Abstract

Floating Net Cages based on the general explanation of article 1 number 29 of the Presidential Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia number 81 of 2014 concerning the Spatial Plan for the Lake Toba Area and its surroundings, namely a place for keeping fish floating on the surface of the water. Floating net cages are a place or container for keeping fish floating on the surface of the water such as reservoirs, lakes or seas. The impact of KJA cultivation on the environment in Haranggaol Subdistrict is reducing the environmental quality of lake waters because the remaining fish feed in the form of pellets settles at the bottom of the lake waters. In addition, there is a positive impact of KJA cultivation, namely the increasing economic needs of the community and can reduce unemployment in the region. The research method used in this study is descriptive qualitative method, with data collection techniques namely interviews; observation; and documentation studies. The purpose of this study is to determine the impact of floating net cage cultivation carried out in the Haranggaol Village in the Haranggaol Horison District.

Abstract

The oil palm plantation sector is one of the important sectors in the country's economy, making a significant contribution to national income and employment absorption. In recent years, the increase in palm oil production has led to an increase in the volume of palm oil waste produced in Indonesia. This large amount of waste creates a serious challenge in its management, because it can contaminate the environment, including groundwater and rivers, as well as threaten biodiversity. This research aims to analyze and identify how to use palm oil waste in Indonesia. This research was carried out using literature study techniques where data was taken from journals and articles that had gone through various screenings, one of which was screening by ensuring the linkage between the title and the reference of the article used as well as using the references from the appropriate journals. Results Palm oil waste has quite promising potential for utilization in various selectors such as developmental alternative energy sources and agricultural selectors. In alternative energy source selectors, namely one of them is biomass fuel which functions as an alternative for fuel for power generation and in agriculture selectors are commonly used as organic fertilizer ingredients. In the breeding selector it can be used as additional feed and additional nutrition for livestock. Conclusion: Based on the journals that have been studied, it is concluded that the utilization of palm oil waste in Langkat Regency is partly by turning the waste into compost for plants/plantation as well as turning palm oil waste into a product that has market value to increase the economic level of local people.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Oil palm plantation waste is waste that comes from plant residues left behind during the clearing of plantation areas, rejuvenation and harvesting of oil palm. This waste is classified into three types, namely solid, liquid, and gas waste. Empty palm fruit bunches (EFB) are one of the most common types of solid waste produced by palm oil mills. Liquid waste or better known as POME (Palm Oil Mill Effluent). POME is waste water produced by palm oil mills that comes from boiled condensate, hydrocyclomic water and sludge separator. This research method is a descriptive research with qualitative research methods. The aim of this research is to find out the palm oil processing system and the utilization of palm oil waste at PT. Nusantara Plantation IV Dolok Ilir Unit. The results of this research are that the processing of palm oil is divided into 6 stages, namely: starting from the weighbridge or weighing process, sorting the fruit, the process of boiling the fruit, the threshing process, and the process of refining the oil and the process of processing the seeds (nut). The conclusion of this study is that PTPN IV Dolok Ilir Unit has properly processed palm oil and can then utilize its liquid and solid waste.

Abstract

Within the caldera of a supervolcano in Indonesia, there is a large natural lake called Lake Toba. This is the largest lake in Southeast Asia. Although Lake Toba is touted by the President of the Republic of Indonesia as Asia's Monaco, its beauty is diminishing due to the rapid growth of water hyacinth. Agriculture and fisheries are the main source of income for local residents in Lake Toba. the main source of income for a family in agriculture, especially with the development of rice fields. The objective of the PKM was to assist the local community in converting Lake Toba water hyacinth into useful organic fertilizer. As a result, efforts were made to utilize this wild plant to make compost fertilizer that is full of benefits. The program consisted of three main activities, namely socialization, counseling, and practice of making compost fertilizer. The villagers who participated in the service activities were very active in participating during the activities, so that after participating in this activity, they had the knowledge and skills on how to make compost fertilizer from water hyacinth. Compost that has been physically decomposed is ready to be used as compost after 21 days, according to the technique of making compost using EM4 activator. At 21 days of observation, the treatment without EM4 bioactivator has not shown the physical characteristics of mature compost. It is expected that the community can make compost independently from water hyacinth which is widely available around the rice fields after this service project is completed. The compost can be sold to increase family income or used to meet fertilizer needs for farmers in their agricultural activities.

Abstract

The development of today's era looks more rapidly, the developing era is also accompanied by the development of technology, of course. Life in the modern era, which is full of sophistication, is indeed very helpful in facilitating all kinds of human activities. One of them is the media in communication, communication media can be understood as intermediaries or tools used in mass communication. Mass media can now accelerate its progress, such as television, cellphones, radio, and others. With this progress, the broad scope of human beings throughout the world now feels increasingly narrow because access to interaction is so easy. Not only that, broad information that previously could not be easily accepted by the public, is now able to be received quickly by the wider community. With the accelerated development of this mass media, it is certainly hoped that it will have a positive impact on the wider community in general, especially for students of the Faculty of Da'wah and Communication Studies who do have ties or correlation with the mass media, how can students make the best use of this situation.

Abstract

The impact of household waste can affect environmental pollution such as a decrease in water quality which will affect the health level of living things and the environment. This has been stated in the Government Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia Number 81 of 2012 concerning Management of Household Waste and Household-like Waste. In the processing of household waste or waste there are obstacles such as a lack of concern for the household environment itself, as well as a lack of landfills and a lack of strict law enforcement for violators, which creates obstacles for the community in managing household waste. There are several ways of planning and managing household waste, such as recycling, burning, sorting, composting and decomposing waste.
