useful products that benefit the agricultural sector and the environment in general. Organic residues found in waste and organic refuse such as soy-based tofu production waste and household organic waste like vegetable scraps contain organic compounds such as dodecanoic acid, which acts as a fungicide. This study employs a descriptive research design with a mixed-methods approach, utilizing Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) to identify the organic compounds in the final product. Organic materials such as organic waste and refuse are combined into a composite. The process involves pre-treatment, saccharification, fermentation, and pyrolysis stages. The resulting products are hydrosol and gas. Dodecanoic acid, an organic compound, was obtained at a concentration of 7,54% within the hydrosol and gas products. The product can be applied by spraying it onto plants affected by fungal infections, thereby influencing plant health and productivity. The product can be applied by spraying it onto plants affected by fungal infections that impact plant health and productivity.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the optimization of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model through the use of Canva media in Biology learning at the Firdaus Maros Education Foundation. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews with four Biology teachers. The results show that the use of Canva can improve the quality of learning through the presentation of materials that are more visual, interactive, and interesting. The integration of Canva in project-based learning encourages active student engagement, increases learning motivation, and develops 21st-century skills such as critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication. Students not only understand Biology concepts theoretically, but are also able to produce tangible products such as posters, infographics, and presentations as a form of their understanding. Despite obstacles such as limited internet connection and variations in digital literacy, the use of video tutorials and support from belajar.id accounts are solutions in optimizing the use of Canva. Thus, Canva plays a role not only as a learning medium, but also as a strategic tool in supporting the implementation of Project Based Learning that is innovative and relevant to the demands of 21st-century learning.
