Abstract

This study addresses the persistently low absorption of vocational high school graduates in Kendal Regency, Indonesia, despite the region's strategic position within a special economic zone that demands a skilled workforce. The study aims to examine the influence of the link and match program, teachers' professional competence, and vocational school culture on improving the quality of vocational education and its relevance to graduate employability. A quantitative correlational research design was employed, involving 219 vocational teachers selected through proportional random sampling. Data were collected using validated questionnaires and analyzed using multiple regression and correlation techniques. The results reveal that the link and match program significantly contributes to vocational education quality improvement (54.2%), followed by teachers' professional competence (24.4%) and school culture (24.1%). Collectively, these variables explain 76.7% of the variance in vocational education quality. The findings indicate that effective industry–school alignment, continuous professional development of teachers, and the internalization of industrial work culture are critical factors in enhancing graduate readiness and employability. This study contributes to the field of vocational education by providing empirical evidence on an integrated model of quality improvement that supports stronger alignment between vocational schools and labor market demands.

Abstract

Observations and literature reviews indicate that vocational school students' critical thinking skills remain low, even though these skills are important for vocational graduates. One reason is the limited availability of interactive teaching materials for the IPAS Project subject. This study aims to develop a STEM-ESD-based e-module for the IPAS Project on Soil Pollution to improve the critical thinking skills of Year 10 vocational school students. The study uses the Research and Development (RD) method with the ADDIE model. The e-module was developed using Heyzine Flipbook. The validation results showed that the e-module was highly valid, with a score of 90% from subject matter experts, 92% from media experts, and 93% from language experts, as well as a very practical response from teachers (93%). The implementation of the e-module resulted in increased critical thinking skills, with an N-Gain score of 0.67 and very positive student responses. This e-module is suitable for use as an innovative teaching material that supports student-centred learning and sustainable education.

Abstract

This study examines the effects of AI-based learning tools on Arabic language learning among Arabic students, with student engagement and educational content quality as mediators. This study used a quantitative causal-explanatory design and administered an online questionnaire to students, teachers, and education professionals (N=960). Using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to analyze the data, there was a large direct positive effect of AI tools on proficiency and an even stronger positive mediating effect of student engagement. Unexpectedly, perceptions of educational content quality were strongly negatively associated with proficiency, suggesting that a mismatch between content design and the learner’s sociocultural context may impede learning even when the pedagogical design is sound. The results highlight that the success of AI in language learning is not merely a function of the state of the technology, but, more importantly, a function of pedagogically sound content and its continued capacity to promote profound engagement. This research enhances the science of technology-enhanced learning by proposing a refined model for English language education in Egypt and by providing implementation-oriented suggestions for furthering practice, calling for a shift from technocentric implementation to learner-centric orchestration of AI in Arabic language education.

Abstract

It is commonly acknowledged that transformational leadership is an essential framework for understanding how school principals enhance teacher motivation, performance, and overall school development across a variety of settings. However, despite its proven advantages, the current body of research remains dispersed across methodological, institutional, and cultural boundaries, highlighting the necessity of an integrated synthesis. This study uses a hybrid methodological approach that combines a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) with bibliometric analysis using VOSviewer to map the trends, themes, and research fronts of transformational leadership among school principals. Using data from Scopus and PRISMA-guided methods, the study identifies networks of collaboration, intellectual structures, and new directions that influence the creation of theories, leadership development programs, and policy in educational leadership. According to the findings, transformational leadership has developed into a multifaceted framework that includes teacher empowerment, emotional intelligence, and adaptive digital competence, rather than being solely focused on morality and justiceThough it is constrained by its reliance on Scopus and English-language sources which may exclude important regional perspectives the integration of SLR and bibliometric methods offers a thorough understanding of the conceptual and empirical development of transformational leadership. This study emphasizes the importance of incorporating inclusiveness, ethical reasoning, and reflective practices into the development of policies and leadership training. Therefore, to better understand how transformational leadership concepts are contextually adjusted across various educational systems and cultural contexts, future research should examine longitudinal and cross-national studies.

Abstract

This research investigates the?integration of local wisdom-based reading materials into an effective problem-based learning model in enhancing university students’ reading comprehension. The study was inspired by the lack of cultural relevance of reading material often sourced from other countries and not aligned with ?students' backgrounds. A pre-experimental mixed-methods design was used with 33 students, who received the reading comprehension pre- and post-tests and an interview. Quantitative data were analyzed using paired-samples t-tests and N-Gain, while qualitative data were analyzed descriptively. The results showed an improvement in the post-test scores of students who used local wisdom-based materials, with a very high N-Gain, indicating that LKBKpBL based on PBL can be categorized as effective. Additional outcomes indicated improvements in motivation,?critical and reflective thinking, collaboration, and cultural identity. The research recommends that fostering local wisdom in PBL is not only helpful for enhancing understanding and perception but also for maintaining cultural insight and interaction. Educationally, the findings contribute to literacy education by presenting a culturally responsive, problem-based instructional framework that fosters students’ ability to relate reading to their cultural experiences, sustain higher learning outcomes, and maintain local value relevance in institutions of higher learning.

Abstract

Women entrepreneurs within the creative sector of the Melayu Jambi community possess substantial potential to boost the local economy through culturally inspired products. Nonetheless, initial field observations and foundational data reveal that 68% of these business owners lack a distinct brand identity, 72% experience restricted access to digital marketing channels, and merely 35% engage actively with e-commerce platforms, leading to diminished market presence and diluted product competitiveness. A gap analysis based on these initial insights and a review of earlier studies shows that most empowerment programs concentrate on general entrepreneurial skills, while integrated branding and e-commerce support rooted in local cultural principles is scarce. Consequently, this initiative seeks to enhance women entrepreneurs' capabilities through culturally infused branding and e-commerce enhancement. The program used a collaborative approach and was implemented in five phases: needs assessment, social outreach, skill development, guidance, and evaluation. The outcomes indicate remarkable advancement in participants' branding acumen and digital proficiency, with average pre-test and post-test scores rising from 47.7% to 77.9%, bolstered by deliverables such as logos, product packaging designs, digital catalogs, and operational e-commerce accounts. In summary, this initiative promotes women's financial autonomy and contributes a culture-centric digital empowerment framework to studies on community-based creative industries.

Abstract

Character education based on national values is an important foundation for developing a generation that is not only knowledgeable but also possesses moral integrity and a love for the homeland. This study aims to analyze the implementation strategy for character education grounded in national values in schools, emphasizing the roles of the curriculum, extracurricular activities, school culture, teacher role models, and parental involvement. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with literature analysis and empirical studies at Sekolah Kebangsaan Dato' Wan Ahmad Rasyid. The results show that internalization of national values can be achieved systematically through integration into core subjects, reinforcement through extracurricular activities, and instilling these values in the school culture. Furthermore, teachers serve as primary role models in demonstrating national-spirited behavior, while collaboration with parents ensures the sustainability of character education beyond school. Thus, the implementation strategy for character education based on national values is holistic and multi-layered, strengthening students' national identity while acting as a bulwark against the influence of globalization.

Abstract

This study aims to implement and test the effectiveness of a Deep Learning approach that integrates literacy and numeracy competencies into Geography learning. The study is motivated by the absence of a standardized and comprehensive Deep Learning teaching module format adaptable to various Geography topics at the secondary school level to strengthen students' literacy and numeracy skills. This research developed teaching modules, student worksheets, and an information technology–based learning media called "Geo Hepi" on climate and weather material at SMAN 12 Semarang. The research method used a pre-experimental design with a one-shot case study model and a quantitative approach. The research subjects were selected through purposive sampling, namely, class XE students. Data were collected using validation questionnaires, participatory observation sheets, and documentation, and analyzed descriptively using percentage techniques and interval criteria. The results showed that students' literacy and numeracy skills were in the good category, with literacy at 89% and numeracy at 87% in the first meeting, and 88% and 83% in the second meeting. These findings indicate that the Deep Learning approach is effective in improving students' literacy and numeracy competencies in Geography learning.
