Abstract

The problem in this study comes from the phenomenon of declining student character resilience in facing moral challenges in the digital era, such as a culture of showing off (flexing), cyberbullying, and instant mindset, which hinders the formation of patience and tawakal. This study aims to describe how the application of Akidah Akhlak learning in instilling the value of patience and tawakal in MTs NU Darul Anwar students. The method used is descriptive qualitative research with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that Akidah Akhlak learning was carried out through a contextual approach, the use of digital media in the form of inspirational videos, as well as religious habituation such as joint morning prayers and the delivery of exemplary stories. The strategy helps students understand the value of patience and tawakal, and apply it in facing social pressure and academic challenges. However, some students still show obstacles in value appreciation due to the influence of social media. In conclusion, Akidah Akhlak learning has a high urgency to continue to be developed adaptively so that it can become a moral and spiritual fortress for students in the face of rapid digitalization and shifting values.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the muroja’ah method in the memorization program of the Kitab Alfiyyah Ibnu Malik at MA NU Miftahul Falah Cendono Dawe Kudus and its contribution to shaping students' discipline character. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that the scheduled and continuous application of muroja’ah has a significant impact on strengthening student discipline. Students involved in the program demonstrate the ability to manage their time, maintain consistency in memorization, and take responsibility for achieving set targets. The program's success is supported by institutional commitment, active involvement of teachers, and parental support. Despite challenges such as boredom and time conflicts with other activities, teacher motivation and regular evaluations help sustain the program. Thus, the muroja’ah method not only serves as a memorization strategy but also acts as an effective character-building tool, particularly in fostering discipline among students within the Islamic education environment.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the issues that arise in implementing the Independent Curriculum in the Aqidah Akhlak subject, from the perspectives of teachers, students, and the school environment. The research method used qualitative with a descriptive approach, collecting data through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzing it using data reduction, data presentation, and data verification techniques. The results show that the main obstacles lie in human resource readiness, limited teacher understanding of the new curriculum concept, adaptation of teaching materials relevant to aqidah and akhlak values during the learning process, and the lack of supporting facilities. In addition, differences in students’ backgrounds in terms of ability and understanding of religion also pose a challenge in applying varied learning models, requiring teachers to adjust the learning process to meet individual students’ needs. This study recommends enhancing teacher training, developing contextual learning modules, improving facilities to support the Independent Curriculum, and providing full support from educational institutions to ensure its successful implementation in the Aqidah Akhlak subject.

Abstract

Guidance and counseling (GC) services in schools are still largely dominated by secular modern psychology approaches, which tend to neglect the spiritual dimension of students. This condition has led to suboptimal character development and weakened moral awareness among learners. Within the framework of Islamic education, guidance and counseling should serve as a space for spiritual cultivation and the development of noble character. This study aims to examine the integration of Islamic values into the guidance and counseling curriculum as a solution to the moral and identity crisis among students. The research employed a qualitative method by using a library research approach. Data were collected from academic literature, including scientific journals, books, and educational policy documents, and analyzed through stages of issue identification, thematic analysis, and conceptual synthesis. The findings indicate that Islamic values such as tawhid (monotheism), trustworthiness, patience, and sincerity can holistically strengthen GC services—both psychologically and spiritually. Implementation strategies include the development of Islamic-based counseling materials, value-based assessments, counselor training, and collaborative involvement of schools and parents. The study concludes that a contextual reform of the guidance and counseling curriculum is urgently needed to promote transformative education that fosters Islamic character in students comprehensively.

Abstract

The center of Islamic civilization in Jambi City is not merely a legacy of the past requiring preservation, but also a strategic educational asset for Islamic education. A historical analysis of these centers is essential to understanding the trajectory of Islamic educational development in the region. This study aims to identify the centers of Islamic civilization in Jambi City that can serve as learning resources and to determine their practical application within the framework of Islamic education. Employing a literature study method, this research analyzes historical records and academic works related to Jambi’s Islamic heritage. The findings indicate that these sites can be effectively integrated through curricular approaches, extracurricular activities, and the development of specialized learning media. Utilizing Islamic historical sites through a contextual approach makes the learning process more meaningful, interactive, and relevant to contemporary life. Ultimately, the utilization of these centers supports cultural preservation and strengthens the Islamic and national identity of the younger generation. Therefore, it is recommended that educators and policymakers optimize these historical assets to foster a deeper connection between students and their local Islamic heritage.

Abstract

The Islamization of science has become an important issue in efforts to integrate science with the values contained in the Qur'an. This study focuses on the thinking of Fazlur Rahman, who proposed a normative and applicative approach through the double movement method. This study used a library research method with an epistemological approach. The results of the study show that Fazlur Rahman emphasizes the importance of moral responsibility in the development of science so that it does not become a disaster for humanity. According to Fazlur Rahman, the Islamization of science is not merely a matter of labeling science as “Islamic,” but rather a process of epistemological reconstruction based on rationality, ethics, and context. This concept aims to avoid dogmatization and secularization in science. However, Fazlur Rahman wants to make Islam the answer to various social, political, economic, and cultural problems that occur in the modern era.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the integration between Islamic moral values and Kohlberg’s theory of moral development in order to understand the process of students’ moral formation within Islamic education. The research employed a qualitative approach using literature research, analyzing primary and secondary sources related to Islamic ethics and moral development theory. The findings indicate that Islamic moral values such as justice ('adl), honesty (sidq), and responsibility (amanah) can be conceptually aligned with the stages of moral development proposed by Kohlberg. This integration provides a more comprehensive framework for moral education that combines cognitive moral reasoning with spiritual and ethical principles derived from Islamic teachings. The study suggests that Islamic moral education should not only focus on the transmission of moral norms but also encourage reflective ethical reasoning and the internalization of spiritual values in students’ character formation.

Abstract

This article examines Problem Based Learning (PBL) as a relevant learning approach for Islamic Education (PAI) through a literature study. The study was conducted by collecting and analyzing scientific literature related to PBL and Islamic education, then synthesized descriptively based on four research objectives: concepts and basic principles of PBL, characteristics of PBL relevant for PAI, recent research findings, and theoretical and practical implications of PBL implementation. The results show that PBL emphasizes authentic problem-based learning, learner-centered, investigative, collaborative, and reflective. PBL characteristics are in line with Islamic education values, including critical thinking, deliberation, contextualization of religious values, and character development. A synthesis of recent research findings shows the consistent contribution of PBL in improving critical thinking skills, creativity, active engagement, concept understanding, and collaboration and communication skills.
