Abstract

Red dragon fruit is an immigrant fruit that is liked by many people because it has content and properties that are quite good for health. The production of red dragon fruit from year to year will increase, so that at harvest time the price will drop drastically from usual. On the other hand, red dragon fruit cannot be stored for too long, so in this study an attempt was made to make jam from red dragon fruit flesh mixed with Moringa leaf extract. Moringa leaf extract used has tannin compounds that are useful in food products to extend the shelf life of a food. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of adding Moringa leaf extract (Moringa oleifera) on organoleptic tests and the shelf life of red dragon fruit jam (Hylocereus polyrhizus). This study used a randomized block design (RAK) consisting of 6 treatments with 4 replications, with different concentrations of Moringa leaf extract, namely (K = 0 ml, P1 = 5 ml, P2 = 15 ml, P3 = 25 ml, P4 = 30 ml, P5 = 50 ml. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the organoleptic test results of red dragon fruit jam (Hylocereus polyrhizus) had an effect on the level of aroma and taste, but had no effect on the color level of the jam. The shelf-life test of red dragon fruit jam (Hylocereus polyrhizus) was able to persisted for 4 days, after the 5th day some of the treatment samples were found to be moldy and after the 7th day almost all red dragon fruit jams were found to be moldy with the number of fungi growing more and more, so that the addition of Moringa oleifera leaf extract was not able to prolong the durability save the red dragon fruit jam (Hylocereus polyrhizus).

Abstract

The availability of nutrients in the growing media greatly affects the process of plant growth. This study aims to determine the effect of coconut coir compost media on the vegetative growth of cayenne pepper (Capsicum frustescens). This research was carried out at the Green House of the Department of Biology Education, Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering, Mandalika University of Education from September 22 - November 2, 2021 and the weighing was carried out at the Biology Laboratory, Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering, Mandalika University of Education. The design of this study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 6 replications, namely the treatment of coconut coir ash concentration P1 (coco coir ash concentration 5.0 grams), P2 (10 grams coconut coir ash concentration), P3 (coconut ash concentration 10 grams), P3 (coconut ash concentration 10 grams), coconut 15 grams), and 1 control treatment. Parameters observed were number of leaves, stem height, wet weight, and dry weight. The data obtained were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). The results showed that: 1) there were differences in the number of leaves and stem height for each treatment (P < 0.05), where the highest to lowest number of leaves and stem height were obtained in treatments P0, P1, P2, and P3; 2) there was no difference in wet weight for all treatments (P > 0.05); and 3) there was no difference in dry weight for all treatments (P > 0.05). The practicum guide enrichment materials produced from this study have met the criteria for media validation with a score of 70.83%, content validation 75%, and language validation 65%. With this result, the enrichment material is in the feasible category.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Somatic Auditory Visualization Intellectually (SAVI) learning model on social skills and cognitive learning outcomes of students of class X MA NW Sanggeng in the 2016/2017 academic year. The type of research used is quasi-experimental (quasi-experimental). The research design used was pretest-posttest non-equivalent control group design. The population in this study were all students of class X MA NW Sanggeng in the 2016/2017 academic year as many as 33 people consisting of 2 classes, namely class X-A consisting of 16 students and class X-B consisting of 17 students. The sample of this study was taken with a saturated sample technique. Class X-A as the experimental class and class X-B as the control class. The instruments used in this study were lesson plans implementation sheets, student social skills observation sheets and student learning outcomes tests (objective or multiple choice tests). The data analysis technique used to analyze the data from this study was polled variance tests. The results of data analysis showed that there were differences in the improvement of cognitive learning outcomes between students who used the somatic auditory visualization intellectually (SAVI) learning model and students who did not use the somatic auditory visualization intellectual (SAVI) learning model. Social skills in the experimental class with an average value of 75% (active) and in the control class with an average value of 66.22% (active). The results of the t-test are known that the value of ????count is 5.237 which is consulted with at the 5% significance level of 1.696 so that ????count > ttable H0 is rejected (Ha is accepted). This means that there is an effect of using the somatic auditory visualization intellectually (SAVI) learning model on social skills and cognitive learning outcomes of class X MA NW Sanggeng students.

Abstract

Tilapia is one example of fish that is successfully cultivated in the world. Tilapia can live in deep and wide waters as well as in narrow and shallow ponds, and can live in rivers. The main environmental and management factors that affect the survival and growth of fish are dissolved oxygen levels, temperature, pH, feeding rate, and others. This study aims to determine the effect of temperature on tilapia (Orechromis niloticus). The method used in this research is a literature study (systematic review) by analyzing several scientific articles that are relevant to the study being discussed. The results of this study are known that temperature is very influential on several aspects of life, namely the level of survival, appetite, level of stability of the body for disease, growth rate, fish movement, viscosity and blood flow, oxygen consumption, leukocyte count, glucose level. in the blood, the number of erythrocytes, the number of platelets, the reaction of changing ammonium to ammonia, seed maintenance, tilapia weight, spermatogenesis stage in male individuals, hemoglobin concentration, feminization and masculinization of gonads, gastric evacuation rate, number of egg production, swimming speed, metabolic rate, response to feeding, the level of infertility in female fish, tilapia seed weight, fish stress level, the mechanism for determining the number of sex ratios, ovarian structure, and testicular structure. The conclusion of this study is that temperature greatly influences the life of tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus).

Abstract

Local potential has meaning as a source or strength possessed by each region to be utilized in certain activities. The local potential that has been utilized in biology learning is the school yard area as a place for learning practices. The aims of this study are: 1) to identify what local potentials exist in SMA Negeri 1 Pemenang, North Lombok Regency; and 2) find out how to develop local potential in SMA Negeri 1 Pemenang, North Lombok Regency as the basis for the preparation of class X Biology LKPD. This type of research is descriptive research and development research. The development model used is a 4D development model which is modified into 3D, namely Define, Design, and Develop. The location used as a place of research is a live pharmacy, where a live pharmacy has several types of medicinal plants that are used as learning media. Based on the validation results from the validator, the results from linguists were 67.5%; material experts by 57.5%; and expert display by 42.5%; with an average of 55.5% in the eligibility category the Student Worksheet is quite valid.

Abstract

Based on the results of observations made, it was found that student achievement in learning mathematics was still lacking. This is caused by the lack of teacher creativity in delivering learning materials. For this reason, the author uses abacus teaching aids in improving students' Mathematics learning achievement. The type of research used in this research is Classroom Action Research (CAR). The results showed that there was an increase in the student's average score of 72.91% with learning completeness of 79.16% in the first cycle, and the student's average score of 80% and learning completeness of 87.50% in the second cycle. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the use of abacus teaching aids can improve students' learning achievement in Mathematics.

Abstract

Teacher competencies consist of pedagogical, personality, social, and professional competencies. Science educators must be able to encourage students to become lifelong students who are competent, have character, and behave in accordance with the values of Pancasila, have the competence to become democratic citizens and become superior and productive human beings, and be able to participate in sustainable and resilient global development in facing various challenges. So that to be able to integrate these values into science learning, the conception of these four competencies for science educators must be reformulated by considering the competencies needed for Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), Science Literacy, and strengthening the pupil profile of Pancasila. The results of this study show that pedagogical, personality, social, and professional competencies can be reformulated so that they are relevant to Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), Science Literacy, and strengthening the pupil profile of Pancasila learning. With the presence of this competency, the science teachers will have the ability to facilitate learning for Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), Scientific Literacy, and strengthening the profile of Pancasila learning. simultaneously through the science learning process.

Abstract

The problem in this research is the low mathematics learning outcomes of students. This is because the teaching methods used are still monotonous. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of the problem based learning cooperative learning model on the mathematics learning outcomes of class XI students at SMA Negeri 2 Labuapi. The type of research used in this research is a quasi experiment with a pre-test post-test control group design. The population in this study were class XI students of SMA Negeri 2 Labuapi. The sample for this research was class XIA as the experimental class and XIB as the control class. The sampling technique uses saturated sampling. The instrument of this research is a test sheet. Based on the results of data analysis on student mathematics learning outcomes, the average score in the experimental class was 81.33 with the highest score being 100 and the lowest score being 65, while the average score in the control class was 60.17 with the highest score being 80 and the lowest score being 40. Based on the results of the t test, tcount is 8.298 and ttable is 2.002, because tcount ≥ ttable then Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected. So, it can be concluded that there is an influence of the problem based learning type cooperative learning model on the mathematics learning outcomes of class XI students at SMA Negeri 2 Labuapi.

Abstract

Research about green tea ethanol extract efficacy against Pseudomonas aeruginosa has been finished. The green tea leaves were sourced from Agro Wonosari Tea Plantation, Malang Regency, East Java Province, Indonesia. Green tea leaves extract was obtained by maceration technique in which green tea leaves were soaked with ethanol 96% for 24 hours. After that, the filtrate was concentrated to be thick extract with no liquid content again.  After that, the concentrated extract was made by 5%, 10% and 15% as extract variations. The efficacy of green tea ethanol extract against Pseudomonas aeruginosa  was signed by increasing the inhibitory diameter that using disc method, in which the distilled water was used as negative blank. The results obtained for blanks, 5%, 10% and 15% extracts were 0; 1.85; 2.9 and 4.45 mm. The conclusion of this study is that the concentration of the extract is increasing proportionally to its inhibitory power, the higher of extract concentration is higher of its inhibitory activity against Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The conclusion described the green tea ethanol extract was effective to be antibacterial agent against Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

Abstract

Ornamental fish cultivation is a promising business area, many people have started ornamental fish cultivation. One of the ornamental fish that is gaining popularity is the guppy fish (Poecilla reticulata). The main problems in guppy fish farming are disease and water quality, both of which play an important role in the success of guppy fish farming. Salt and probiotics are considered capable of improving water quality in guppy fish culture. This study aims to determine the effect of adding fish salt and probiotics on water quality in guppies (Poecilla reticulata). The results showed that giving probiotics to guppies was more effective than using salt.
