Abstract

Excessive conversion of agricultural land for industrial or residential uses has reduced the supply of pandan wangi rice due to shrinking farmland. This study aims to identify and analyze the local government’s role, the inhibiting factors, and efforts to overcome obstacles in preserving Pandan Wangi rice farming land in Cianjur Regency. Using a qualitative descriptive method based on Sondang P. Siagian’s theory (2009: 132), the research involved 18 informants and used primary and secondary data. Data collection included interviews, observation, and documentation, with analysis through data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. Findings show the government protects Pandan Wangi rice land by formulating and enforcing regulations, notably Regional Regulation No. 19/2012 for Pandanwangi preservation, supported by Spatial Planning Regulation No. 4/2019. Integrated spatial planning uses agro-ecological maps and GIS for land zoning, buffer zones, and core area protection. Preservation is embedded in RPJMD/RKPD documents to align all sectoral policies with the protection of Pandanwangi fields. Routine coordination forums involve the Agriculture Service, Spatial Planning Service, Bappeda, Environmental Service, MP3C, and village governments. Stakeholder engagement includes farmer groups, MP3C, academics, NGOs, and market players in Village Musrenbang/Musrenbangcam, public forums, and technical workshops. Sustainable land management is enforced through soil and water conservation practices like terracing, legume rotation, organic mulch, and micro irrigation. Promotion and product image strengthening are achieved by supporting Geographical Indications for Pandanwangi rice to protect its authenticity and increase its premium market value.

Abstract

This study analyzed the irrigation water needs in the western region of Indramayu, Indonesia, using the KP-01 method and the CROPWAT 8.0 application. The main focus of this study is the importance of effective water management in agriculture, especially in the midst of increasing demand and climate change. Climatological data, soil characteristics, and crop information are collected to estimate irrigation needs. The results show that CROPWAT 8.0 is superior to the KP-01 method in terms of resource use efficiency, ease of use, flexibility, and reproducibility of results. CROPWAT 8.0 recorded the highest irrigation needs in January, while the KP-01 method recorded the highest in September. Although KP-01 provides more accurate and regulatory compliant water demand figures, CROPWAT 8.0 is more efficient for large-scale data processing. Daily evapotranspiration (ETo) variations ranged from 2.6 mm/day to 4.0 mm/day, with the highest ETo occurring in December. The highest irrigation water demand was recorded in September (1,850 ltr/second/ha) and the lowest in June (0,199 ltr/second/ha). The ETo calculation using CROPWAT shows an annual average value of 4.84 mm/day, with fluctuations affected by temperature, humidity, and solar radiation. The findings aim to optimize water resource management and increase agricultural productivity in the region. The selection of the right method depends on the specific needs and applicable regulations.

Abstract

Digital transformation is revolutionizing global business, prompting all industries, including banking, to embrace digital technologies, with BRI leading the way through innovations like the BRI Cash Management System (CMS) to cater to evolving customer demands. This study examines the factors influencing the behavioral intention and use behavior of non-individual customers in adopting the Qlola BRI digital banking application. Using the UTAUT model, the research highlights that performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, facilitating conditions, and behavioral intention significantly impact the adoption and usage of Qlola BRI. Additionally, the moderating role of user experience was found to significantly strengthen the influence of effort expectancy on behavioral intention, while weakening the effect of social influence. However, experience did not significantly moderate the relationship between facilitating conditions and use behavior. The findings suggest that companies with higher experience rely more on their own judgment rather than social influence when deciding to use digital banking technologies. This study provides valuable insights for banks and financial institutions to enhance user adoption strategies by focusing on ease of use, performance benefits, and reliable support infrastructure.

Abstract

The development of artificial intelligence technology has brought significant impacts in various elements of daily life, such as in systems for managing personal data. Examining how artificial intelligence works in Indonesia's implementation of Law Number 27 of 2022 on the Protection of Personal Data is the aim of this study. The primary subjects of conversation are the legality of handling personal data with AI technology and the function of AI in Indonesia's execution of the Personal Data Protection Act. Normative legal research using a legislative framework is the methodology employed and analytical approach, through literature study of regulations, legal literature, and related policies. The results showed that: The role of artificial intelligence in the implementation of Law No. 27 of 2022 on Personal Data Protection in Indonesia presents both efficiency opportunities and serious challenges to the protection of individual privacy rights. Although this law has adopted data protection principles according to international standards, the unavailability of technical regulations and accountability mechanisms for the use of artificial intelligence creates a legal gap that needs to be addressed immediately. Therefore, legal certainty over the use of this technology requires regulations that are adaptive, principle-based, and uphold human rights through institutional strengthening, algorithmic supervision, and the application of the principle of explainability in responsive and humanist governance. This research recommends the need to strengthen technical regulations, algorithmic accountability mechanisms, and adaptive institutional supervision so that Human rights and legal certainty are upheld when artificial intelligence is used to manage personal data.

Abstract

This study examines the process of acculturation between Islamic law and customary law in Betawi society from a historical perspective. Using qualitative research methods with secondary data analysis, this article traces the historical traces of the entry of Islam into Batavia/Betawi and its interaction with pre-existing local traditions. The analysis focuses on key domains such as family law (marriage and inheritance), life cycle rituals, and mechanisms of community governance and dispute resolution. It is found that acculturation is not a linear process, but rather a complex dynamic involving harmonization, syncretism, adaptation, negotiation, and sometimes conflict, especially evident in inheritance law practices. External factors such as Dutch colonial legal policies (e.g., theorie receptie) and the development of post-independence Indonesian national law (Marriage Law No. 1/1974, Compilation of Islamic Law) have also shaped the landscape of interaction between these two normative systems. This study concludes that Betawi society, with a strong Islamic identity, dynamically negotiates and integrates Islamic teachings with their customary heritage, resulting in unique and ever-evolving socio-legal practices.

Abstract

The development of artificial intelligence (AI) has had a major impact on various sectors, including the legal and judicial systems, which demand a transformation towards digitalization and efficiency. This research aims to analyze the contribution of AI in transforming conventional legal practices towards a more adaptive justice system, as well as examine the ethical, regulatory, and technological challenges that arise. This research uses a qualitative approach with literature studies as the main technique, reviewing literature, legal documents, and case studies of the application of AI in the judicial system in various countries. The findings show that AI is able to improve the efficiency and accuracy of legal processes, but its implementation still faces obstacles in terms of regulation, algorithm transparency, and institutional readiness. The transformation of the legal system through AI is inevitable, but it needs to be accompanied by regulatory reform, increased legal digital literacy, and the principle of prudence in its application in order to uphold substantive justice.

Abstract

Indonesian konjac (Amorphophallus muelleri Blume) naturally grows on forest under the shade of the trees. However, this crop has become an important commercial tuber crop due to the whay the  tuber crops, Indonesian konjac has been cultivated by employing the relatively high input in cultural practices, especially the use of fertilizer. NPK fertilizer has been commonly used to cultivate Indonesian konjac to produce high yield of corm. The present study was undertaken to evaluate the residual effect of NPK fertilizer on growth and corm yield of Indonesian konjac. Vertisol soil previously unfertilized (A), previously fertilized with 100 kg NPK/ha (B) and previously fertilized with 200 kg NPK/ha (C) were used to grow Indonesian konjac. The Indonesian konjac grown on each soil (A, B or C) was fertilized with 0 kg NPK/ha, 150 kg NPK/ha and 300 kg NPK/ha. Thus, the study used 9 treatments, and each treatment was replicated three times. All data obtained were analyzed by employing the standard deviation from 3 replicates. The results of the present study revealed that NPK fertilizer addition did not increase plant height, shoot diameter, shoor dry weight, corm diameter, corm thickness and corm fresh weight of Indonesian konjac grown on Vertisol soil previously unfertilized, previously fertilized with 100 kg NPK/ha or previously fertilized with 200 kg NPK/ha. Thus, the results of the present study suggest that Vertisol soil is fertile and addition of NPK fertilizer is not necessary to grow this kind of konjac.

Abstract

This study presents a systematic literature review (SLR) of 35 global and Indonesia-based scholarly articles to investigate how Destination Brand Experience (DBE) influences tourist satisfaction and loyalty, particularly within the domain of cultural tourism. The review adopts a hybrid SLR and interpretive synthesis approach to evaluate the impact of four DBE dimensions—sensory, affective, behavioral, and intellectual—on visitor experience outcomes. Drawing on the Expectancy-Disconfirmation Theory, the review highlights satisfaction as a key mediating factor between DBE and tourists’ revisit and recommendation intentions. Findings show that while DBE is widely recognized as a multidimensional construct in tourism literature, empirical research remains concentrated in Western, festival, or nature-based settings. The case of Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) is examined to contextualize these findings in a revitalized cultural theme park in the Global South. This review proposes a conceptual framework for future empirical testing and suggests strategic directions for enhancing experience-based destination branding in culturally diverse and emerging tourism economies.

Abstract

The unclear regulation regarding Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Law Number 27 of 2022 concerning Personal Data Protection (UU PDP) poses significant challenges in personal data protection in Indonesia, especially in automatic data processing, algorithm transparency, and accountability for AI-based decisions. The current PDP Law focuses on general data protection without explicitly regulating how AI can process, store, and use personal data, thus creating legal loopholes that can be exploited by various parties. The main risks that arise include data exploitation without consent, information leakage, data scraping, and discrimination due to algorithmic bias that may harm certain individuals or groups. In addition, the black box problem phenomenon in AI-based decision-making further complicates legal accountability because the system works in a complex and difficult-to-understand way. Without strict regulations, certain companies or entities can use AI to make decisions that impact individuals without transparency or legal mechanisms that allow data subjects to sue or request explanations. Compared to the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which has set transparency and accountability of AI systems laws, the PDP Law has yet to adopt concepts such as Explainable AI (XAI), which ensures that AI decisions can be understood by humans. Therefore, this study highlights the urgency of strengthening personal data protection regulations that cover the use of AI by referring to global practices to create a balance between technological innovation and the protection of individual rights.
