Abstract

Organic waste is still a problem in the community because it can cause health, environmental and life problems. MOL (local microorganisms) is one of the alternatives to the use of organic waste that acts as plant fertilizer. The purpose of this study is to determine the influence of variations of organic waste as a material for making MOL on the growth of pakcoy plants (Brassica rapa). This study used a Group Random Design (RAK) consisting of 5 types of MOL, namely fruit waste (M1), vegetable waste (M2), banana hump (M3), mixed fruit waste, vegetables and banana hump (M4), and control (M5). Various types of MOL are analyzed for nutrient content at the end of fermentation and then applied to pakcoy plants. The observed growth parameters included plant height, number of leaves and plant root length, which was followed by statistical analysis of Anova. The observed nutrient test parameters are total nitrogen content, organic carbon, phosphorus, C/N ratio and pH level. Based on research, the nutrient content of various types of MOL has not met the test standards for organic fertilizers according to the Decree of the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia Number 261/KPTS/SR.310/M/4/2019. Only the M2 treatment has been in accordance with the C/N ratio of the organic fertilizer standard. For its effect on plant growth, MOL fruit waste (M1) is able to increase plant height and the number of leaves of pakcoy plants at 35 days after planting. However, the treatment of various MOL variations has not been able to affect the root length parameters. Thus, the application of MOL can be used as a liquid organic fertilizer to increase plant growth.

Abstract

Antenatal care is important in health optimization and early detection of maternal and fetal problems during pregnancy. In developing countries, access to prenatal care is still not optimal, which is indicated by the high maternal mortality rate in Indonesia of 173 per 100,000 live births. Midwives have an important role in pregnancy services by providing midwifery care that focuses on the needs of women. This study aims to determine the experience of pregnant women in South Kalimantan in accessing midwifery services during pregnancy. This study is qualitative and uses a generic exploratory approach. The research Data were taken using in-depth interviews with five pregnant women and analysed using the Collaizi framework with attention to the rigour of research data. The results of this study indicate that socio-cultural and socio-economic factors significantly impact the choice of healthcare facilities used. The existence of health policies and programs that focus on the needs of women is expected to optimize the quality of midwifery services.

Abstract

Thorax is a dense object, necessitating the use of a grid. However, hospitals use physical grids, which have drawbacks such as increased doses, appearance of artifacts, and a lack of ergonomics. To address these issues, virtual grid technology has been developed. This study aims to describe the thorax radiographic examination using a virtual grid and to compare the CNR of thorax radiographs using physical and virtual grids. This study uses a mixed-methods experimental, conducted at the Radiology Laboratory of 'Aisyiyah University Yogyakarta from November 2023 to May 2024. Data were collected through observation and experiments with a thorax phantom, physical and virtual grids, and CNR measurements at 5 points on images using ImageJ. The sample is thorax radiographic was tested in 5 trials each. Data analysis was performed using the paired samples T-Test. The results of thorax radiographic imaging using the virtual grid showed that after exposure, the image appeared on the monitor. Activating the virtual grid feature (ON) with 8:1 grid ratio, CNR were measured at each ROI. CNR with the physical grid were average of 27.22. With the virtual grid, the CNR were average of 40.81. These results indicate that the image quality using the virtual grid is superior. Statistical analysis showed a significant difference, with a p-value of 0.018. These findings suggest that the virtual grid not only improves image quality but also enhances workflow efficiency and operational ergonomics examinations. Future studies should explore the broader applicability of virtual grid technology in different radiographic modalities.

Abstract

Deficits in self-care skills such as liking to eat fried foods, foods high in fat and salt, lack of rest, and laziness to exercise are the causes of hypertension in pregnancy. Hypertension in pregnancy can be overcome by providing educational assistance to high-risk groups in the form of preventive measures such as a diet low in sodium and fat, walking, consuming calcium supplements, monitoring weight gain, and hydrotherapy that is a member of "Bumil Waspada". The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of "Bumil Waspada" on the ability to take care of herself in pregnant women with risk factors for hypertension. The design of this study used one group pretest-postest with purposive sampling, namely pregnant women with risk factors for hypertension in the working area of the Selogiri Health Center, Wonogiri Regency, totalling 47 people. The media used are educational texts with pictures and questionnaires as instruments. Bivariate analysis uses the Wilcoxon test. The study results showed an increase in self-care ability in the "good" category from 1 person to 23 people and another 24 people in the "adequate" category. The results of the Wilcoxon test showed a value of Z > z and p-value = 0.000 < 0.05, so there was a significant average difference between before and after the intervention. "Bumil Waspada" affects the ability to take care of herself in pregnant women with risk factors for hypertension.

Abstract

This study was conducted at SMPN 77 Central Jakarta in 2023 to determine the correlation between diet, physical activity and history of infectious diseases with the incidence of anemia in adolescent girls. The research method used is correlative descriptive with a cross-sectional design. The research sample was 114 adolescent girls who were selected by stratified random sampling technique. The results showed that as many as 36.8% of adolescent girls experienced anemia, with a total of 43.0% having a LILA (Upper Arm Circumference) <19 cm. The results of statistical analysis showed that there was a correlation between diet and the incidence of anemia (p=0.000) and OR=53.3 (CI 95%. 6.7 – 420.3) as well as disease history with the incidence of anemia (p=0.000) and OR=17.9 (CI 95%. 6.3 – 50.6). However, no association was found between physical activity and the incidence of anemia (p=0.537). The results of the study concluded that adolescents with poor diets had a 53.3 times greater risk of developing anemia, while adolescents with a history of infectious diseases had a 17.9 times greater risk. This study suggests that adolescents regulate their diet by paying attention to the frequency and type of food consumed and maintaining immunity to avoid infectious diseases and prevent anemia by consuming iron tablets regularly.
