Abstract

The purpose of establishing the Public Service Mall in Payakumbuh City is to facilitate the public in managing permits. Therefore, the interior of the public service office must be designed to be comfortable and user-friendly. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method, with primary data obtained through interviews, documentation, and observation, and secondary data derived from literature reviews and precedent studies. The findings of this study indicate that the design of the Public Service Mall requires a human-centered approach, specifically a behavioral approach that analyzes human activities within the space and creates a more organized and well-directed spatial layout. Additionally, clear directional signage is necessary for visitors. This redesign is expected to fulfill the primary objective of the Public Service Mall, which is to reduce queues and facilitate public service access. Abstract

There are a bunch of reasons why reading interest is low in Indonesia. Including a lack of activities that spark reading interest, limited reading materials, and low book sales. Because of this, the government really needs to focus on building facilities that match people's interests and prioritize social interactions. This is also true for the Tangerang Regency Library, which is trying to boost reading interest by making the library a hub for social interaction. The Tangerang Public Library is dealing with low reading interest and visitor numbers, especially among teens and adults, partly because of inadequate facilities and limited space. To tackle these issues, the library's interior needs a redesign to support activities like studying, discussing, and relaxing. By making better use of the space and improving security, these design changes are based on data from interviews, observations, field studies, and literature reviews to make sure everything meets the standards. Hopefully, this redesign will fit the community’s needs. Keywords: library, reading interst, redesign, Tangerang regency, visiting interst

Abstract

In this rapidly developing era, libraries play a crucial role in seeking information and knowledge from various sources, given the significant changes brought about by technology in society. To attract students, libraries are required to keep up with the times by providing good and comprehensive facilities and appealing interiors. The redesign aims to address existing issues and maintain the quality and functionality of library spaces, providing users with a better learning experience and creating a visual identity to enhance institutional image. Data collection methods include distributing questionnaires to respondents, conducting interviews with library managers, surveys, and benchmarking studies. Abstract

Singaparna Medika Citrautama (SMC) Regional General Hospital is located at Jl. Raya Rancamaya, Tasikmalaya Regency, West Java. This research aims to redesign the interior of the Singaparna Medika Citrautama Regional General Hospital (SMC) of Tasikmalaya Regency with the Indoor Health and Comfort (IHC) approach. The IHC approach emphasizes the importance of creating a healthy and comfortable indoor environment that improves the well-being of patients and health workers. In the research design the methods used include observation, interviews with medical staff, and surveys to patients and visitors to understand their needs and expectations of the hospital interior space. The findings from this study suggest that interior redesign should prioritize the use of natural light, ventilation, and materials that promote a sense of calm and relaxation. In addition, components that encourage social interaction and community building among patients and healthcare workers should be included in the design. This study found that the Indoor Health and Comfort (IHC) method can significantly improve the hospital environment, which impacts on better patient outcomes and satisfaction levels in both employees and doctors. The findings of this study can serve as a reference for future hospital design projects, emphasizing the importance of integrating indoor health and comfort principles into the design process. Abstract

This research focuses on the interior redesign of SDIT Az-Zahra to create an optimal learning environment for students aged 6-12 years. As an Islamic primary school, SDIT Az-Zahra integrates the national curriculum with Islamic education, requiring an interior design that supports both academic activities and religious practices. However, the current issues at SDIT Az-Zahra, such as inefficient furniture placement, poor space organization, and the selection of furniture that does not meet students' ergonomic needs, have resulted in a less conducive learning atmosphere. A flexible space approach is proposed as a solution to address these challenges, enabling more adaptive and functional space arrangements. The redesigned interior, with a focus on flexibility and ergonomics, is expected to enhance comfort, improve the effectiveness of the teaching and learning process, and support the overall physical and cognitive development of the students. This study also highlights the importance of aligning interior design with the curriculum to create a more holistic educational environment that aligns with Islamic values. Abstract

The need for healthcare services in Indonesia is crucial and a top priority for improving the quality of life of its citizens. The quality of healthcare services largely depends on nurses, who constitute the majority of healthcare workers in Indonesia. STIKes Indonesia Wirautama Ciparay, as the only higher education institution in the field of health in Ciparay, is committed to producing professional healthcare personnel. With the increasing number of students, a second campus was established in 2022. However, this new building lacks adequate facilities, such as practical laboratories and classrooms that do not meet national standards. This study aims to redesign the interior of the new building of STIKes Indonesia Wirautama Ciparay using an activity-based approach to create a comfortable and supportive learning environment. This approach focuses not only on creating physical comfort in the rooms but also on providing facilities that support the teaching and learning process. Thus, it is expected to create a more focused and comfortable learning environment, helping to improve the quality of education and produce competent and professional healthcare personnel.
