Abstract

Counselors and social workers play a crucial role in the rehabilitation process, although they have slightly different focuses. Counselors tend to cater to more mature clients, while social workers are more experienced in working with adolescent or emerging adults. Both use assessment tools such as ASSIST, ASI, and Yurika to assess the resident's condition and progress. This study aims to analyze the roles of counselors and social workers at Focus Rehabilitation Center. The methods used include interviews and observation as the main tools for collecting data. Interviews were conducted to understand counselors' perspectives on approaches and challenges in their work, while observations provided a first-hand account of counselors' interactions with residents and their therapeutic processes. The results of this study are expected to provide an in-depth insight into the effectiveness of the role of counselors and social workers in supporting the recovery process of residents from drug dependence at the rehabilitation center.

Abstract

The "Economic Ice Gel Innovation as an Alternative to Ice Blocks for Fishermen in the Coastal Area of Mamburungan, Tarakan" aims to address the challenges faced by local fishermen in preserving the freshness of their catch. The conventional ice blocks currently in use have limitations, such as melting quickly and high costs, making them inefficient for long-term storage. The economic ice gel innovation presents a more effective and economical alternative. Ice gel can maintain cold temperatures for longer periods, does not melt easily, and can be reused multiple times, thereby reducing fishermen's operational costs. This program involves research and development of suitable ice gel, training for fishermen on its usage, and monitoring and evaluation of the technology's implementation. A participatory approach is used to ensure that the solutions provided meet local needs. This innovation is expected to improve storage efficiency, reduce quality loss of fish, and support the welfare of fishermen in Mamburungan. Additionally, the use of ice gel has positive environmental impacts by reducing the production and disposal of ice blocks. The program is anticipated to make a significant contribution to increasing fishermen's income and quality of life, as well as the sustainability of fishery resources.

Abstract

The problem that occurs in Bawang Village is that agricultural products sold in their original form get relatively cheap selling prices. Apart from that, the availability of job opportunities for youth in this village is still very limited. For this reason, there is a need for a process of downstreaming natural resources into value-added products. Apart from getting high prices, the potential for employment opportunities is also wider. The high potential of coffee plant resources and human resources in Bawang Village has encouraged the team to carry out community service activities. The aim of the service is to encourage downstream coffee commodities by providing socialization on coffee plant processing and assistance in making coffee jam products to the Bawang Village community. The methods used are socialization and mentoring. The results of the activity showed an increase in participants' knowledge in the process of processing coffee plants into coffee powder, and an increase in participants' creativity and innovation in making coffee jam products. This activity also fosters enthusiasm and motivation to be able to create new products with added value as an effort to increase people's income. Keywords: coffee processing; coffee jam; hilirization coffee plants; desa bawang.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic and global economic instability, such as the Russia-Ukraine conflict, have negatively impacted the Indonesian economy, including the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) sector. This impact is clearly visible in MSMEs in Sidoarjo, which have experienced a decline in sales and difficulty in adapting to changes in the digital landscape. One of the main problems faced is the low quality of digital marketing content and a lack of understanding in developing effective business strategies. This article discusses the empowerment of MSMEs in Waru, Sidoarjo, through Creative Content, Copywriting, Business Model Canvas (BMC), and Digital Photography training, as an effort to increase the competitiveness of MSMEs in the digital era. This training is designed to help MSMEs overcome marketing problems by providing practical skills in creating more attractive content, mapping the right business strategy through BMC, and improving the visual quality of products through basic photography techniques. The results of the training showed a significant increase in participants' ability to implement more effective marketing strategies, increase interactions with customers through digital platforms, and strengthen their businesses as a whole. With a better understanding and skills of digital marketing and business strategies, partner MSMEs are expected to increase sales and competitiveness in the market.

Abstract

Sambora Village is one of the villages located in Toho District, Mempawah Regency. Sambora Village is inhabited by various tribes, ranging from Dayak, Malay, Madurese, Batak, Javanese, Bugis and Chinese. The activity partners in this PKM are the Sambora Village community, especially fish farmers and the public. Regarding the problems faced by partners, the solution is socialization and training regarding value fish hatcheries in tarpaulin ponds. The output target of this PKM activity is for partners to increase their knowledge and technical skills regarding fish hatcheries using tarpaulin ponds in their yards. The Community Service activities carried out consist of 3 stages, namely stage one is orientation, stage 2 is the implementation of socialization, and the last stage is monitoring and evaluation. At the orientation implementation stage, problems were found related to the need for fish seeds that grow quickly and are easy to adapt to the cultivation environment. The seeds used should come from quality brood stock and locally produced products. Socialization was carried out on the advantages of the fish hatchery method using tarpaulin ponds, comparisons were given with the hatchery method carried out in earthen ponds. Introduction to a type of tilapia fish that has good egg and sperm productivity. Implementation of monitoring and evaluation to provide input on seeding practices that have been carried out by partners and provide input regarding problems faced. After carrying out the three stages of PKM, the results showed that all training participants had increased their knowledge and abilities regarding tilapia fish hatchery. Before the training, 50% already had knowledge about tilapia fish hatcheries, but only 10% knew how to care for tilapia seeds in tarpaulin ponds. After socialization and training, all participants or 100% knew and were able to implement tilapia fish hatchery in tarpaulin ponds.

Abstract

In order to increase public awareness of the significance of gender equality in regional development, gender roles were socialized during the implementation of Regional Regulation (Perda) No. 3 of 2023 about Regional Taxes and Retributions in Ketapang Regency. 50 individuals from a range of educational and gender backgrounds participated in this activity, which was held in Sukaharja Village, Delta Pawan District, Ketapang Regency. Lectures, interactive discussions, and simulations were among the techniques employed to inform participants about the regulation's contents and the idea of gender roles. The findings showed that there is still a lack of public awareness of gender equality and regulations, especially with regard to tax and retribution obligations, which are frequently thought of as men's responsibilities. Factors such as limited socialization, low education levels, and patriarchal culture were identified as main barriers. The main conclusion of this activity is the need for more intensive and continuous socialization, the development of easily understandable materials, and improved public services to encourage active community participation in regional development. Recommendations include collaboration with relevant stakeholders, gender-disaggregated data collection, and strengthening the government's role in mainstreaming gender in all stages of development.

Abstract

The geoelectric method is an effective geophysical method in subsurface mapping by utilizing the electrical properties of rocks. The basic principle of the geoelectric method is to measure resistivity by flowing an electric current into the earth through electrodes. Geoelectrical (resistivity) surveys generally aim to determine the condition or structure of subsurface geology based on variations in rock type resistance. The results of the training showed significant variations in the resistivity of Andesite and Granite rocks, which were indicated as potential resource zones worthy of further exploration. The results of resource potential calculations show that the volume of Andesite is 909,364,491 m³ and the volume of granite is 55,436,878 m³. This training also provides recommendations for residents in Salatiga District, Sambas Regency, to use this as literature to attract investors so they can invest in the area as much as the relevant volume.
