Abstract

Inflammation, bleeding, swelling, pain, dry socket are common complications of tooth extraction. The inflammatory response is divided into two, including the administration of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and steroid anti-inflammatory drugs. Every use of chemical drugs has side effects. Herbal ingredients are needed, namely avocado seeds as an alternative treatment in preventing inflammation in wounds after tooth extraction. Avocado seeds contain polyphenols that play a role in inflammation in wounds, including flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, and saponins. Experiment with randomized posttest design with control group design. Consisting of intervention group nano gel avocado seed extract 10%, positive control group povidone iodine 10% and aquadest. Observations were made for 7 days. The variables studied were inflammation of the wound after tooth extraction of rats and histopathological examination (Lymphocytes, Neocapillary and Fibroblasts). Based on the results of the unpaired test, the avocado and povidone groups were not significantly different (p=0.143), the avocado and aquadest groups had a significant difference (p=0.001) and the povidone and aquadest groups had a significant difference (p =0.015). The administration of nano gel of avocado seed extract with a concentration of 10% and 10% povidone iodine has the same ability in the process of wound regeneration and increases new blood vessels and can also reduce the number of lymphocyte inflammatory cells as evidenced by histological examination . The administration of nano gel of avocado seed extract is effective and can be applied as an alternative to prevent inflammation in wounds after tooth extraction in white rats.

Abstract

The development of manpower aimed at addressing the prevailing and future needs of a given society is a good reason for designing and structuring collaboration between universities and industries. Using a qualitative research design, this article explored the university-industry collaboration for manpower planning and the challenges of economic development in Nigeria. It looked at the concept of university education as a private and social investment that has a limitless rate of returns to both the individual recipient and the society.  It also discussed the relationship between economic development and manpower development planning and highlighted that economic development which is a deliberate process of sustained quality improvement of the people requires proper planning, at the center of which is manpower development planning. Furthermore, the critical roles universities and industries in Nigeria have to play in producing the skills needed for industries and national development were also examined. These roles include producing high-level and middle level manpower in order to address socio-economic challenges, boosting the acquisition of skills to tackle the mismatch between skills of the available workforce and job vacancies, and championing ideas and innovations to facilitate access to new markets. The article suggested a number of strategic approaches to foster a stronger collaboration of universities with industry. These strategies include among others an establishment of a consultative process where the voice of relevant business managers is given adequate consideration in curriculum development in order to ensure that the academic programs of universities are tailored to the needs of the industries.

Abstract

The objective of this investigation was to examine the consequences of the project integration management process on success of project in west guji zone road construction. This research employed descriptive and explanatory research design with quantitative and qualitative research approach. Both probability and non-probability sampling techniques were applied to select a sample of 250 respondents. From probability sampling stratified sampling and simple random were used to categorize heterogeneous people into strata. Also purposive sampling was used from non-probability. The primary data were collected through well-organized questionnaires. Data was analyzed using both descriptive and inferential analysis. Descriptive data was expressed by average, mean and standard deviation. Inferential data were analyzed by regression, association with the aid of statistical tool SPSS version 20. The finding of the investigation indicates that project initiation, project planning, and project closure have positive and significant consequence on project success. However, project execution, project monitor and controlling have positive and insignificant consequence. The researcher suggests that Dudgadewa and Melka soda districts have to give first for project initiation, project planning, and project closure to improve the success of road construction. Furthermore, other researchers have to conduct investigation by taking project execution and controlling in west guji zone.
