Abstract

Nutritional anemia is the most common public health problem, which can lead to a decrease in human quality. The needs of pregnant women for iron, in addition to covering basal losses, also for the need for the formation of red blood cells that increase in number, and also for the needs of the placenta and fetus in the womb. To prevent anemia on an ongoing basis, it is cheap and affordable. The alternative is to consume enough green vegetables, beans, grains and fruits, so that the food consumed is quite diverse, both in quantity and in quality. It is hoped that with the Community Service at an advanced stage (Guidance) by the lecturer of the D III Nutrition Study Program in the working area of the Gandus Health Center, a truly useful and educative way to prevent anemia is to provide nutrition education through demonstrations of processing food with basic ingredients of cassava, tempeh and green vegetables. The results of the implementation of Community Service at an advanced stage (Guidance) by Lecturers of the D III Nutrition Study Program, it was found that an increase in the Hb level of anemic pregnant women, which previously had an average Hb level of < 8.8 mg/dl after coaching, increased by 11.6 mg /dl and furthermore, from the results of the cooking demo, 2 types of dishes made from local ingredients are presented in the form of healthy porridge and Tempe Nagget.

Abstract

One level of education that contributes to the workforce is vocational high school (SMK). Pharmacy Vocational School graduates do not have adequate skills and abilities in administrative management in pharmacies so that results are still not good. The impact is that graduates of Pharmacy Vocational Schools are generally not ready to work in the world of work, they need an internship first to get used to working in a pharmacy. The Department of Pharmacy, Poltekkes Palembang, as a partner institution that APMFI has always asked for as examiners at the UPK of Pharmacy Vocational Schools in South Sumatra, has improved the basic knowledge and skills of zero-year Pharmacy Vocational School graduates in the city of Palembang in pharmaceutical services at pharmacies so that they become more ready to use, through training activities in the form of theoretical presentation accompanied by individual practice and group service simulations. The pretest results of the training participants with an average point of 7.91 showed that only about 50% of the material they knew and from the posttest results obtained an average of 10.67, which is about 70% of the material. The lowest score from 4 increased to 7 and the highest score increased from 12 (1 person) to 14 (3 person). From the statistical test of paired t-test (p<0.05) it was found that the results of the pretest-posttest showed a significant change. The conclusion of community service from the Department of Pharmacy with the theme of Increasing Basic Knowledge and Skills in Pharmaceutical Services at Pharmacies for Graduates of the Zero Year Pharmacy Vocational School in Palembang City shows positive and beneficial results for its targets. In addition, this activity has also been able to introduce the Department of Pharmacy to Pharmacy Vocational School graduates so that it is expected to increase the interest of Sipenmaru Poltekkes Palembang participants in 2016 in general and in particular the Department of Pharmacy.

Abstract

Health is a basic need for humans in general, one of the problems of Indonesian society both in rural and urban areas with inadequate hygiene and sanitation conditions is helminth infection. Worms are still a major health and economic problem in society, especially in people who do not keep themselves clean. It is estimated that around the world there are still as many as 300 million cases of helminthiasis, either single infestation or mixed infestation of worms. According to Gordon and Le Richt (1950) the emergence of a disease as stated by is largely determined by three main factors, namely the host (host), the cause of the disease (agent), and the environment (environment). that factor. If the main cause has been found, continue with efforts to overcome the cause in question, which in this case is to provide and organize health education efforts.

Abstract

Breakfast or breakfast provides an important meaning for everyone to start the activity throughout the day. This activity is carried out until nine in the morning. Breakfast should be able to meet 15% to 30% of the total daily nutritional needs. Breakfast is expected to be able to realize a healthy, active and intelligent life (Hardinsyah, 2013). School-age children require good and sufficient intake of nutrients for activities, especially during breakfast (Susyani et al., 2014). In addition to adequate and balanced nutritional content, menu choices must be practical and varied from various types of food ingredients (Ministry of Health, 2013). Breakfast is beneficial for good school attendance, nutrient intake, academic achievement, fitness and a healthy weight (Hardinsyah; Perdana, 2013). Meanwhile, the impact of not eating breakfast on children has been shown to have an effect on academic achievement at school (Muchtar et al., 2011). There are various reasons why children skip breakfast, namely, long distance to school, late getting up in the morning, not in taste, not used to or afraid of being late for school (Mardiana, et al, 2013; Irianto in Ristiana, 2009). The habit of not eating breakfast results in a decrease in blood sugar levels (hypoglycemia) so that the energy supply decreases, if this happens continuously it causes the body to tremble, get tired quickly and decrease motivation to learn (Wardoyo; Mahmudiono, 2013). According to Hardinsyah (2012) in Briawan, et al (2013), it is recorded that 20%-40% of Indonesian children do not eat breakfast every day. Hardinsyah and Aries (2012), stated that 44.6% of school-age children consume low-quality breakfast, which is below 15% of the daily nutritional adequacy. Lack of knowledge about the importance of eating breakfast in children is one of the factors that cause children to ignore breakfast (Notoatmodjo, 2012). Nutrition education needs to be given in order to achieve health behavior (Healthy Behavior). Based on the above background, it is necessary to provide counseling and examples of providing breakfast for school children.

Abstract

Malnutrition is a major problem in the world that does not only occur in developing countries but also in developed countries (Freeman L). More than 3.5 million mothers and children under five every year are caused by malnutrition, and millions more experience permanent physical and mental disabilities as a result of lack of food intake in early life (Lancet, 2011). Based on the 2013 Riskesdas data, the prevalence of undernutrition was 12.1% in 2013. In the province of South Sumatra in 2013 the prevalence of undernutrition in children under five was 12.1% (Ministry of Health, 2014). In children under five with malnutrition, efforts need to be made so that they do not become malnourished and even increase their nutritional status. The effort that needs to be done is by providing additional food (PMT) for recovery (Kemenkes RI, 2011). PMT Recovery is intended as an addition, not as a substitute for the main daily meal. The PMT is based on local food ingredients with regional specialties adapted to local conditions (Directorate General of Nutrition and Maternal and Child Health, Ministry of Health, RI, 2012). This community service aims to improve the nutritional status of toddlers in the work area of the Multiwahana Palembang Health Center by conducting counseling and distributing leaflets/posters about the Provision of Supplementary Foods (PMT) to toddlers to mothers who have babies and toddlers in the work area of the Palembang Multiwahana Health Center. During the outreach activities, the community was very enthusiastic about listening and asking questions about good eating for infants and toddlers. This community service is expected to increase the knowledge and skills of the community in improving the nutritional status of toddlers by providing additional food according to the age of infants and toddlers.

Abstract

Setelah diberikan edukasi, terdapat perubahan prilaku petugas sekalipun belum seluruhnya.

Abstract

Abstract

Coronary Heart Disease (CHD) or cardiovascular disease is currently one of the main and first causes of death in developed and developing countries, including Indonesia. By 2010, globally this disease will be the leading cause of death in developing countries, replacing deaths from infection. It is estimated that worldwide, CHD in 2020 will be the most common first killer, accounting for 36% of all deaths, this figure is twice as high as the death rate from cancer. In Indonesia, it is reported that CHD (which is grouped into diseases of the circulatory system) is the main and first cause of all deaths, which is 26.4%, this figure is four times higher than the death rate caused by cancer (6%). In other words, approximately one in four people who die in Indonesia is due to CHD. Various risk factors have an important role in the emergence of CHD, ranging from aspects of metabolism, hemostasis, immunology, infection, and many other interrelated factors. Coronary heart disease is a condition due to narrowing, blockage or abnormalities of the coronary arteries. Coronary heart disease is caused by narrowing or blockage of coronary arteries. This narrowing or blockage can stop blood flow to the heart muscle which is often characterized by pain (Yenrina, Krisnatuti, 1999). Coronary heart disease is heart disease due to abnormalities in the coronary vessels, namely the arteries that deliver blood to the aorta to the tissue that protects the heart cavities (Kartohoesodo, 1982). Coronary heart disease (CHD) is currently one of the main causes of death in developed and developing countries (Ministry of Health, 2006). Combined data from Clientman et al and GUSTO-I showed that the mortality rate in the first 30 days of hospitalization for patients with AMI was 52% before admission, 19% within 24 hours of hospitalization, 8% during 48 hours of hospitalization, and 21% after 30 days. . Globally, of the 55 million deaths in a year, 30% are caused by cardiovascular disease, of which almost 50% are due to AMI attacks (Yusuf, S et al 2001). (USU.ac.id)
