Abstract

This study aims to systematically synthesize empirical research findings addressing the application of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) in developing teaching materials for inclusive education, particularly at the elementary school level. The method used was a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) with reference to the PRISMA guidelines. Articles were collected from various scientific databases of national and international journals. A total of 25 empirical research articles published between 2009 and 2025 were analyzed. The study results indicate that the development of UDL-based teaching materials consistently has a positive impact on learning accessibility, active student participation, and student learning outcomes in inclusive classes. The most dominant UDL principles applied are multiple means of representation and engagement. However, research at the elementary school level and in the Indonesian context is still limited. These findings indicate the opportunity to develop contextual UDL-based teaching materials that are relevant to national curriculum policies as a direction for future research and practice in inclusive education.

Abstract

Toddler visits to integrated health posts (Posyandu) are essential for monitoring growth and development, preventing nutritional problems, and strengthening community-based primary health services. However, the coverage of toddler visits in the working area of Mamboro Health Centre remains fluctuating and has not fully reached the expected target. This study aimed to evaluate the implementation of the toddler visit program to Posyandu by examining structural, process, and outcome aspects as well as behavioral factors influencing mothers’ attendance. This qualitative research used a descriptive case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation involving mothers of toddlers as main informants, cadres and health workers as key informants, and husbands and village officials as triangulation informants. Data were analyzed inductively through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings showed that the program had generally been implemented well. Cadres and health workers were available, standard operating procedures were understood, and cadre training had been conducted. Posyandu activities followed the five-table service flow, although health education and cross-sector coordination still required strengthening. Outcome indicators such as D/S and N/D remained fluctuating because attendance was not yet stable. The study concludes that toddler visit activities at Posyandu have been implemented fairly well, but routine attendance, growth monitoring coverage, family support, and community participation need further improvement.

Abstract

Analysis of the Quality of Grade VIII Science Assessment Items at SMP Negeri 27 Makassar Using Classical Test Theory and the Rasch Model. The quality of assessment instruments is essential for ensuring accurate measurement of students’ learning outcomes. This study aimed to analyze the quality of science achievement test items for Grade VIII students at SMP Negeri 27 Makassar through the integration of Classical Test Theory (CTT) and the Rasch Model. A descriptive quantitative approach was employed using 25 multiple-choice test items administered to 26 students. The CTT analysis included empirical validity, KR-20 reliability, item difficulty, and discrimination index, while the Rasch analysis examined reliability, separation indices, item fit, and the Wright Map. The results showed that 13 items (52%) met the validity criteria, with a KR-20 reliability coefficient of 0.8527, indicating high internal consistency. Most items were classified as having moderate difficulty (60%), and 72% demonstrated good to very good discrimination power. The Rasch analysis yielded a person reliability of 0.8177, an item reliability of 0.7232, and identified 16 items (64%) as fitting the model. The integrated analysis recommended retaining 8 items, revising 13 items, and eliminating 4 items. These findings indicate that integrating CTT and the Rasch Model provides a more comprehensive evaluation of test item quality and supports evidence-based decision-making in educational assessment development.

Abstract

Pacu Jalur is a cultural tradition of the Kuantan Singingi community that embodies various physics concepts, particularly those related to fluid mechanics. This study aims to explore the concepts of fluid statics and fluid dynamics embedded in the Pacu Jalur tradition as a context for ethnoscience-based physics learning. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed through a literature review and documentation study. Data were collected from scientific articles, books, photographic and video documentation, and official sources related to the history and implementation of Pacu Jalur. The data were analyzed by identifying Pacu Jalur phenomena, classifying them into fluid statics and fluid dynamics, interpreting their relationships with established physics principles, and examining their potential integration into physics learning. The findings reveal four fluid mechanics concepts associated with the Pacu Jalur tradition: hydrostatic pressure, Archimedes' principle, the continuity principle, and Bernoulli's principle. These concepts are reflected in the submerged portion and floating behavior of the Jalur boat, the interaction between its bow and the surrounding water flow, and its long and slender hull geometry. The findings suggest that Pacu Jalur has strong potential to serve as a meaningful and contextual setting for physics learning by connecting fluid mechanics concepts with phenomena related to students' cultural and everyday experiences while simultaneously supporting the preservation of Indonesia's local wisdom.

Abstract

Background: Kawista fruit (Limonia acidissima) from Bima Regency, West Nusa Tenggara, is empirically known for its antioxidant, tonic, and digestive properties. Its chemical components, including terpenoids, polyphenols, and flavonoids, are expected to reduce lipid profile levels. Purpose: This study aimed to identify active compounds in kawista fruit extract and evaluate its effects on lipid profile (cholesterol, triglycerides) and fasting blood glucose in white rats (Rattus norvegicus) with NAFLD-induced liver damage. Methods: An experimental approach was used. Kawista fruit extract was prepared by maceration with 70% ethanol. Rats were induced with a high-lipid diet and PTU to trigger hypothyroidism. Parameters measured included body weight, total cholesterol, triglycerides, and fasting blood glucose before and after four weeks of treatment at three dose levels. Results: Phytochemical analysis confirmed the presence of terpenoids, polyphenols, and flavonoids, but no alkaloids or saponins. Kawista extract showed a significant effect on triglyceride levels (p=0.002), while effects on cholesterol (p=0.651) and fasting blood glucose (p=0.656) were not significant. Mann-Whitney post-hoc analysis showed significant differences between all groups except between the positive control and dose 1 (p=0.885). Conclusion: Kawista fruit extract has significant potential in reducing triglyceride levels in rats with NAFLD-induced hyperlipidemia, supporting its use as a natural antioxidant and lipid-lowering agent

Abstract

The NTB Provincial Health Office recorded that East Lombok Regency, with 35 Health Centers, had 7,331 suspected tuberculosis (TB) patients who received standard services, comprising 432 male cases (54.3%), 363 female cases (45.7%), totalling 795 cases, and 67 TB cases among children aged 0–14 years. The role of academics and stakeholders in implementing the 2020–2024 national TB control strategy is critically important. This study aimed to examine the implementation of the TB program control policy in East Lombok Regency. A qualitative approach was employed with 79 informants using in-depth interviews, group interviews, and FGDs. Informants included TB program managers at the district level, Health Office officials, health center staff, and TB patients. Six health centers were selected purposively: Terara and Masbagik Baru (high achievement), Lenek and Aikmel (medium achievement), and Selong and Lendang Nangka (low achievement). The study was conducted from August to October 2023. Results revealed that TB program control policy implementation has been carried out well, supported by community participation, cross-sector coordination, availability of facilities and funds, and communicative communication. However, local government funding ceased after COVID-19, hampering training, active case finding, and community counseling activities. Policy recommendations include reinstating local government funding and adding TCM (Tes Cepat Molekuler) tools and dedicated TB waiting and sampling rooms
