Abstract

In the digital era, museums need creatively packaged attractions to enhance cultural literacy and increase young people’s interest in visiting. Creating targeted attractions requires collaboration between museums and various stakeholders. Such collaborative attractions can be developed through a community service program that combines literacy, gamification, and digital campaigns with a social marketing approach. This community service activity aims to promote museums within the Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) through the Jejak Langkah Sejarah: Berpetualang dengan Paspor Museum program. The implementation involves two methods. The first is a participatory approach, which directly involves the community in the entire process, from problem identification, planning, and implementation to evaluation. This participatory collaboration engages communities, academics, and cultural influencers and is designed in the form of interactive challenges at three TMII museums. The collaboration also includes pre-event activities such as promotion and coordination. The second method is research-based, integrating the results of previous museum research conducted by Komunitas Jelajah into the design of the community service program. The results show that meaningful experiences—marked by high participant enthusiasm and a positive perception of museums as enjoyable and educational spaces—can encourage repeat visits. The social marketing approach in this activity successfully creates a value exchange between cultural experiences and the engagement of young audiences.

Abstract

Manual management of letter archives in government agencies remains a barrier to efficient administrative services. The main problems faced are delays in document retrieval, the risk of losing physical archives, and the lack of a tracking system and data integration between departments. This study aims to develop a website-based information system for incoming and outgoing letter archives at the Population and Civil Registration Office (Disdukcapil) of Nias Regency. This system is designed to replace manual processes and improve the effectiveness of agency archive management. The method used is the Waterfall software development model, with stages of needs analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. Data collection techniques were carried out through direct field observation, interviews with related employees, and literature studies relevant to digital archiving systems. Analysis was carried out on user needs, business processes for letter management, and testing of the developed system's functionality. The results of the study indicate that this system can speed up the process of recording and tracking letters by up to 50%, reduce the risk of document loss, and improve data accuracy and transparency of disposition. With classified login features, automatic notifications, and digital reporting, this system is considered effective in supporting administrative modernization. The system developed also has the potential to be replicated in other government agencies to encourage digital transformation in public services.

Abstract

Waste management remains a serious issue in Bajak, Bengkulu City, due to the common practice of burning or burying household waste without prior sorting. Through the Community Service Program (KKN), students from the University of Bengkulu initiated a community-based “Bank Sampah” or waste bank from scratch as a solution to increase public awareness and participation in household waste management. This program was implemented using a descriptive qualitative method with participatory and educational approaches, involving local residents in all stages of the activity from socialization, waste sorting, and collection, to recording waste deposits. Sorted inorganic waste was weighed and converted into monetary value as a form of incentive. The results showed positive behavioral changes, improved environmental awareness, and the development of collective responsibility among residents. Despite facing technical limitations, the program ran effectively and has strong potential to serve as a model for community-based, environmentally friendly, and sustainable waste management.

Abstract

The history, culture, and Islamic values of Nagari Sumpur Kudus in Sijunjung Regency, West Sumatra, are very rich, but still lack digital documentation. Local heritage, such as the spread of Islam by Sheikh Ibrahim, the traditional governance system of Rajo Ibadat, and the role of Sumpur Kudus in the Emergency Government of the Republic of Indonesia (PDRI), is scattered in oral stories, collective memory, and local documents that are difficult for the public to access. This condition has led the younger generation to become less familiar with their own history and local identity, which may result in cultural gaps. Through the development of a website based on the culture and history of Nagari Sumpur Kudus, this study aims to record and digitize the local history. Digitalization is considered essential as it allows historical values to be properly preserved and widely, quickly, and sustainably accessed. This effort supports the preservation of cultural heritage in the modern era. To produce a comprehensive representation, a qualitative-descriptive approach was used to collect data, which included field observations, document studies, and semi-structured interviews with local people, religious leaders, and traditional leaders. Descriptive analysis was carried out to interpret the meaning of each source. The results show that digitalization through a website is capable of archiving historical values in a systematic, interactive, and accessible way. Moreover, the website serves as a medium for education, cultural promotion, and strengthening local identity amid globalization. It also has the potential to become a model for community-based local history preservation that is adaptive to technological developments and supports the development of cultural tourism in Nagari Sumpur Kudus.

Abstract

Plastic waste management in Nagari Kudu Gantiang Barat has become an increasingly complex environmental problem due to limited waste processing facilities, a lack of public awareness of the dangers of plastic waste, and the widespread practice of indiscriminate waste disposal. This situation has resulted in increased environmental pollution, declining health, the erosion of village aesthetics, and a weakening of collective awareness of maintaining environmental cleanliness. Therefore, efforts are needed that directly involve the community and provide simple, easy-to-implement solutions to reduce plastic waste. This study aims to implement and evaluate the effectiveness of the ecobrick movement carried out by UNP KKN students as an alternative for managing plastic waste that is more environmentally friendly and can empower the community. The methods used included outreach activities, technical training, household plastic waste collection, and hands-on ecobrick-making practice with local residents.  The analytical technique employed was qualitative descriptive analysis through observation, documentation, and evaluation of community involvement throughout the entire activity series. The research results showed that over two hundred ecobrick bottles were successfully produced and used as village boundary markers. This program raised community awareness about waste management, fostered a spirit of mutual cooperation, and opened up opportunities to utilize waste as a valuable alternative material. Overall, the ecobrick movement has proven feasible and can be replicated in other areas.

Abstract

Electrical safety in household installations is a critical issue due to the high incidence of fires caused by electrical faults, particularly in densely populated residential areas. Preliminary observations in RT 006/RW 005 Pamulang revealed that residents had never conducted independent inspections of electrical current and load conditions and lacked the ability to use measuring tools such as clamp meters, resulting in undetected hazards such as overloads and leakage currents. This Community Service Program (PKM) aims to enhance residents’ knowledge and skills in measuring electrical current, identifying potential electrical hazards, and implementing preventive actions in accordance with the PUIL 2011 safety standard. The program employed a participatory–educational approach consisting of initial surveys, preparation of technical materials, tool demonstrations, and hands-on field practice. Evaluation was conducted using pre-test and post-test questionnaires, supported by direct observation of participants’ ability to operate clamp meters during practice sessions. The results indicate a significant improvement in understanding the function of clamp meters, overload risks, and leakage current detection. Participants successfully operated the clamp meter independently, interpreted measurement readings accurately, and identified circuits exceeding safe current limits. This program has effectively increased community awareness of electrical safety and strengthened the application of K3 principles at the household level. It also provides a sustainable training model that can be implemented at the community level.
