Abstract

This study examines the influence of personal income on investment decisions among Generation Z in South Jakarta, situating the analysis within a growing body of global research that links financial capacity to the investment behavior of young people. While prior work has documented that higher income levels increase risk-taking and portfolio diversification among young adults, little is known about this phenomenon in the Indonesian context. Guided by behavioral finance theory and the Theory of Planned Behavior, we adopt a quantitative design with 101 purposively selected respondents, collecting data through an online questionnaire. Simple linear regression, Spearman correlation, and ordinal regression (SPSS v30) reveal a strong positive relationship between monthly income and investment decision intensity (r = 0.669, p 0.001), with income accounting for 98.7% of the explained variance in the ordinal model.

Abstract

This study was motivated by issues surrounding the understanding of self-compassion as an essential psychological resource for female inmates in dealing with pressure, stigma, and life limitations in correctional facilities. Self-compassion, which includes self-kindness, common humanity, and mindfulness, plays a crucial role in reducing depression and anxiety while enhancing mental well-being. However, its application among female inmates remains limited due to traumatic experiences and high social pressure. Therefore, this study aims to analyze how self-compassion is understood and developed among female inmates at the Class II A Correctional Facility in Bandar Lampung. This qualitative research employed a Single Holistic Case Design involving three female inmates as primary informants and five significant others (four inmates and one staff member) selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis, and were analyzed thematically using NVivo 12 Plus software. The results reveal that self-compassion develops through spiritual activities, self-reflection, and social support despite severe psychological distress. The findings highlight the role of spirituality and social bonds in fostering psychological resilience. This study contributes to the scientific understanding of self-compassion in correctional contexts and provides implications for developing context-based rehabilitation programs for female inmates.

Abstract

This study investigated how?pre?service EFL teachers' perceived Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK), Technological Content Knowledge?(TCK), and Technological?Pedagogical Knowledge?(TPK) relate to their demonstrated TPACK performance when designing AI?enhanced lessons. It employed a correlational research design with multiple linear regression. Seventy?seven Indonesian pre?service teachers who had used AI-enhanced tools during practicum completed perceived PCK, TCK, and TPK questionnaires. Actual TPACK competence was scored with a performance rubric (lesson plans, supporting documents, and teaching observations). Descriptively, participants reported the most substantial confidence in PCK (M?=?3.61, SD?=?0.54, 5?point scale), while TCK (M?=?3.00,?SD?=?1.14) and TPK (M?=?3.02,?SD?=?0.50) were moderate. Performance data showed that, on average, teachers achieved 70?percent of the maximum TPACK score, indicating adequate yet improvable integration of technology, pedagogy, and content. Multiple?regression analysis revealed that perceived PCK, TCK, and TPK together did not significantly predict demonstrated TPACK (F?(3,73) = 1.98,?p?=.125). These findings suggest a disconnect between what teachers think they know and what they can enact. It contributes to teacher knowledge research by highlighting the gap between self-perceived and demonstrated competence, underscoring the need for practice-oriented training that explicitly links AI tool use to pedagogical and content goals.

Abstract

Inefficient digital systems for managing chemistry laboratories in secondary schools often impede effective record-keeping, inventory management, and practicum reporting. This study developed Chemlab Excel, a practical and accessible offline Microsoft Excel-based laboratory management system, eliminating the need for an internet connection or additional software. Employing a Research and Development (RD) approach with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation), and involved nine purposively selected respondents, including chemistry teachers, laboratory heads, and lab assistants from SMA Negeri 1 Bireuen and SMA Negeri 1 Samalanga. The study utilized expert validation sheets, teacher response questionnaires, and the System Usability Scale (SUS) for data collection. Validity was assessed using Aiken's V, and inter-rater reliability was measured via the Intraclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC). Three experts validated the system, with trials conducted in two secondary schools in Bireuen Regency. Results showed high feasibility, with Aiken's V coefficients of 0.852 (media) and 0.869 (material), and ICC values of 0.768 (media) and 0.761 (material), indicating good reliability. The SUS score averaged 72.22%, and teacher responses reached 94.64%, reflecting user-friendliness and enhanced efficiency. Chemlab Excel proves to be a feasible, contextually relevant solution for laboratory management, contributing to streamlined administrative processes in science education and offering a scalable, accessible tool for secondary schools.

Abstract

Coastal schools are highly vulnerable to the impacts of climate change, including tidal flooding, erosion, and seawater intrusion, which disrupt educational processes and compromise community resilience. Strengthening environmental literacy within the eco-school framework is therefore essential to develop adaptive knowledge, critical thinking, and sustainable behavior among students. This community service project implemented a Green Literacy Bootcamp at SMP Negeri 25 Semarang, involving 45 students identified as prospective Green Warriors. The program comprised three phases: a two-day intensive training, a three-month follow-up, and a final reflection. Activities included communication workshops, creative campaigns, eco-project simulations, and student-led projects on waste management, urban farming, and tidal flood mitigation. The program was evaluated using a pre-post environmental literacy test and structural model analysis, complemented by a satisfaction survey. Results showed a substantial improvement in environmental literacy, with the largest gains observed in environmental hope and cognitive skills. Students also reported high satisfaction with the learning experience. This study contributes to the field of environmental education by offering a validated and replicable model for strengthening multidimensional environmental literacy and supporting eco-school development in coastal communities facing climate change challenges.

Abstract

Regional economic resilience in the face of internal and external economic shocks plays a central role in shaping the standard of living for a community and creating sustainable regional development. The purpose of this study is to map regional economic resilience by analyzing GRDP volatility, the level of post-pandemic economic recovery, and the relationship between economic growth and poverty indicators. Using a quantitative and descriptive-analytical approach, the analysis of economic volatility, recovery rates, and growth rates produced the following findings: (1) Economic resilience varies across Indonesia. Provinces with diversified economies show lower volatility, while regions that rely on extractive sectors tend to have high volatility; (2) The use of both constant and current price bases for GRDP calculations, bases ADHK and ADHB, showed similar growth trends at the macro level. However, these different methods yielded significant variations in detail, offering distinct perspectives on each region's economic performance. (3) Structural and methodological factors influence the results, which are then used to assess the strength of each economic sector. By understanding these methodological differences and the dynamics of growth, volatility, and recovery, policymakers can formulate targeted intervention strategies to support integrated community welfare and optimize resource allocation, thereby promoting economic stability and growth.

Abstract

Community engagement in science is essential for building a knowledgeable and inspired society. This paper reports on the SEAROAD (Southeast Asia Regional Outreach Astronomy Development) Astronomy Workshop, a community service initiative designed to enhance science educators' understanding of astronomy and their confidence in teaching it. The two-day program in Bandung, West Java, involved 36 participants from diverse educational backgrounds. Pre-workshop assessments measured the baseline knowledge of participants on topics such as light pollution, telescope use, and celestial phenomena. At the same time, post-workshop surveys evaluated shifts in attitudes, perceived relevance, and interest in astronomy. Results revealed notable gaps in prior knowledge and demonstrated significant cognitive gains, with most participants achieving moderate to high normalized change scores. The workshop also strengthened pedagogical self-efficacy, particularly in integrating astronomy into classroom practice. This study presents one of the first systematic evaluations of an astronomy-focused teacher professional development intervention in Indonesia, implemented through a tripartite collaboration that combines local pedagogy, public science communication, and regional scientific partnerships. These findings highlight the effectiveness of short-term, hands-on, and contextually relevant professional development as a model for advancing science education and fostering sustained public interest in astronomy. Beyond its practical outcomes, this study contributes to the broader discourse on teacher professional development by offering an evidence-based framework for how collaborative, intensive, and contextually grounded astronomy training can effectively enhance both cognitive and affective domains of educators in developing countries.
