Abstract

This study examines the role of teachers in preventing bullying at RA Al-Muslimun, Bandung, focusing on strategies, challenges, and supporting factors in early childhood education. Bullying, often addressed seriously in higher educational levels, is still perceived as normal behavior in kindergartens. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving the principal and four teachers. Findings reveal that teachers act as role models, teaching good morals daily through structured activities such as moral recitations, storytelling, and songs highlighting exemplary behaviors. The forms of bullying identified include physical (hitting, kicking) and verbal (insults, ridicule). Challenges include inconsistent parenting styles, environmental influences, peer interactions, and the impact of social media. Supporting factors involve teacher competence, principal support, and collaborative teamwork among educators. The study concludes that effective bullying prevention in early childhood requires strong cooperation between teachers, parents, and schools, coupled with ongoing teacher training to enhance awareness and intervention skills.

Abstract

The findings indicate that anxiety is closely related to the psychological impact of bullying. Children reported feelings of fear, anxiety, and low self-esteem that disrupted their daily lives. In addition, social support from peers and family proved to be important in reducing their anxiety levels. This study also identified factors that influence anxiety levels, such as the frequency and type of bullying experienced. Children who experience physical bullying tend to show higher levels of anxiety than those who experience verbal bullying. This emphasises the need for appropriate intervention to address this issue. Based on the results of this study, it is recommended that schools and parents raise awareness about the importance of a safe and supportive environment for children and implement bullying prevention programmes to support children's mental health. Thus, it is hoped that children can grow up better and reduce the negative impact of bullying. Overall, this study provides a clear picture of the anxiety experienced by children who are victims of bullying and the importance of appropriate handling to minimise the negative impacts caused. These findings are expected to serve as a reference for those involved in child protection and the development of effective policies

Abstract

Early childhood is a crucial stage for children's growth and development. Through play, various aspects cognitive, social-emotional, physical-motor, language, moral, and spiritual develop significantly. Appropriate stimulation and attention can positively influence these developments. This study aims to explore the implementation of play-based methods to improve children's learning concentration at TKIP Ummul Mukminin, Katapang District, Bandung Regency. Employing a qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews and direct field observations. The research focuses on how the play method is applied, along with its strengths and limitations in enhancing concentration. The findings reveal that children's concentration levels vary according to individual characteristics. However, after implementing the play method, most children showed improved concentration during learning activities. The establishment of classroom agreements and rules also contributed to a more conducive learning environment. Strengths observed include increased curiosity and enthusiasm, leading to optimal learning outcomes. On the other hand, challenges remain, such as classroom layout issues (minimal partitions causing distractions) and inconsistent parental discipline at home, which hinders the reinforcement of structured behavior in school

Abstract

The study's primary aim was to explore the practitioner's views on the support parents provide for their children's learning in a mobile ECCE context to promote quality service delivery. The study was theoretically anchored by Epstein's overlapping spheres of influence theory. The researchers adopted the interpretive research paradigm combined with phenomenological research design to make sense of practitioners' objectivity. Qualitative data was obtained from semi-structured in-depth interviews by selecting and engaging twenty conveniently sampled ECCE practitioners. By adhering to the interview guide, the researcher's focused on the study's objectives to elicit rich data. The collected data was analysed thermatically using the Atlas. ti software. Findings revealed that parents support practitioner's through their involvement in decision-making process, regular attendance at the meetings, and in the cleaning of mobile units. In addition, parental support was in the form of assisting children to learn at the mobile units, and with homeworks. Parents also provided support by participating in fundraising drives and donation. It was recommended that better parental support and increased stakeholder interest in children's early learning will result in children's enhanced  early cognitive development for future success.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Qur’an Tahfidz program using the Tasmi’ method in developing the Spiritual Quotient (SQ) of early childhood students at RA Al-Husna, Pameungpeuk Bandung. The focus of the research is to identify the significance of the Tahfidz program at an early age and to understand its management patterns. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection was carried out through interviews, observation, and documentation, and subsequently analyzed using qualitative descriptive techniques. The findings elaborate on the entire process of the Tahfidz program implementation, encompassing planning, execution, and evaluation, as well as identifying the supporting and inhibiting factors in the formation of spiritual intelligence. The Spiritual Quotient cultivated through this program includes the habit of praying (tauhid attitude and reliance on Allah), independence, responsibility, hard work, patience, respect, discipline, courage, and self-confidence. The internalization of these SQ values is facilitated through character habituation during memorization activities and through role modeling (uswah hasanah) provided by educators and parents.

Abstract

Prosocial behavior refers to children’s ability to help, cooperate, share, and demonstrate empathy toward others. As the primary educators in early childhood settings, teachers play a crucial role in fostering prosocial behavior through assertive communication. This study aims to examine the influence of teachers’ assertive attitudes on the development of prosocial behavior among early childhood learners in RA institutions in Bojongsoang District. The research employed a quantitative approach with an explanatory survey design. The study population consisted of 13 RA institutions with a total of 89 teachers, and a sample of 59 teachers was selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire that had been validated and tested for reliability. Data analysis was conducted using simple linear regression. The findings show that teachers’ assertive attitudes fall into the high category (TCR = 88.3%), as does children’s prosocial behavior (TCR = 93.5%). Regression analysis indicates a significant influence of teachers’ assertive attitudes on children’s prosocial behavior (F = 81.322; sig = 0.000). The coefficient of determination reveals that 69.6% of the variance in children’s prosocial behavior is explained by teachers’ assertive attitudes, indicating a strong contribution. These findings imply that assertive, empathetic, and child-respecting teacher communication practices must be strengthened in daily learning activities to enhance the quality of social interactions among young children.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of early childhood education (ECE) principals’ performance on teacher well-being and institutional development in Cangkuang Kulon Village, Dayeuhkolot District, Bandung Regency. The research employed a quantitative approach with a total sampling technique involving 54 teachers from 23 ECE institutions. The research instrument consisted of a Likert-scale questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis included validity testing, reliability testing, normality testing, and t-tests to examine the influence among variables. The results show that the performance of ECE principals in Cangkuang Kulon Village falls into the high category (74.1%). ECE teachers demonstrated a good level of well-being (64.8%), while the development of ECE institutions also fell into the high category (59.3%). However, the t-test results indicate that the principal’s performance does not have a significant effect on teacher well-being (sig. 0.322 > 0.05), but it does have a significant effect on the development of early childhood education (ECE) institutions (sig. 0.027 < 0.05). These findings suggest that improvements in principal performance primarily influence institutional aspects, such as the quality of learning services and the availability of facilities and infrastructure, but do not directly affect teacher well-being. This study underscores the importance of strengthening principals’ leadership capacity as a strategic factor in driving the advancement of ECE institutions.
