Abstract

Surabaya faces challenges in providing healthcare services for children with autism, particularly due to the limited availability of therapy and developmental monitoring facilities. This creates difficulties for families seeking the necessary care. The design of the Child Development Clinic in Surabaya aims to offer healthcare and therapy services, as well as monitor and evaluate the developmental progress of autistic children aged 0-12 years. The clinic is also designed to serve as a consultation and educational facility for parents, communities, and the general public regarding autism. The methodology includes primary data collection through field surveys, interviews, and documentation, along with secondary data from literature studies. The outcome of the design is the application of a multi-sensory approach, tailored to the needs of autistic children who have heightened sensitivity to environmental elements. This approach is expected to create a therapeutic environment that supports the optimal development of children with autism. Keywords: autism, children, child develompent clinic, multy-sensory

Abstract

The design of the Textile Museum in Bandung City aims to preserve and introduce Indonesia's cultural heritage, especially textile art, as an important part of the nation's cultural identity and wealth. This museum is an important forum for increasing cultural awareness, strengthening local identity, and developing the education, tourism and economic sectors of local communities. Against the background of decreasing interest in local culture, especially textile arts, due to the influence of globalization, it is hoped that the design of this museum will be a relevant solution. The results of this museum design include the development of interactive and participatory spaces that aim to build an interesting and immersive visitor experience. With a participatory space system, this museum is not only a collection storage place, but also a learning environment that allows visitors to be actively involved in creating new meanings and experiences. Apart from that, it is hoped that this museum can become a learning center that encourages innovation, creativity and development of the creative textile industry. The benefits of designing a Textile Museum in Bandung City include maintaining and preserving Indonesia's cultural heritage, increasing cultural awareness, strengthening local identity, as well as developing the education, tourism and economic sectors of local communities. Abstract

Orphanages are social institutions responsible for providing social welfare services to children in need to achieve a better life. Orphanages function as substitute families, with caregivers acting as parents in meeting the developmental needs of children. Children living in orphanages have the right to education, a good environment, health facilities, and adequate nutrition. Data from the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs shows that the number of abandoned children has reached 67,368, and the number of orphans has reached 106,406, with 4,800 of them in orphanages, most of which are located on the island of Java. Research shows that 94% of children in orphanages are not orphans, but come from underprivileged families. Life in an orphanage can cause psychological problems for children, such as feelings of inferiority, apathy, and difficulties in social relationships. However, there are still many orphanages in the city of Bandung that experience limited facilities for child care. Therefore, planning needs to be done to meet the needs and feasibility of orphanages both in terms of facilities and paying attention to the psychological condition of children. Abstract

The Social Working Women's Fund (PSKW) is a government effort to help homeless women and Susila Tuna Women (WTS) return to normal life in accordance with social norms. PSKW's mission is to provide treatment and rehabilitation, enhance guidance, service, and reintegration into society. Bandung is a problem of prostitution, and women's welfare institutions have great potential to provide assistance and support to women engaged in prostitution or being victims of human trafficking. Rehabilitation that not only focuses on the religious aspect, but also involves skills training, psychological support, education, and the development of a positive environment, will be a more effective step. Thunfish women undergoing social rehabilitation often have traumatic backgrounds, low self-esteem, illicit substance addiction, and difficulties in building relationships and building resilience. Abstract

Libraries are important facilities for storing, maintaining and using collections of books and other library materials. Apart from its educational function, libraries have also developed into recreational facilities. Indonesian people's interest in visiting libraries, although relatively low, has increased significantly in recent years. In Bandung, the number of library visits will increase by 27% in 2023, supported by several factors such as modern library designs and diverse facilities. Community activities in libraries have also developed not just as a place to read books but also as a social and recreational facility. So the design of a recreational library building needs to be considered. Seeing the trend of technology integration in library systems and facilities, this recreational library needs to be designed by applying technology applications to its interior while still taking into consideration not to leave behind the essence of the meaning of the library itself. The aim of this design is to create a new technology-based recreational library design in the city of Bandung. To increase public interest in visiting libraries with strategic locations, an area that is known as a tourist destination, namely Cihampelas or Ciwalk Bandung, was chosen as the location for the new design. Abstract

In Indonesia, child-rearing responsibilities predominantly fall on women due to patriarchal cultural influences that assign household and caregiving duties solely to mothers. This imbalance increases the risk of mental health issues for women, including postpartum depression, which is often caused by hormonal changes and the heavy burden of caregiving. The postpartum period is crucial for the recovery of both mother and baby, yet postpartum care facilities in Indonesia remain limited and insufficient in providing comfort and privacy. A survey of mothers who gave birth in the past two years reveals that many feel inadequately supported in their physical and mental recovery. This study employed a survey methodology to assess the needs of postpartum women and examined the potential of postpartum care centers adopting a healing environment concept. Findings indicate that implementing the healing environment concept in the interior design of postpartum care centers can create a calming atmosphere, expedite recovery, and raise awareness of the importance of postpartum care and the division of child-rearing responsibilities. This research highlights the need for more comprehensive postpartum care facilities in Indonesia and provides insights into how design can enhance maternal health outcomes. Keywords: Interior, Mental, Recovery, Healing, Postpartum.

Abstract

Coworking spaces are co-working spaces that combine elements of informal and creative spaces, enabling a more dynamic collaboration. The design of co-working space in Bandung aims to create a workspace that is not only a place to rent, but also a place to connect, create, and collaborate. Data collection methods include interviews with co-working managers who are used as comparative studies, direct observation of three co-working spaces, as well as literature and precedent studies. Data analysis was conducted qualitatively descriptively, aiming to understand the co-working phenomenon in Bandung and formulate the appropriate design concept. The co-working phenomenon in each region depends on the characteristics of the region itself. Bandung, as one of the major cities in Indonesia known for its innovation and creative economy, is a strategic location for the development of co-working spaces. The design of this new co-working space in Bandung uses the <Concrete Space= brand identity approach that focuses on connection, creativity, and collaboration in accordance with its vision and mission. The design overcomes the problem of overlapping space usage with a more effective division of zones. Each floor is designed based on the characteristics of the brand's activities for specific functions, from collaborative workspaces, open and closed event areas, to private areas for rental offices. There are also collaboration booths for specialized collaboration in accordance with the brand's vision and mission. The brand identity approach is applied both externally and internally, through design elements such as shapes, colors, materials, and lighting that reflect the brand's characteristics. Keywords: co-working space, brand identity, flexible, collaboration.

Abstract

In recent years, Bogor has seen an increase in the number of tourists coming to the city, which creates significant opportunities for the accommodation sector. Lodging accommodations are needed for such needs, hence the construction of a new branch of lodging accommodations in Tamansari. The area is well known for its natural beauty and cultural heritage. However, several issues arose when planning this new branch. First, there is no concept of locality in the existing interior design of Grand Cempaka Resort and Convention Hotel and similar resort hotels in the Bogor area, even though there are regulations from the government to promote the concept of locality in tourism venues. Second, there are problems in the comfort aspect of the existing hotel, which is related to sound conditioning, lighting, and ventilation. Third, there is a problem of facilities at the existing Grand Cempaka Resort and Convention Hotel which is not in accordance with 3- star hotel standards. Local government regulations emphasize the importance of local culture to increase tourism competitiveness. The design of this resort hotel has the aim that guests feel comfortable and have a different tourist experience in Bogor by using the local traditions of the Tamansari Bogor area, namely in the Sindang Barang Cultural Village, especially in the Serentaun Ceremony which is implemented in the form of interior space using the tradition transformation method, namely the ATUMICS method. Abstract

: Bandung is one of the cities that provides many new ideas in terms of entrepreneurial creativity in Indonesia. 56% of the economy of Bandung City comes from the creative industry. In Cibiru District itself there has been an improvement in the economy after the COVID-19 pandemic. There are 6,000 MSMEs consisting of culinary (38%), services (26%), fashion (25%), and arts and crafts (11%). However, there are still many MSMEs who run their businesses individually, conventionally, and need a place to sell. There is a competition in the form of design ideas for a Cibiru creative center, discussions regarding waste processing or management issues, regional head priority programs in the form of 1 youth creativity center per region and sub-district co-working space, and the absence of facilities to be able to facilitate all the needs of the Cibiru community, especially MSMEs in one area. location, is the main reason for the need to carry out Interior Design for the Cibiru Creative Center in Bandung City with a Sustainable Approach, in order to improve the quality of the environment from an ecological, economic and social perspective. Abstract

Kiaracondong Station, one of the largest stations in Bandung City, faces a significant increase in passenger volume, resulting in ergonomic issues related to space layout and circulation. This study evaluates the impact of increasing user numbers on comfort and circulation efficiency at the station, and designs solutions based on ergonomic principles. The research methods include direct observation, interviews, and analysis of space usage data. Findings indicate that poorly organized circulation pathways hinder passenger mobility and create potential injury risks. Proposed solutions include separating zones based on user mobility speeds, reorganizing waiting areas, and adding facilities that support passenger needs, such as trolley areas and comfortable seating. The design approach prioritizes ergonomics and open linear circulation to enhance efficiency, safety, and comfort at Kiaracondong Station.
