Abstract

Good and right handwashing is described as cleaning hands with soap and running water with the right steps. The aim of this study is to explain the association between good and correct handwashing knowledge with the happenings of COVID-19 in Pemurus Dalam Health Center at Banjarmasin City. This study uses analytic observational with a case control approach as research method. Cluster sampling is used as sampling method with the number of samples in each case and control group are 32 people who suits both inclusion and exclusion criteria. Method to claim the result of analysis of data in the research is using chi square test. Univariate analysis results showed that most respondents in the case group (65.62%) had poor knowledge about good and correct handwashing compared to the control group, which mostly had good knowledge (58.38%). Bivariate analysis test of the relationship between good and correct hand washing knowledge showed a p value of 0.045 with an OR value of 2.79

Abstract

One health problems that often occur in elderly is a decline in cognitive function. The brain needs oxygen and glucose reserves to work, if there is a blood vessel blockage, it can cause oxygen and glucose inadequacy which can reduce the work function of brain nerve cells. Hypertension is a medical condition of an elevated vascular blood pressure above normal limits. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between blood pressure and cognitive function in the elderly at RSUD Ulin Banjarmasin. This study is an analytic observational study using a cross-sectional method with total of 32 elderly people were selected using a purposive sampling method. Data was analyzed by using Pearson. The average value systolic blood pressure was 152,2 ± 5,1 from secondary data of medical record, and the average value of cognitive function using the Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE) was 26,3 ± 1,0 with Pearson correlation test results obtained value of p = 0.594 and r = 0.098. These findings provide additional evidence that there is no relation between blood systolic pressure and cognitive function in the elderly in RSUD Ulin Banjarmasin

Abstract

Malnutrition is most common risk in patients undergoing routine hemodialysis compared to other general popolation, malnutrition is a condition in which the body leses muscle and visceral protein reserves. Albumin levels and body mass index in routine hemodialysis patient, in this studi using a cross sectional study with Pearson product momment correlation test. This study used secondary data on routine hemodialysis patients and clinical pathology laboratory at Ulin Hospital Banjarmasin. The research method using random sampling, obtained as many  74 subjects with subject distribution of 92 peeople. The results of study obtained correlation value of albumin levels and body mass index with a value of p =0.7 and a value of r = -0.030

Abstract

Iron supplementation tablets (TTD) are dietary supplements containing iron that can be given to adolescent girls to prevent iron deficiency anemia (ADB). Although the administration of TTD in adolescent girls has been implemented, the lack of knowledge and unsupportive attitude toward consuming TTD in adolescent girls can reduce the effectiveness on preventing ADB. This study aims to determine the effect of health education on knowledge and attitude of consuming TTD, a review of adolescent girls at SMP Negeri 25 Banjarmasin. Quasi-experimental research method with one-group pretest-posttest design. The research subjects were 30 people with random sampling technique. Data collection techniques using knowledge and attitude questionnaires. The analysis using the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks test showed that there was a significant difference between knowledge (p=0.00) and attitude (p=0.019) before and after health education for adolescent girls. In conclusion, health education can increase the knowledge and attitude of consuming TTD in adolescent girls

Abstract

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is structural or functional abnormalities in kidney for more than 3 months so the patient must undergo hemodialysis to assist the kidneys. CKD patients on hemodialysis therapy have persistent inflammation due to their disease. One way to determine inflammation is assess a biomarker in form of c-reactive protein (CRP). This study aims to determine the correlation between hemodialysis duration and CRP levels in routine hemodialysis patients. The research method used is observational analytic with cross-sectional approach. This study involved 100 patients with total of 93 patients who met the inclusion criteria and the sample size were 74 people with total random sampling technique. The results of the study from data that weren’t normally distributed showed the median of hemodialysis duration was 18 months, the median CRP level was 3.25 mg/L, and there was no significant correlation between the hemodialysis duration and CRP levels in routine hemodialysis patients.

Abstract

Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) are infections that are transmitted from one individual to another primarily through sexual contact. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD) education on the knowledge and attitudes of SMAN 3 Banjarmasin students. This research design uses a pre-experimental design with one group pretest and posttest design. The sample is 86 people who are students of SMAN 3 Banjarmasin. The research instrument used a questionnaire given before or after education. The sampling technique used was proportional strafied random sampling and analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant difference in knowledge and attitudes before (pretest) and after (posttest) education with p = 0.00. It can be concluded that there are differences in the knowledge and attitudes of SMAN 3 Banjarmasin students before and after education

Abstract

Mini Nutritional Assessment (MNA) is an instrument for assessing and screening specific nutritional in the elderly. Elderly are vulnerable to malnutrition because of physiological and functional changes that contribute to increase length of stay. The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between Mini Nutritional Assessment value with length of stay of elderly patients at RSUD Ulin Banjarmasin. This research is analytic observational with cross-sectional method. A sample of 32 elderly patients was analysis used Spearman correlation test. The  median MNA value was 20.00 points and the median length of stay was 8.00 days. The results of the correlation test showed that the value of p = 0.002 and value of r = -0.532 which means there is a significant correlation and a strong correlation with a negative direction. It can be concluded that there is a correlation between the Mini Nutritional Assessment (MNA) value with length of stay of elderly patients in internal medicine ward at RSUD Ulin Banjarmasin.

Abstract

In athletes, it is very important to maintain a good performance from start to finish, especially at certain times. The use of oxygen and blood flow will increase to meet the oxygen needs of the muscles during exercise. When there is increasing oxygen demand happens in the body, there will be stimulation of erythropoietin to produce red blood cells in the bone marrow, which is affect to the haematocrit value. The purpose of this literature review is to make a distinction about the difference in haematocrit levels in athletes and non-athletes. The reviewed articles were obtained through the Google Scholar and PubMed databases. The articles included are in English and Indonesian, published in 2011-2021. Different results were found between the studies appraised in this review, this could be due to differences in several factors such as duration, frequency, type of exercise, dehydration, gender, and nutritional intake

Abstract

Preeclampsia is hypertension in pregnancy which is characterized with blood pressure of 140/90 mmHg after 20 weeks of gestation, accompanied by proteinuria.3. There are three types of drugs that are often used in preeclampsia treatment, they are nifedipine, methyldopa, and MgSO4. This study was aimed to find out the description of confirmed covid-19 and non covid-19 preeclampsia patients treatment at Ulin Hospital, Banjarmasin in the COVID-19 period seen from administration of MgSO4, antihypertensive, method and time of termination. This study applied descriptive method with data collection through medical records. The sampling technique used purposive sampling which was selected based on the criteria. In this study, a sample of 176 preeclampsia patients with confirmed COVID-19 and non-COVID-19 were  obtained. However, from the 176 samples, which met the criteria, only 55 preeclampsia patients had confirmed COVID-19 and 80 non-COVID-19 preeclampsia patients. The results showed that all severe preeclampsia patients with confirmed COVID-19 were given MgSO4 with a percentage of 100%.. Antihypertensives were often given was a combination of methyldopa + nifedipine. The most common method of delivery was by cesarean section.
