Abstract

This research is entitled "Tradition of Maantaan Padi Jo Mangubang in Nagari Situmbuk, Salimpaung District, Tanah Regency, West Sumatra" This research aims to find out about the process of implementing maantaan padi jo mangubang in Nagari Situmbuk. And in this research also aims to describe the symbolic meanings contained in the tradition of maantaan padi jo mangubang. The theory used in this research is the symbolic interpretative theory of Clifford Geertz. The method used in this research is a qualitative method. The results of this research explain the background of the tradition of maantaan padi jo mangubang in Nagari Situmbuk, that the history of maantaan padi jo mangubang is divided into two activities, namely maantaan padi and mangubang. Maantaan padi began in the 1640s. Meanwhile, mangubang was carried out several months after the creation of maantaan padi, the person who first made the kubang of the bride's family named Mayang Sani. This tradition begins with several processions, namely determining the time of marriage, the bundo kanduang meeting, pre-wedding processes, the wedding time, maantaan padi, mangubang and manampuah. Behind this, this tradition turns out to have a general meaning, namely the meaning of family and kinship. As for other meanings, there are symbolic meanings such as the meaning of rice meaning the first livelihood, the meaning of sumpik minciang meaning the woman who is married is ready to be accommodated by the man's family. The meaning of Ceret means that marriage begins with pure intentions, the meaning of Mangubang means repairing a strained bond. The meaning of Kubang means that the man and woman are united in the bonds of the household. The meaning of sticky rice means prayers for a close-knit household and grated coconut means the sweet, salty and bland life after marriage. Finally, the meaning of the basin means being ready to accept the risks of good and bad after marriage.

Abstract

This study addresses shifting urban mobility trends as digital platforms gain prominence while traditional transport like the becak remains essential for reaching densely populated neighborhoods. The research aims to develop an Android‑based online becak booking system using UML to systematically define comprehensive functional requirements and workflows. The methodology comprised requirement analysis, a Waterfall‑based SDLC, and UML Use Case and Activity Diagrams to outline interactions among administrators, customers, and drivers and to specify feature workflows. The resulting design supports user registration, authentication, seamless booking, detailed real‑time location tracking, cost and time estimation, continuous feedback and reporting. Efficiency is achieved through fully automated order lifecycles and robust data security via strict login verification and authorization controls. Additionally, GPS-powered nearest-becak search and an easy-to-use UI improve inclusive mobility. Future enhancements include field testing, user‑centric UX studies, and machine‑learning integration for optimized driver assignment and predictive arrival‑time prediction.

Abstract

Women of childbearing age (WUS) belong to a vulnerable group whose health status must be considered, especially their nutritional status. Ignorance about nutritious food can lead to high cases of KEK in WUS. The provision of health education is expected to increase knowledge in WUS so as to increase efforts to prevent KEK early and can reduce the incidence of KEK, especially during pregnancy and the First 1000 Days of Life (HPK). This study aims to analyze the effect of health education on the level of knowledge of WUS about the prevention of KEK. This study used PreExperimental method with one group pre-test post-test design. The sampling technique used in this study was total sampling with a population of 42 WUS in Surat Village. This study was analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results of this study indicate that there is an increase in knowledge value with an average value of each respondent as much as 29% after the provision of health education on the prevention of KEK with the significance value of the Wilcoxon test is 0.000 which means that the significance value is less than the ρ-value (sig <0.05).

Abstract

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a chronic lung disease characterized by persistent and progressive airflow obstruction. This can trigger an increase in respiratory rate due to shortness of breath. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Balloon Blowing Exercise on respiratory rate in COPD patients. This study used a pre-experimental design with a one-group pre-test and post-test approach. The study population was all COPD patients in the inpatient unit of Sumberglagah Regional Hospital, Pacet District, Mojokerto Regency, with a sample of 30 respondents taken through a purposive sampling technique. Data collection was carried out by measuring respiratory rate before and after the intervention. Data analysis used the Wilcoxon Signed Rank-Test. The results showed a p-value of 0.000 or <ÿ (0.05), which means there is a significant effect of Balloon Blowing Exercise on respiratory rate in COPD patients. Research on Balloon Blowing Exercise has proven effective in reducing the Respiratory Rate, because this exercise can extend the expiratory phase which triggers the release of more CO2 from the lungs and involves the respiratory muscles, so that by improving ventilation, preventing water trapping and respiratory muscle training can reduce the workload of the respiratory system, which has an impact on reducing the respiratory frequency.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between family support and assertiveness with the tendency to use narcotics in early adulthood. The univariate results show that family support has an average score of 2.591, indicating a high level of family support. Family support, particularly in the forms of emotional, esteem, and instrumental support, was found to play a significant role in preventing drug abuse, with a t-test yielding a t-value of 4.103 (p < 0.05). Meanwhile, assertiveness also had a high average score (2.573) and significantly influenced the tendency to use narcotics, with a t-value of 5.051 (p < 0.05). The multivariate analysis results indicate a significant interaction between both variables, with an F-value of 336.378 (p < 0.05), suggesting that family support and assertiveness together can reduce the tendency to use narcotics. The study concludes that the combination of positive family support and high assertiveness can strengthen an individual's protection against the risk of narcotic abuse in early adulthood.

Abstract

This study aims to develop Big Book learning media with the See Think Wonder approach in improving early literacy of children aged 5-6 years. The method used is research and development (R&D) with the ADDIE model, which includes analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The results showed that the use of Big Book media can improve children's literacy skills, including vocabulary recognition, story comprehension, and communication skills. Children can make simple sentences from the vocabulary they hear and retell the content of the story in their own language, reflecting their understanding. Teacher observations show that the See Think Wonder approach is effective in increasing children's vocabulary, with each child adding three to five new words. In addition, the children also practiced their imagination and cognitive training through the questions asked, whether related to the story or not. Thus, this approach not only improves expressive language skills but also builds children's confidence in communicating. This study concludes that See Think Wonder-based Big Book media can significantly improve early literacy in young children, with an increase in vocabulary, the ability to make sentences, and the ability to ask questions. These results show the importance of using interesting and interactive media in early childhood education to support optimal literacy development

Abstract

This study investigates the effect of profitability (ROA), leverage (DER), firm size (SIZE), and managerial ownership (MNGR) on tax avoidance, measured by the effective tax rate (ETR), in companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. Using a quantitative approach with secondary data from annual reports, the analysis employs moderated regression analysis (MRA) to test both direct and moderating effects. The results show that profitability and firm size have a negative and significant effect on ETR, indicating that highly profitable and larger firms are more likely to engage in tax avoidance. In contrast, leverage has a positive and significant effect on ETR, suggesting that highly leveraged firms tend to reduce tax avoidance, potentially due to creditor monitoring and financial stability concerns. Managerial ownership does not directly affect ETR, but it strengthens the negative relationship between profitability and ETR, supporting the agency theory perspective that managerial equity participation enhances incentives for tax minimization. These findings contribute to the literature by providing new evidence from an emerging market context and offer practical implications for policymakers and regulators in improving tax compliance and corporate governance.
