Abstract

Salah satu tantangan utama dalam industri fashion adalah menciptakan produk yang kreatif agar mampu bersaing dengan kompetitor di pasar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan solusi inovatif terkait tantangan tersebut dengan memanfaatkan limbah benang akrilik dari konveksi rajut Kaangge sebagai bahan baku utama. Konveksi rajut Kaangge menghasilkan limbah hingga 40 kilogram per minggu, terutama berupa benang. Penelitian ini berfokus pada pengolahan limbah benang menjadi lembaran kain eksploratif dengan teknik wet felting, yang dapat diaplikasikan pada busana wanita siap pakai dengan gaya kasual. Tujuannya adalah memberikan nilai jual dan estetika baru pada limbah tersebut. Selain itu, penelitian ini mengeksplorasi potensi limbah benang sebagai bahan baku fashion yang lebih berkelanjutan. Dengan metode kualitatif, data dikumpulkan melalui studi literatur, observasi, wawancara, serta eksplorasi. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa limbah benang akrilik dapat diolah menjadi kain kokoh dan fleksibel, dengan beragam tekstur dan warna yang unik. Kata kunci: limbah, benang, felting, upcycle, ready to wear

Abstract

Denim seringkali dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan dasar pembuatan produk fashionyang masih sangat populer sampai saat ini. Banyaknya produksi yang dilakukan membuatsisa hasil dari potongan kain tersebut menjadi sebuah limbah, biasanya sisa potongantersebut berasal dari konfeksi dan jasa permak. Salah satu konfeksi denim yaitu TeddyCollection tidak memanfaatkan hasil limbah sisa produksi dan dibuang begitu saja.Penelitian ini bertujuan sebagai upaya pengurangan limbah denim dengan menghasilkanlembaran-lembaran kain baru yang lebih eksploratif dengan tekstur yang beragam dalamsatu lembaran kain tersebut. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah reka rakitdengan teknik wet felting. Merujuk pada penelitian sebelumnya dan wawancara yangtelah dilakukan penerapan teknik felting pada limbah denim dapat menyesuaikan denganberbagai jenis bahan dan ukuran material sehingga penerapan felting menjadi teknik yangpaling efektif untuk digunakan dalam pemanfaatan limbah agar tidak menyisakan limbahbaru. Hasil dari penelitian yang telah dilakukan dari proses eksplorasi, analisa, dan risetmenunjukan bahwa memanfaatkan material serat denim menggunakan teknik wetfelting menjadi yang paling berpotensi. Penelitian ini menghasilkan sebuah lembaraneksploratif. Lembaran tersebut kemudian diterapkan pada produk busana ready to wearwanita.

Abstract

berdasarkan tren yang terus berubah disetiap tahunnya membuat tingginya minat serta permintaan masyarakat terhadap produk fashion. Penggunaan produk fashion yang terjadi memanfaatkan berbagai jenis kain termasuk denim, karena material denim menjadi salah satu material yang mendominasi mayoritas masyarakat di dunia. Penumpukan limbah yang terjadi tidak hanya terjadi pada industri besar saja tetapi terjadi juga pada industri rumahan terutama pada konfeksi denim. Pengolahan limbah tersebut dapat dilakukan dengan metode upcycle sehingga dapat menaikkan nilai estetika, ekonomi, serta fungsional. Penggunaan metode upcycle dapat dilakukan dengan cara menerapkan teknikLsurface textile design. Penelitian ini menggunakanLmetode kualitatif berupa pengumpulan data yaitu studi literatur,Lobservasi, wawancara, dan eksplorasi. Berdasarkan metode penelitian yang dilakukan, ditemukannya peluang untuk mengembangkan limbah yang dihasilkan dari produksi konfeksi Warung Jeans dengan menerapkan teknik surface textile design berupa patchwork dan fabric manipulation untuk menghasilkan tiga look busana wanita dengan tujuan dapat membuat perputaran baru terhadap limbah yang dihasilkan pada industri rumahan tersebut. Abstract

Industri fashion berkembang pesat di Indonesia, tingginya minat dan permintaan konsumen dalam bidang fashion membuat industri fashion berlomba-lomba menarik minat konsumen dengan menghadirkan berbagai macam koleksi busana terbaru setiap musimnya. Hal tersebut berdampak pada limbah hasil industri fashion. Limbah industri fashion mengalami peningkatan pada setiap tahunnya, dikarenakan tidak diolah secara optimal serta produksi masal yang dilakukan oleh industri fashion. Terdapat penumpukan limbah kain sisa produksi yang dibiarkan pada ruang pola, limbah kain tersebut merupakan suatu permasalahan karena mengganggu volume ruangan di konfeksi Anastasya Modiste. Pengolahan limbah kain dapat dimaksimalkan menggunakan metode upcycle untuk menaikan nilai, estetika, ekonomi, dan fungsional dengan teknik surface textile design berupa boro stitching yaitu penambalan permukaan kain, serta penambahan teknik fabric manipulation untuk mengubah suatu tampilan atau bentuk dari kain yang akan diaplikasikan sebagai dekorasi pada busana ready to wear deluxe berupa dress. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pengumpulan data berupa studi literatur, observasi, wawancara, dan eksplorasi pada limbah kain sisa produksi konfeksi Anastasya Modiste. Abstract

Batik telah dikenal sebagai salah satu kain tradisional yang memiliki nilai keterampilan tangan yang tinggi. Batik kontemporer dapat diartikan sebagai modern yang memiliki unsur kreasi baru, motif dan gayanya tidak terikat aturan seperti pada isen-isen tradisonal, sehingga penciptan motif tergantung pada kreativitas penciptanya. Begitupula dengan alat-alat dan teknik dalam pembuatan batik yang tidak terbatas, salah satunya batik cap. Batik cap memiliki kelebihan dalam proses pembuatannya yang cepat dan harga yang relatif terjangkau, namun variasi motif masih terbatas hanya berupa pengulangan. Oleh karena itu, dari penelitian sebelumnya ditemukan bahwa melalui teknik batik cap modular memungkinkan menghasilkan variasi motif yang lebih beragam. Kampung Naga sebagai inspirasi visual penciptaan batik kontemporer dipilih karena masih mempertahankan potensi kearifan lokal berupa bangunan adat dan lingkungan alam yang asri. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode pengumpulan data kualitatif, yang bersumber dari studi literatur, eksplorasi, dan wawancara. Hasil akhir dari penelitian akan difokuskan pada perancangan motif batik kontemporer menggunakan teknik batik cap modular yang diaplikasikan pada lembaran kain. Abstract

South Jakarta is a city that moves in a fast pace in accordance to trends and development which contributed to the rise of their economy which is seen in the impact of the business as well. Jakarta is known for their large agglomeration due to its impact from immigration of new settlers coming from different areas which shaped economic conditions to the maximum potential. (Waworoentoe, 2019) The entrance of noodle culture in Indonesia is caused by the acculturation happening between the people of China with Indonesian locals which resulted in fusion of food, and that9s how the term 8Mie9 was localized. (Sunuantari et al., 2019). The idea of this research is to create an exploration guide around South Jakarta using noodle restaurants embarking target audience on a journey to lift up 8worth-trying9 noodle business. Inspired by the work of Tirta Lie9s <Tirta Lie 100+ Bakmi Terlezat Di Jakarta= (2019) the design of the book will include complete guidance about noodle places in regards to their ambience, price range, type of noodles, operating hours and most importantly contacts available to reach out to business owners. The outcome of this project is needed based on several reasons: (1) For readers to be able to explore noodle restaurants around South Jakarta, (2) Communicating design results through visualized diagram, and (3) To uplift (spread awareness about) noodle business by using a promotional method that is available through informative media. An illustrative guidebook is a solution to the points mentioned above as it generates visual in forms of illustration that could be translated by the artist as a communication tool for the readers. To strengthen this research the author collects data in various forms such as literature studies, questionnaires and observations and will be adapting qualitative method for the purpose of quality control in finding the most delicious bowl of noodles eligible for target audience to taste. Abstract

The issue of single-use plastic waste has become a global spotlight because of its negative impact on the environment. A number of large cities in Indonesia, including Jakarta, Semarang, Surabaya, Bandung, Palembang and Medan, have taken part in taking issue with this problem, with the city of Bandung ranking third in terms of the amount of potential waste reaching 1,301 tons every day. From data submitted by the Bandung City Environmental Service, it was revealed that more than 50 tons of plastic waste is produced every day, mainly from food and drink packaging. Studies conducted by the Bandung Institute of Technology show that around 70% of total city waste comes from plastic, posing risks to the environment and public health. Plastic food packaging not only has a negative impact on human health due to its chemical compounds, but is also detrimental to the environment due to its ability to decompose slowly. Lack of public awareness and understanding of the impact of single-use plastic on the environment and health is the main cause of this problem. In addition, small and large businesses that provide a lot of food and drink often choose single-use plastic or double-layer plastic because they are considered safe and able to maintain product quality. To overcome this, the proposed strategy is to launch a commercial campaign regarding zero waste management to change public perception, especially among students, workers and business owners, regarding the use of single-use plastic in food and beverage packaging. The campaign aims to promote environmentally friendly practices, encouraging the reduction, reuse and recycling of plastic waste. Abstract

Historical Tourism in Indonesia is one of the things that is of interest to tourists. This is due to tourists' curiosity about history - history that occurred in the past. Then historical tourism is also important for visitors to increase their opinion of the surrounding area, and visitors can better appreciate the story behind it. One example is Lawang Sewu which is located in Semarang, Indonesia. This iconic structure, known as the "Thousand Doors", serves as a reminder of Indonesia's colonial past and its journey to independence. Built during the Dutch colonial period in the early 20th century, Lawang Sewu offers architectural charm that attracts visitors from all over the world. Lawang Sewu is also a witness to the history of the development of trains in Indonesia. The historical value of Lawang Sewu is the cornerstone of Semarang's tourism industry, attracting curious tourists who want to delve into the past. By preserving this architectural gem and highlighting its historical importance, Semarang can capitalize on its cultural tourism potential, encouraging economic growth and appreciation of Indonesia's diverse cultural heritage. This research aims to create interactive signage and wayfinding for visitors so that they can easily find out where they are, and don't forget to also provide the information needed by visitors.. The research method used to analyze and obtain the required data is a qualitative method supported by interviews with experts and also questionnaires distributed related to Lawang Sewu. This Interactive Signage is aimed at the audience who are visiting Lawang Sewu with a barcode in it so that they can get information about Lawang Sewu so that the audience can learn more. appreciate the story behind Lawang Sewu, and don't forget to preserve historical buildings in Indonesia. Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a crucial role in local economies. Romano, an MSME specializing in coconut Sagon, struggles with brand awareness, making it hard to attract new customers. This study explores the importance of branding and provides insight into Romano's current business state. Data was collected through interviews with Romano’s owner, observations comparing Romano with competitors, and questionnaires with over 100 respondents to gauge consumer preferences. The study used the Activities, Interests, and Opinions (AIO) Model to map the customer journey, SWOT analysis to assess Romano's market position, and a Comparison Matrix to evaluate brand identity. The findings show that branding significantly influences customer decision-making. Romano's current branding is inadequate and misaligned with its target audience's preferences. This research underscores the need for Romano to create a strong branding to attract more customers. Keywords: MSME, branding, Sagon

Abstract

Since the Covid 19 virus spread around the world in 2020, the virus has affected almost every aspect of people's lives in Indonesia. From the economy, society, and education. Students are taking online classes without knowing when they will come back to school or college. Many students became detached from society and had social withdrawal. This research aims to explore the phenomenon of social isolation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, especially in teenagers and young adults and how this phenomenon can be used as a basis for developing a short film as a final project. Through a several data collection method such as literature review, observations, questionnaires and analysis from the references of several similar works, this research seeks to identify that the pandemic has caused drastic changes in teenagers and young adult social lives, with restrictions such as lockdowns and social distancing triggering self-isolation and deep feelings of loneliness. Based on the data that will be obtained, the author intends to produce a short film that depicts in detail the emotional experiences of teenagers and young adults during social isolation, exploring feelings of loneliness, worries about the future, and their efforts to find human connections in difficult situations.
