Abstract

MSMEs are in important pillar of the national economy, yet many of their operators still struggle to face various challenges. This study aims to describe the supporting and inhibiting factors of MSMEs success through a Systemetic Literatur Review (SLR) of various national and international journals sourced from Gloogle Scholar and other journal portals. MSMEs rely on the application of digital technology, product innovation, human resources competence, as well as adequate access to capital. On the other hand, the progress of MSMEs is often hindered by low financial literacy, traditional management styles, and difficulties in penetrating wider markets. These finfings are expected to serve as practical guidance for MSMEs operators to improve, as well as a consideration for policymakers in designing more targeted support strategies

Abstract

In the period of 2023-2024, MSMEs in Indonesia were recorded as contributing 61% of GDP (Rp. 9,580 trillion) and absorbing more than 123 million (97% of the workforce), while the number of culinary MSMEs in Bekasi Regency was 15,156, which absorbed 410,000 workers in 2023. MSMEs in the culinary sector are included in the types of micro, small, and medium enterprises as referred to in the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 20 of 2008. This study uses a descriptive qualitative research method through data collection through interviews and observations. A search was conducted on related laws and regulations (statute approach) to find out the fact that Law Number 20 of 2008 concerning the development of MSMEs is an important thing that should be a guideline in terms of issuing various policies, handling, and coaching for MSMEs in the culinary sector in Bekasi Regency in order to encourage halal-certified culinary. The halal certification policy provides convenience for consumers and makes MSMEs resilient and independent as stipulated in Article 5 of Law Number 20 of 2008. The results of this study indicate that MSMEs in the culinary sector in Bekasi Regency continue to increase, but awareness or belief in the importance of halal certification is not as it should be, so the Regional Government together with BPJPH and MUI needs to continue to encourage MSME awareness of the importance of halal certification and provide convenience to MSMEs to obtain free halal certification.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the importance of Islamic financing management in improving the profitability of Sharia Consumer Cooperatives. Murabahah and ijarah financing are the most widely implemented contracts; however, their contributions to profitability remain inconsistent. This study aims to examine the effect of murabahah and ijarah financing on the profitability of Sharia Consumer Cooperatives in Bukittinggi City and Agam Regency. The research employed a quantitative approach with a causal associative design. Secondary data were collected from the annual financial statements of six Sharia Consumer Cooperatives during the 2020–2024 period, selected using purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS, supported by classical assumption tests, t-test, F-test, and coefficient of determination analysis. The results indicate that, partially, murabahah financing has a positive and significant effect on profitability, while ijarah financing has no significant effect. Simultaneously, murabahah and ijarah financing significantly influence profitability, with a coefficient of determination of 44.0%. It can be concluded that murabahah financing is the dominant factor contributing to cooperative profitability, whereas the optimization of ijarah financing is still needed to further improve the financial performance of Sharia Consumer Cooperatives
