Jurnal Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (Abdimas) merupakan jurnal peer review yang diterbitkan oleh Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian Masyarakat (LPPM) Institut Teknologi dan Bisnis (ITB) Semarang. Jurnal Abdimas diterbitkan dua kali dalam setahun pada bulan Februari dan Agustus. Jurnal ini memberikan akses terbuka langsung ke isinya dengan prinsip bahwa membuat penelitian tersedia secara bebas untuk publik mendukung pertukaran pengetahuan global yang lebih besar dalam lingkup bidang pengabdian kepada masyarakat. Jurnal ini bertujuan untuk menyediakan tempat bagi akademisi, peneliti, dan praktisi untuk menerbitkan artikel penelitian asli atau artikel ulasan. Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance the competitiveness of local MSMEs through branding strategies and the use of social media. In the digital era, MSME actors face challenges in building brand identity and utilizing social media as a marketing tool. This activity is carried out through training and mentoring for partner MSMEs in the assisted areas. The evaluation results show an increase in business actors' understanding of branding as well as an increase in promotional activities through social media platforms. This program makes a tangible contribution to supporting the digital transformation of MSMEs.

Abstract

Mosques do not only function as places of worship, but also have great potential as centers for the economic empowerment of the community. This service discusses the strategic role of mosques in building a creative economy based on Sharia values. Sharia creative economy prioritizes innovation, halal compliance, and blessings in the production and distribution processes of goods and services. The mosque environment, rich in values of brotherhood and collective spirit, becomes an ideal ecosystem for fostering community-based economic activities, such as sharia cooperatives, halal entrepreneurship training, and sharia MSME product bazaars. This service uses a qualitative approach with case studies in several active mosques in Central Java, but more specifically on the administrators, congregants, and the community around the Baiturrahman Gendong Grand Mosque RT. 05 RW. 05 Mangunharjo Tembalang, Semarang City. The study results show that the synergy between mosque management, the community, and Islamic financial institutions can create an inclusive and sustainable microeconomic system. By harnessing the potential of mosques, Muslims can build economic independence that not only has financial impacts but also spiritual and social ones.

Abstract

This Community Service activity was driven by the low adoption of digital marketing strategies among palm sugar-producing MSMEs in Branjang Village, Semarang Regency, Central Java. These MSMEs still rely on conventional marketing methods and have not fully utilized digital tools to communicate product value. The main goal of this program was to enhance the capacity of MSME actors to create emotionally and culturally relevant digital content using quotes. The method applied was a community-based participatory educational approach, starting from needs assessment to contextual quote creation training. The results showed that the quote-based strategy successfully increased awareness among MSME actors about the importance of emotional narratives in building product identity and consumer engagement. Significant shifts were observed in participants’ perceptions of social media, new initiatives to document production processes emerged, and meaningful quotes were developed reflecting the uniqueness and cultural values of local palm sugar. This approach was found to be effective, simple, and inclusive, bridging technical limitations with strong local potential.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Kaliwungu District often face financial management challenges, including limited knowledge in basic bookkeeping and financial statement preparation. This study aims to enhance the financial literacy and management skills of MSME actors in Kaliwungu District through comprehensive training. The method involved three stages: preparation (licensing, media, and material preparation), implementation (lectures, tutorials, and discussions), and evaluation. The training, held on May 15, 2024, was attended by 43 MSME participants from Forkom UMKM Kaliwungu. The results showed a significant increase in participants' knowledge and understanding of financial statements, evidenced by active participation in discussions and practical exercises. Post-training evaluation indicated that 53% of participants understood the material well, and 33% understood it very well. The training methods were also positively received (45% strongly agreed, 40% agreed). This program successfully empowered MSME actors to prepare financial reports, contributing to better financial management and supporting the sustainable economic development of MSMEs in Kaliwungu.

Abstract

This Community Service Program (PkM) aims to introduce the fundamentals and practices of stock trading to university students in Semarang Barat District. The program was conducted in collaboration with the Indonesia Stock Exchange Representative Office of Central Java 1. The methods included educational sessions, stock trading simulations, and interactive discussions. The results indicate an increased understanding among students regarding capital market mechanisms, investment instruments, and potential risks in stock trading. Furthermore, the program encouraged a mindset shift: students who initially perceived stocks as complex and high-risk instruments came to recognize the capital market as a transparent, legal, and accessible investment avenue. Theoretically, this activity aligns with literature highlighting the critical role of financial literacy and capital market education in shaping young investors’ behavior.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to examine the implementation of Customer Experience Management (CEM) at PT Yakult Indonesia Persada through the role of Yakult Ladies and the direct selling system in fostering customer loyalty. Field observations were conducted at the Yakult distribution center in Mojokerto. The results indicate that the Yakult Lady program not only serves as a product distribution system but also strengthens emotional connections with consumers through personal interaction. The direct selling system also proves effective in maintaining distribution efficiency and product quality. Both strategies significantly contribute to enhancing customer trust, repeat purchases, and brand loyalty. Recommendations include strengthening the capacity of Yakult Ladies through training, utilizing digital technology for customer data management, and expanding distribution coverage to rural areas. This activity provides practical benefits for the development of customer experience–based marketing strategies and the improvement of service quality in the community.

Abstract

Panglipuran Traditional Village in Bangli, Bali, is a cultural tourism destination with significant economic potential through the development of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). However, MSME actors face challenges in terms of limited leadership capacity to manage their businesses sustainably. This community engagement program aims to strengthen the leadership capacity of MSME actors through the implementation of mentoring and coaching programs. The methods included an initial needs assessment, mentoring sessions facilitated by experienced practitioners, and individual coaching to enhance leadership skills, decision-making, and business management. The results showed improvements in participants’ understanding of adaptive leadership concepts, communication skills, and team management. Furthermore, participants were able to formulate simple business strategies aligned with local potential. Thus, mentoring and coaching programs proved to contribute significantly to strengthening the leadership capacity of MSMEs in Panglipuran Traditional Village, serving as a foundation for business sustainability and increasing competitiveness in culture-based tourism.
