Abstract

Yaws is a tropical skin disease that can cause serious complications if left untreated. The border area between Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, especially in the Muara Tami district, Jayapura, Papua, is one of the endemic areas for yaws with limited access to health services. This community service activity aims to conduct early detection of yaws in children in the area using the rapid diagnostic test (RDT) method. The activity was carried out at the Moso Village Health Center, Muara Tami district. Samples were taken purposively, with the inclusion criteria being children under 15 years of age who live in Moso village. Yaws examination using RDT was carried out on 17 children, followed by treatment for those who tested positive. There were 4 positive cases of yaws or 23.52% detected from 17 participants who had received RDT examination. In addition, the achievement of this activity has educated parents of yaws screening participants about the symptoms and prevention of yaws so that it can increase the capacity of the local health system and public awareness in efforts to eliminate yaws. The prevalence of yaws in the border area is still quite high. The use of RDT has proven effective for the detection and monitoring of yaws, although there are still challenges in ensuring compliance and completion of treatment. Long-term monitoring is needed to evaluate the effectiveness of the intervention comprehensively.

Abstract

The batik-making training, which combines stamping and brush techniques held in Girilayu, Matesih, Karanganyar, aims to enhance the skills of the Giriarum batik group members. As a center for traditional hand-drawn batik, Girilayu has significant potential to expand the variety of batik products it offers. In this training, participants are taught how to blend traditional hand-drawn batik techniques with modern methods such as stamping and brushing. The goal is for participants to create batik curtains that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also highly marketable. In addition to technical training, the training emphasizes the importance of business development aspects, including the selection of high-quality raw materials, the creation of innovative product designs, and the implementation of effective marketing strategies to enhance product competitiveness. With this knowledge, participants are expected to become more self-reliant and capable of expanding their batik market.

Abstract

Human resources play a vital role and serve as the key factor in any organization or company. Regardless of the organization's or company's objectives, their implementation and management ultimately depend on human effort. If employee performance does not align with the company's goals, it can result in a decline in overall organizational performance. To address this issue, an analysis of the recruitment and selection system employed by the company is necessary. The methods used to gather data include interviews and observations. The outcome of this practical work is the development of material on effective recruitment and selection processes, followed by an analysis of the recruitment and selection procedures currently implemented by the company.

Abstract

The process of recruitment and selection is an important procedure in an effort to attract qualified candidates who meet the job qualifications of a company. This practical work activity aims to analyze the challenges faced by PT Angkasa Indo Jaya as a manpower supply company, when they are getting large projects from their clients. The result of the observation found that PT Angkasa Indo Jaya tends to still have applicants who do not meet the job qualification requirements. In an effort to attract extra manpower capable of contributing to several departments of the company, the outputs of the activity that have been designed include a recruitment and selection strategy flowchart, job description, and candidate evaluation form. The implementation of the activity’s outcomes on PT Angkasa Indo Jaya has succeeded in facilitating the work of the Human Resources (HR) department in the process of recruiting and selecting prospective employees who have met the qualification requirements.

Abstract

This community service activity was carried out in Tumuk Manggis Village, Sambas Regency, from September to October 2024, with the aim of introducing a new superfood-based food product, namely keke noodles, as the village's superior product. This product utilizes taro and moringa leaves, which are known to have high nutritional content. This training involved the local community in the noodle-making process, which includes the stages of preparing ingredients, processing the dough, forming noodles, and boiling. The main ingredients used are steamed and mashed taro, blended moringa leaves, as well as wheat flour, eggs, vegetable oil, and simple spices. The noodle-making process is carried out practically and simply, so that people can easily practice it at home. The final result of this training is taro and moringa leaf noodles that can be modified into various dishes. This training is expected to be able to increase the economic potential of the village by developing local products that are highly nutritious and have sales value. The superfood keke noodle product is expected to be an alternative healthy food that can compete in the market, while improving the welfare of the people of Tumuk Manggis Village. This collaboration also emphasizes the importance of utilizing abundant local food ingredients as an innovation for superior products. This activity ended with gratitude to the Tumuk Manggis Village government for its support and collaboration in implementing this training.

Abstract

Siamese oranges are part of the abundant agricultural products in Sambas Regency. Siamese orange farming is able to become the main supplier for West Kalimantan, but during post-harvest the condition of Siamese oranges is uncontrolled, causing an unstoppable abundance in the market and causing a decrease in the price of Siamese oranges. The purpose of this community service is to provide training in processing Siamese oranges in Mensere Village, Sambas Regency. The approach method used is the provision of materials, modules, direct technical processing and discussion sessions. The results obtained from the activity were that the participants were happy with this training, besides that each participant could enjoy the processing process that had been practiced directly during the training and commented positively on the training that had been given. Training in processing drinks with Siamese oranges as raw materials is expected to foster skills and foster an entrepreneurial spirit in processing Siamese oranges. Another impact is to provide reinforcement of information on the condition of Siamese oranges, in addition to helping to increase creativity in overcoming the growth rate of Siamese oranges which during post-harvest cannot be stopped by the market.

Abstract

Abstract

Pondok Ciung, a restaurant that has just opened a branch at King Business Centre (KBC) in Batam, is facing several operational challenges, especially in terms of human resource management. The problems that arise include inappropriate recruitment and lateness of employees in starting operational hours. Therefore, this program aims to help recruit and select new employees, analyze employee performance, implementation of new work rules, and prevent further decline in performance and lateness of employees. The output of this activity is a draft SOP. The methods used in this program include interviews, observations, and documentation. The expected results of this activity are increased recruitment quality and employee discipline, which will ultimately increase productivity and operational success of the restaurant.

Abstract

Perfume is a combination of essential oils and aromatic compounds used to impart a fragrant scent to the body, objects or a room. The use of perfume has a long history, dating back thousands of years, and was used by ancient civilizations in Egypt, Mesopotamia, and Greece as part of religious rituals and daily activities. This Community Service aims to introduce products made from natural ingredients to PKK mothers in Cihideung Village. This activity is expected to increase community knowledge about the utilization of natural materials and improve the economy through perfume production. A total of 20 PKK mothers from Cihideung Village participated in this activity. This service method was carried out through a field survey, followed by counseling which included lectures, discussions and question and answer sessions. In addition, the handover of “Raelda Perfume Products” was also carried out. It is hoped that the results of this activity can help participants in making perfumes and other natural-based products. The evaluation showed that this activity was useful and in accordance with the needs of the community.

Abstract

The people of the village are on average engaged as vegetable farmers, in some areas they are also salak fruit farmers. MSMEs in the community certainly still use the traditional sale of vegetables and fruits to the city center or traditional markets. able to fill community activities to increase independent income or village apparatus.Salak fruit can be very helpful when farmers cannot maximize land when planting vegetables due to climatic factors. Salak fruit can be sold to souvenir traders and traders along the old village road. Vegetable dumplings in the form of wartels and spinach are maximized from vegetable processing, processed products in the form of 'Healthy snack dumplings'. The research method uses qualitative and collects all information with other journals. The community is expected to apply this knowledge regularly, provide activities to the community and to youth-I to take advantage of digitalization by making healthy snacks from vegetables to being able to sell products through social media or digital.
