Jurnal Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (Abdimas) merupakan jurnal peer review yang diterbitkan oleh Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian Masyarakat (LPPM) Institut Teknologi dan Bisnis (ITB) Semarang. Jurnal Abdimas diterbitkan dua kali dalam setahun pada bulan Februari dan Agustus. Jurnal ini memberikan akses terbuka langsung ke isinya dengan prinsip bahwa membuat penelitian tersedia secara bebas untuk publik mendukung pertukaran pengetahuan global yang lebih besar dalam lingkup bidang pengabdian kepada masyarakat. Jurnal ini bertujuan untuk menyediakan tempat bagi akademisi, peneliti, dan praktisi untuk menerbitkan artikel penelitian asli atau artikel ulasan. Ruang lingkup artikel yang diterbitkan dalam jurnal ini berkaitan dengan berbagai topik di bidang hasil luaran dari kegiatan pengadian kepada masyarakat.

Abstract

Tujuan pelaksanaan Pengabdian ini adalah untuk membantu UMKM gula aren di Desa Margosari agar memiliki lambang atau logo dalam meningkatkan identitas merek dengan sebuah pelatihan. Dengan demikian, logo UMKM ini akan memungkinkan masyarakat untuk mengenal produk mereka dengan lebih baik, dan baik dalam pemasaran tradisional maupun dalam pemasaran digital. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) pada Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM) Gula Aren dilaksanakan di kediaman tokoh pengrajin gula aren. Cara yang digunakan pada program PkM ini dengan penyuluhan interaktif dimulai dengan penyampaian materi menyesuaikan kemampuan pemahaman peserta dan dilanjutkan dengan materi tanya jawab mengenai strategi pemasaran digital. Evaluasi dilakukan sebagai tahap akhir pengadian untuk memperoleh pemahaman tentang sejauh mana peserta mampu memahami materi yang disampaikan, baik itu materi paparan maupun materi tanyajawab. Lalu dilanjut dengan pelatihan pembuatan logo. Pelatihan sering dianggap sebagai aktivitas yang paling umum dan para pimpinan mendukung adanya pelatihan karena melalui pelatihan, para pekerja akan menjadi lebih trampil dan karenanya akan lebih produktif. Kegiatan ini mendapatkan apresiasi yang baik dari pelaku pelaku UMKM gula aren Desa Margosari Kecamatan Limbangan Kabupaten Kendal. Dengan mengikuti kegiatan tersebut pelaku UMKM gula aren Desa Margosari mendapatkan pengetahuan tambahan tentang penggunakan logo untuk pemasaran. Pelaku UMKM menilai bahwa kegiatan ini sangat bermanfaat dan harapannya dapat berkesinambungan agar dalam menjalankan usaha lebih tertata dan terstruktur. Perkembangan usaha lebih meningkat serta berdampak pada pendapatan laba yang meningkat.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the readability level of the provisions and privacy policies on the WhatsApp application aimed at teenagers. Teenagers are active users of technology, including instant messaging applications such as WhatsApp, but their understanding of privacy policies is often limited. This research uses a quantitative method using the Flesch-Kincaid readability analysis tool to evaluate the level of difficulty in understanding the WhatsApp privacy policy document. The sample for this study consisted of teenagers in the age range 18 - 22 years. It is hoped that the research results will provide a better understanding of how easy or difficult it is for teenagers to understand WhatsApp's privacy terms and policies, as well as the implications for their privacy and data security. It is hoped that these results can contribute to efforts to increase teenagers' awareness and understanding of the importance of data privacy in using instant messaging applications.

Abstract

Maraknya kemunculan desa wisata pada satu dasawarsa terakhir menjadi potensi besar dalam pengembangan pariwisata. Desa Candirejo merupakan Desa Wisata yang terletak di Kabupaten Magelang, sejak tahun 2003 yang memiliki 3 macam wisata, yaitu wisata budaya, agrowisata, dan wisata alam. Pada Kegaitan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat. Dalam upaya pengembangan wisata di Desa Candirejo, maka perlu memanfaatkan peta wisata yang mengambarkan secara visual destinasi wisata di Desa Candirejo. Program kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat adalah pembuatan diagram alur wisata dan sosialisasi pemanfaatan peta wisata dalam upaya meningkatkan potensi wisata daerah. Pembuatan Peta dilakukan dengan bantuan aplikasi QGIS dan Google Maps. Dengan adanya Peta Wisata diharapkan dapat menjadi sarana bagi para wisatawan untuk dapat melaksanakannya secara efektif.

Abstract

In general, home industries face similar problems, such as soybean sago tempeh craftsmen, cracker and various chip craftsmen in the city of Semarang. Problems faced include low production volumes, high operational costs. Currently, cracker and chip craftsmen still use simple tools, so production is less than optimal. Apart from that, there is the problem of difficulty in accessing financial resources and expensive slicing machines. The aim of this service program is to provide training to increase the quantity and quality of chip and cracker production. The stages of this service program include needs analysis, design, assistance and implementation, and evaluation. The targeted chip and cracker craftsmen were given training. The result of this activity is to increase the production of chips and crackers both in terms of product quantity and quality. Another result is that craftsmen can calculate the cost of purchasing a slicing machine.

Abstract

Wedding gifts in the form of various women's necessities are usually given by the groom to the bride on the night before the wedding. These gifts are generally formed and decorated in such a way that they are aesthetic and unique. This wedding gift making service can be done at home as an activity that can increase income. This wedding gift making training is carried out by practicing directly with local comunity in Bandungrejo Village, Mranggen District by bringing in trainers who have this expertise. The purpose of this training is to stimulate creativity and innovation in order to produce attractive gifts that are in demand by the community and ultimately generate additional income.

Abstract

Used newspapers are one type of waste commonly found in household and office environments. If not managed properly, this waste can increase the burden of environmental pollution. To address this issue, a creative and innovative approach is needed through recycling activities that can transform used newspapers into useful and economical products, such as baskets, photo frames, and various household accessories. In addition to contributing to waste management, this activity also has the potential to create environmentally friendly business opportunities. Thus, the development of recycling skills for used newspapers can empower the community to be more environmentally conscious and improve economic welfare sustainably.

Abstract

Abstract: Waste has become a serious threat to environmental sustainability and a contributing factor to global warming. Waste banks are a strategic solution to reduce the impact of waste generation by implementing the 3R principle (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle). This community service activity aims to improve the administrative and financial management capabilities of the "Sami Berkah" Waste Bank, located in Desa Meteseh, Kecamatan Tembalang, Kota Semarang. The implementation method included lectures, mentoring, and hands-on practice in filling out administrative books, including the Member Registration Book, Waste Bank Savings Book, Member List, Financial Ledger, Member Deposit Summary Book, and Attendance List. The activity results showed that Waste Bank administrators and members were able to follow and carry out the administrative book filling process effectively through simulations of new member registration and waste deposits. Proper bookkeeping administration has been proven to optimize waste management and increase operational effectiveness. However, there are still limitations in terms of digital information access for customers and the preparation of comprehensive financial reports. This activity makes a significant contribution to increasing transparency and accountability in Waste Bank management as a business unit that manages waste for the community. Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance the competitiveness of local MSMEs through branding strategies and the use of social media. In the digital era, MSME actors face challenges in building brand identity and utilizing social media as a marketing tool. This activity is carried out through training and mentoring for partner MSMEs in the assisted areas. The evaluation results show an increase in business actors' understanding of branding as well as an increase in promotional activities through social media platforms. This program makes a tangible contribution to supporting the digital transformation of MSMEs.

Abstract

Mosques do not only function as places of worship, but also have great potential as centers for the economic empowerment of the community. This service discusses the strategic role of mosques in building a creative economy based on Sharia values. Sharia creative economy prioritizes innovation, halal compliance, and blessings in the production and distribution processes of goods and services. The mosque environment, rich in values of brotherhood and collective spirit, becomes an ideal ecosystem for fostering community-based economic activities, such as sharia cooperatives, halal entrepreneurship training, and sharia MSME product bazaars. This service uses a qualitative approach with case studies in several active mosques in Central Java, but more specifically on the administrators, congregants, and the community around the Baiturrahman Gendong Grand Mosque RT. 05 RW. 05 Mangunharjo Tembalang, Semarang City. The study results show that the synergy between mosque management, the community, and Islamic financial institutions can create an inclusive and sustainable microeconomic system. By harnessing the potential of mosques, Muslims can build economic independence that not only has financial impacts but also spiritual and social ones.

Abstract

This Community Service activity was driven by the low adoption of digital marketing strategies among palm sugar-producing MSMEs in Branjang Village, Semarang Regency, Central Java. These MSMEs still rely on conventional marketing methods and have not fully utilized digital tools to communicate product value. The main goal of this program was to enhance the capacity of MSME actors to create emotionally and culturally relevant digital content using quotes. The method applied was a community-based participatory educational approach, starting from needs assessment to contextual quote creation training. The results showed that the quote-based strategy successfully increased awareness among MSME actors about the importance of emotional narratives in building product identity and consumer engagement. Significant shifts were observed in participants’ perceptions of social media, new initiatives to document production processes emerged, and meaningful quotes were developed reflecting the uniqueness and cultural values of local palm sugar. This approach was found to be effective, simple, and inclusive, bridging technical limitations with strong local potential.
