Abstract

The growth of MSMEs in Gorontalo Province plays a significant role in driving the regional economy, yet challenges in utilizing digital marketing strategies remain a major obstacle to optimizing business performance. On the other hand, customer satisfaction is a key factor that can strengthen the relationship between marketing strategies and business outcomes. This study aims to analyze the effect of digital marketing strategies on MSME business performance in Gorontalo with customer satisfaction as a mediating variable. A quantitative approach was employed, involving 52 purposively selected MSME respondents. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling based on Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with SmartPLS 4 software. The results indicate that digital marketing strategies have a direct and significant effect on business performance with a T-statistic value of 2.003 and a P-value of 0.045. Customer satisfaction also has a direct and significant effect on business performance with a T-statistic of 5.699 and a P-value of 0.000. Furthermore, the mediation analysis reveals that customer satisfaction significantly mediates the relationship between digital marketing strategy and business performance (T-statistic = 5.232; P-value = 0.000). These findings highlight the critical role of customer satisfaction in enhancing the effectiveness of digital marketing. Therefore, MSME actors are encouraged to focus not only on technical aspects of digital marketing but also on service quality and customer satisfaction in a comprehensive manner.

Based on the results that have been carried out, it can be seen from the Tcount result of 5.813 with a significance level of 0.000 <0.05. From the data processing results, a sig value of 0.000 was obtained with a probability value of 0.05. Because the sig value is <0.05, performance (X) is significantly related to employee career development (Y). So (Ha) is acceptable. Thus stating that: (Ha) there is a relationship between performance and employee career development (accepted) and Ho there is no relationship between performance and employee career development (rejected).

Abstract

The development of digital technology has driven a transformation in MSME business models, particularly in the use of e-commerce and supply chain management to increase income. This phenomenon highlights the need for empirical studies on the strategic role of these two variables in supporting MSME growth. This study aims to analyze the effect of e-commerce and supply chain management on the income growth of MSMEs. A quantitative research approach was used with Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) as the analytical method, involving a sample of 66 MSMEs. The results showed that e-commerce has a positive and significant effect on MSME income growth, with a T-Statistic value of 3.210 and a P-Value of 0.001. Similarly, supply chain management also has a positive and significant effect, with a T-Statistic value of 7.497 and a P-Value of 0.000. These findings indicate that digital technology integration in marketing and efficient supply chain operations are key factors in enhancing income and ensuring MSME sustainability. Therefore, it is essential for MSME actors to strengthen their digital and managerial capabilities through appropriate training and infrastructure support from the government and business partners.

Abstract

The growing of young entrepreneurs in the digital era reflects a new dynamic in the entrepreneurial landscape, particularly with the rise of digital transformation that has reshaped how businesses operate. However, behind this growth, many young entrepreneurs face challenges in managing their ventures effectively. This study aims to analyze the influence of managerial skills on the success of young entrepreneurs in the digital era, by considering the mediating role of business networks. A quantitative approach was applied using a sample of 52 MSME actors. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling (SEM-PLS). The results show that managerial skills have no direct significant effect on business success (T-statistic = 0.127; P-value = 0.899). However, managerial skills significantly influence business success through the mediation of business networks (T-statistic = 5.207; P-value = 0.000). These findings highlight the crucial role of digital business networks as a bridge between managerial competencies and business performance. The study provides essential implications for digital entrepreneurship development programs that emphasize the synergy between managerial skills and networking strategies.

Abstract

The rapid growth of MSMEs in Indonesia continues to face serious challenges in terms of competitiveness and business sustainability, especially amid global economic pressure and market uncertainty. One strategy believed to improve MSME performance is by strengthening innovation capacity. However, in practice, the influence of innovation capacity on business performance does not occur directly, but is significantly mediated by the business environment. This study employed a quantitative approach using SEM-PLS on 73 MSME respondents and found that innovation capacity has a positive and significant effect on MSME performance when mediated by the business environment (t-statistic = 5.232; p < 0.001). The findings highlight that innovations undertaken by MSMEs become more effective and impactful when supported by a favorable business ecosystem, including market access, regulatory policies, partnerships, and infrastructure. This study enriches the literature on innovation management in MSMEs and provides practical implications for policymakers and stakeholders to build a supportive business environment that enables innovation as a pathway to enhance performance

Abstract

Digital transformation has become a global phenomenon that compels Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to adapt in order to remain competitive. However, field evidence suggests that digitalization does not necessarily enhance competitiveness unless accompanied by strengthened human resource (HR) capabilities. This study aims to analyze the effects of digitalization and HR management on MSME competitiveness using a quantitative method and Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) with 59 MSME respondents. The analysis reveals that HR management has a significant effect on competitiveness, with a t-statistic of 6.985 and a p-value of 0.000. Conversely, digitalization shows no significant influence, with a t-statistic of 0.816 and a p-value of 0.415. These findings affirm that MSME competitiveness is largely driven by internal factors such as HR training, leadership, and a productive work culture. Meanwhile, digitalization will only yield optimal outcomes when supported by skilled human resources and well-directed organizational strategies. This research contributes to the strategic understanding of strengthening MSME competitiveness and serves as a reference for HR-based MSME development policies.

Abstract

The phenomenon of digital transformation has significantly reshaped the operational landscape of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia. However, many MSMEs have struggled to adopt digital technology effectively due to limitations in human resources and weak leadership during change management. This study aims to explore the role of adaptive leadership in managing human resources during the digitalization of MSMEs using a qualitative approach based on a narrative review. Data were synthesized from relevant national and international literature published within the last five years. The findings reveal that adaptive leadership plays a critical role in creating a flexible work environment, fostering organizational learning, and reducing resistance to digital change. Adaptive leaders not only formulate strategies but also promote human capital development through participatory training and cultural transformation. These insights emphasize that the success of MSME digitalization depends not only on technological readiness but also on leadership quality capable of navigating uncertainty with a reflective and collaborative approach. This study contributes conceptually to leadership theory development within the digital MSME context and offers a basis for designing MSME empowerment policies rooted in leadership capacity building.
