Abstract

Based on the results of interviews and field observations, the issues faced by SDN Gadingkulon 2 in Malang Regency are as follows: Teachers still face difficulties in implementing literacy in classroom learning activities. The school has already implemented a literacy movement but has not yet integrated literacy into the learning activities. Teachers need to develop a literacy concept that can integrate literacy-based learning activities. Some students in the learning activities have diverse academic abilities. The methods used in this empowerment activity begin with a workshop on mentoring the creation of literacy and GEDSI-based teaching modules, mentoring in module preparation, module implementation, and reflection and follow-up. The results of this mentoring activity have had an impact on the participants, including successfully enhancing the teachers' skills in developing teaching modules that integrate literacy and GEDSI values. The teachers were also able to utilize artificial intelligence technology, ChatGPT, to enrich the content of the teaching modules. The modules developed cover various subjects, leveraging ChatGPT to search for references and creative ideas in module preparation. Students can understand true literacy, which is not just about reading sentences without understanding the meaning contained in each sentence, so that it can be applied and implemented in daily activities.

Abstract

Technology-based learning media have been proven to enhance learning by making it more engaging and increasing student interaction, motivation, and overall learning outcomes. However, few studies discuss students' perceptions of the types of learning media that effectively overcome their learning difficulties. Therefore, this study aims to determine students' perceptions of effective learning media that can help them overcome their learning difficulties. The quantitative descriptive method used in this study was applied to grade X students at SMAN 1 Ketapang, with samples selected using a proportional random sampling technique. Data were collected through Google Forms questionnaires containing both closed and open-ended questions and analyzed using descriptive statistics and thematic analysis. This study's findings suggest that students' learning difficulties are often attributed to a lack of motivation, focus, and drowsiness. The teacher's delivery method also contributes to these difficulties, as it is less engaging, difficult to follow, and does not provide clear examples. This research highlights the importance of interactive learning media tailored to students' motivational and cognitive needs, as well as the need for regulatory and policy support in implementing these learning media. Through a comprehensive discussion, this research contributes to the development of more effective digital learning.

Abstract

The rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) technology has brought human civilization into a new era known as the century of technological excellence. In this context, local cultures such as Malay culture face significant challenges and opportunities to remain relevant, adaptive, and sustainable amid disruptive digital modernization currents. This research aims to examine the position of Malay culture in the face of AI dominance and explore strategies for preservation, identity strengthening, and integration of cultural values into the future digital ecosystem. The method in this study is a descriptive qualitative approach with literature study, participatory observation, and in-depth interviews with cultural figures, academics, and technology-based creative industry players. The study results show that Malay culture has great potential to develop in line with AI through revitalizing local wisdom values such as syarak customs, Kitabullah sharia, buddhist philosophy, and the principles of deliberation and mutual cooperation. These values can be integrated into developing ethical algorithms, digital narratives, and AI-based educational systems rooted in local characters. However, there are significant challenges in the form of low digital literacy among the Malay community, limited technological resources, and the dominance of global content that does not represent local identity. Therefore, collaboration between educational institutions, governments, cultural communities, and technology actors is critical to creating an inclusive, humanistic, and culture-based AI ecosystem. This study concludes that Malay culture can survive and has an excellent opportunity to pioneer the creation of AI models based on local values. With the right strategy, the century of AI excellence is not a threat, but a momentum to display the uniqueness and wisdom of Malay culture on the global stage.

Abstract

Mental health problems, including depression, anxiety, and feelings of social isolation, frequently occur in older adults and often go unaddressed in community environments. This research aimed to assess the impact of an educational initiative delivered at the community level on enhancing the psychological well-being of older adults. A pre-experimental approach was utilized, employing a single-group design with measurements taken before and after the intervention. The program emphasized mental health awareness, emotional self-regulation techniques, and involvement in socially engaging community events. The analysis demonstrated notable enhancements in mental well-being. Participants experienced a reduction in depression from moderate to mild levels, decreased anxiety symptoms, and a marked improvement in their sense of social belonging, rising from low to moderate to high engagement. These outcomes demonstrate that a structured and targeted educational strategy can lead to significant improvements in the mental health of older adults. The intervention proved to be both feasible and beneficial in addressing psychological challenges in later life. Furthermore, the study offers valuable insights for public and geriatric mental health practices by presenting adaptable, evidence-driven approaches to promote healthy aging.
