Abstract

This study aims to analyze early childhood discipline through habituation practices implemented at PAUD Baitul Marhamah. Discipline is a crucial component of character development in early childhood, and habituation serves as an effective method to instill consistent behavioral patterns. However, variations in children’s developmental conditions, parental involvement, and teacher consistency contribute to different outcomes in the development of discipline. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method using interviews, observations, and documentation. The participants included three children from group B, two teachers, and three parents. Data were analyzed to describe the habituation processes and the development of children’s discipline across three indicators: time discipline, rule discipline, and attitude discipline. The findings indicate that children’s levels of discipline vary and are influenced by parental involvement, individual developmental conditions, and teacher modeling. SM demonstrated strong and stable discipline, while AG and AH required additional guidance, particularly AH, who experiences speech delay that affects his ability to follow rules and instructions. A structured school environment and consistent routines, such as lining up, greeting, and cleaning up, significantly support the formation of disciplined behavior. This study concludes that habituation is an effective strategy for fostering discipline in early childhood; however, its success depends on the collaboration between teachers and parents as well as the alignment of habituation methods with the developmental characteristics of each child

Abstract

This study aims to improve the fine motor skills of early childhood through the activity of playing bekel ball at TK IT Tahfidz Insan Madani. The background of this research is based on the low fine motor skills of children, as seen from the suboptimal coordination of eye and hand movements, finger flexibility, and dexterity in writing and playing activities. The method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) based on the Arikunto model, carried out in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects were 20 children aged 5-6 years at TK IT Tahfidz Insan Madani. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and children's development assessment sheets. The results showed a significant improvement in children’s fine motor skills after implementing the bekel ball game activity. In the pre-action stage, the percentage of children in the Very Well Developed (BSB) category was only 5%. After the first cycle, it increased to 35%, and in the second cycle, it reached 80%. The bekel ball game proved to be effective in enhancing eye-hand coordination, finger dexterity, and children's agility in carrying out fine motor activities. Thus, it can be concluded that the bekel ball game activity can be an effective and enjoyable alternative learning medium to improve the fine motor skills of early childhood at TK IT Tahfidz Insan Madani

Abstract

The digital era presents new challenges in parenting early childhood. Children are easily exposed to digital content that is not always appropriate, making the role of parents crucial in shaping positive behavior. This study aims to describe parental efforts in fostering positive behavior in early childhood during the digital era. The research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The subjects were parents of students at RA Assyukron. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation, and analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model. The results show that parents engage in active supervision, monitor media content, model good behavior, and instill moral values from an early age. The main challenges encountered include the uncontrollable influence of digital media and inconsistency in parenting within extended families. In conclusion, parenting in the digital era requires adaptive and reflective strategies to ensure that children grow up with strong and consistent positive behavior

Abstract

Fine motor skills refer to movements involving small muscle groups that require coordination between the eyes and hands. These skills develop through practice, learning experiences, and the maturation of motor functions. This study aimed to determine the effect of the traditional bekel ball game on the fine motor development of children aged 5–6 years. The study employed a quasi-experimental design involving 40 children in Group B at TK Ma'arif Lampung Timur, consisting of an experimental group and a control group. Data were collected using a fine motor development observation sheet and analyzed through paired sample t-tests and independent sample t-tests using SPSS version 16. The results revealed a significant effect of the traditional bekel ball game on children's fine motor development, with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. The average score of fine motor development in the experimental group increased from 65.50 to 80.50, representing an improvement of 22.90%. These findings indicate that the traditional bekel ball game is effective in stimulating fine motor development among early childhood learners. Therefore, traditional games can serve as an alternative learning medium to support children's fine motor development while preserving local cultural heritage

Abstract

This study aims to examine the internalization of diversity values through the traditional Ase game among early childhood children in Buton Regency. The novelty of the study lies in its specific focus on the Ase game as a medium for instilling diversity values, differing from previous research that has generally explored traditional games within the broader context of character development. The study identifies key diversity values that emerge, including cooperation, tolerance, harmonious living, mutual assistance, solidarity, and empathy, while positioning the local wisdom of the Buton community as an empirical context that remains underexplored in early childhood education research. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed with ten children as research participants. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and were analyzed using data reduction, data display, and verification procedures. The findings indicate that the traditional Ase game effectively internalizes diversity values through peer interactions, role distribution within teams, effective communication, and sportsmanship in accepting both victory and defeat. Therefore, the traditional Ase game has strong potential as a culturally based learning medium for instilling diversity values from an early age while simultaneously preserving local cultural heritage

Abstract

Gross motor development is an important aspect of early childhood education because it plays a role in supporting children's physical, cognitive, social, and emotional readiness. However, in practice, gross motor stimulation in PAUD institutions is still not optimal and tends to be dominated by passive activities. This study aims to describe the implementation of the snakes and ladders floor game in developing gross motor skills of children aged 5–6 years at PAUD Nurul Ihsan. This study used a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The subjects were 13 children in group B consisting of 5 boys and 8 girls, and two class teachers as key informants. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the implementation of the snakes and ladders floor game was able to improve children's gross motor skills, especially in aspects of balance, motor coordination, large muscle strength, agility, body control, courage to move, and physical endurance. Children also showed increased self-confidence and social skills, such as waiting their turn and following the rules of the game. It can be concluded that the snakes and ladders floor game is an effective, fun learning medium, and in accordance with the principles of learning through play in PAUD. This game has the potential to be a holistic learning approach in optimizing the gross motor development of early childhood.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze parental involvement in the learning process and its influence on children’s readiness to enter primary school at PAUD Nurul Aulad Pancalaksana. Children’s readiness is understood as a holistic condition encompassing cognitive, language, social-emotional, independence, and learning attitude aspects. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. The research participants consisted of parents and early childhood teachers selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with data credibility ensured through source and technique triangulation. The findings indicate that parental involvement manifested in home learning assistance, character building, positive communication, and active participation in school activities significantly contributes to children’s readiness for primary education. Children who receive consistent parental support demonstrate better cognitive readiness, more mature social-emotional development, greater independence, and positive attitudes toward learning. This study emphasizes that strengthening partnerships between parents and schools is a key strategy in supporting a smooth, child-friendly, and development-oriented transition from early childhood education to primary school.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the reading interest of children aged 5–6 years through read aloud activities at RA NU Kincang. The research subjects consisted of  teacher and 30 children in Group B, including 17 boys and 13 girls. The method used was Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles, each comprising planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. Data were collected through observations on three main indicators: children’s attention, willingness to retell or repeat reading, and engagement. The results showed a significant increase in all three indicators. Children’s attention increased from 43% at the initial stage to 95% in the second reflection. The willingness to retell or repeat reading increased from 50% to 98%, while engagement rose from 40% to 95%. Read aloud activities, delivered with engaging intonation, expressive gestures, and warm interaction between teachers and children, created a joyful, interactive learning environment suitable for early childhood. Children became more focused, enthusiastic, and active, while simultaneously fostering curiosity, love for books, language skills, imagination, and self-confidence. This study confirms that reading aloud is an effective strategy for fostering reading interest and supporting early literacy development in young children. In the context of Early Childhood Islamic Education, reading aloud activities have implications as a learning strategy that can integrate literacy development with the instillation of Islamic values, such as learning etiquette, a love of knowledge, and the formation of morals from an early age through meaningful stories
