Abstract

This research is a development research (Research & Development) which aims to: 1) produce student worksheets on short story writing learning based on liveworksheets for grade VIII junior high school students; and 2) test the validity of student worksheets on short story writing learning based on liveworksheets for grade VIII junior high school students. The development model used in this study is ADDIE. This research was conducted at SMP IT Yuhana Four Dalle, Gowa Regency. The research instrument used was a validation sheet on the student worksheet. Validity level data were collected using a questionnaire. The subjects of this study were material experts, media experts, and Indonesian language teachers. The object of this study was LKPD using liveworksheets on short story writing material. Data collection techniques used interview and questionnaire techniques. The results of this study indicate the level of validity of LKPD based on liveworksheet on Indonesian language material (writing short stories) for grade VIII junior high school students obtained a score of 3.3 with the category (valid) by material experts, then obtained a score of 3.6 with the category (very valid) by media experts, and obtained a score of 3.6 with the category (very valid) by subject teachers. Based on the validation results carried out by material expert validators, media expert validators, and subject teachers, it can be concluded that student worksheets on short story writing learning based on liveworksheets are declared very valid for use.

Abstract

Eggplant (Solanum melongena L.) is a vegetable plant that is planted to use its fruit as food ingredients, such as fresh vegetables or processed into various types of dishes because of its delicious taste. This study aims to determine the effect of rice washing water on the growth of eggplant (Solanum melongena L.) plant stems. The design used in this study was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD), consisting of 3 treatments with 9 replications, namely: P1 (750 ml of rice washing water + 750 ml of plain water); P2 75% (1125 ml of rice washing water + 375 ml of plain water); and P3 100% (1500 rice water). The observed variable was the height of eggplant (Solanum melongena L.) stems. The results of this study indicate that there is an effect of giving rice washing water on the growth of eggplant (Solanum melongena L.) plant stems. The best result was in the 3rd treatment with 100% rice washing water, while the treatment using 50% plain water had the lowest result.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the Interactive Media Kahoot! Against Editorial Text Learning Outcomes of XII UPT Class Students of SMAN 1 Pangkep Pangkep Regency. The independent variable in this study is kahoot! interactive media and the dependent variable is the learning outcomes of students on editorial text material. The population in this study were all students of class XII UPT SMAN 1 Pangkep consisting of 11 classes, the samples were class XII Amanah and XII Energik with 25 students each. The data of the research were obtained by giving the posttest of editorial text learning outcomes test. The data analysis technique is descriptive statistical analysis using IBM SPSS Statistic application. Based on the results of the posttest, it was found that the average test score of students' learning outcomes using Google Form was 54.8 and the average test score of students' learning outcomes using interactive media kahoot! was 74. The results of the study based on the statistical analysis of the t test obtained the comparison value of the t value and t table is 5.985> 2.012. Thus it can be concluded that kahoot! interactive media has a significant effect on the learning outcomes of editorial text students of class XII UPT SMAN 1 Pangkep Pangkep Regency.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the phenomenon of code switching and code mixing in conversations on the Curhat Bang Denny Sumargo YouTube Podcast which discusses socio-cultural issues. The method used is descriptive qualitative, with data obtained from three relevant podcast episodes. The data were collected through listening techniques and manual transcription, then analyzed using Chaer's theory of code switching and code mixing. Data analysis techniques include data reduction, data presentation in descriptive and tabular form, and inductive inference. The results showed that there were 13 code-switching data, all in the form of external code-switching from Indonesian to English, with no internal code-switching found. In addition, 101 code-mixing data were found, consisting of 37 word insertions, 35 phrase insertions, and 29 clause insertions. The most dominant form of code mix is word insertion because there are many foreign terms that do not have equivalents in Indonesian. The main factors influencing the occurrence of code-switching and code-mixing are the topic of conversation and the speaker's habits while in code-mixing, the habit factor. The findings of this study show that code-switching and code-mixing in the podcast are influenced by the topic of conversation and the linguistic habits of the speakers. This research is expected to enrich sociolinguistic studies, especially in understanding the dynamics of language use in digital media such as podcasts.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the form and function of satire language style in netizen comments on the TikTok account @fujiiian. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. The source of research data, namely netizen comments in the comments column of the @fujiiian account on the TikTok application. Data collection techniques are carried out using observation and documentation techniques or screen capture. Data analysis techniques, namely data reduction to highlight relevant information, data presentation is the stage where the data is displayed to be more easily understood, and conclusions to summarize the data that has been analyzed to be associated with the focus of the study. The results of this study indicate that the form of language style includes irony, cynicism, and sarcasm. The function of satire language style is divided into 5 categories, namely functions in the form of sentences, opinions, questions, similarities, comparisons, and commands.

Abstract

This study examines the strategies of Indonesian language teachers in implementing the Independent Curriculum at SMPN 1 Tompobulu, Bantaeng Regency. The purpose of the study is to describe the planning, implementation, and assessment strategies of Indonesian language teachers in implementing the Independent Curriculum at SMPN 1 Tompobulu, Bantaeng Regency. The type of research is qualitative with a descriptive qualitative approach design. Data collection techniques through interviews with two Indonesian language teachers, classroom observations, and document analysis. The data analysis technique in this study uses analysis according to Miles and Huberman, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that the strategy of Indonesian language teachers in the planning stage has considered aspects of mature planning and student needs. At the implementation stage, teachers have used teaching tools by referring to teaching modules, and at the assessment stage using a comprehensive assessment of learning. This study concludes that the implementation of the Independent Curriculum has shown success in creating effective and meaningful learning for students.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to: 1) determine the effect of the problem based learning model on students' learning independence; and 2) determine the effect of the problem based learning model on students' cognitive learning outcomes. This type of research is quasi-experimental with a population of all 6 classes of grade VII students at MTs. Nurul Hakim, Kediri District, West Lombok Regency. with a purposive sampling technique, VII D as the experimental class and class VII F as the control class. The instruments used were independence questionnaires and students' cognitive learning outcome test questions. Data collection techniques used pre-test and post-test. While data analysis used interpretation of learning independence categories and a t-test was conducted for cognitive learning outcomes. The results showed that the average value of the pre-test for student independence was 63.52 with a moderate category, and the post-test for student independence had an average value of 64.92 with a moderate category. Students' cognitive learning outcomes showed that the pre-test had an average value of 54.8 and the post-test had an average value of 63.44. The t-test results obtained a significance value of p = 0.04 <α = 0.05. Based on the results of this study, it shows that the problem-based learning model has an effect on the independence and cognitive learning outcomes of students at MTs. Nurul Hakim, Kediri District, West Lombok Regency.

Abstract

Language plays an important role as a fundamental communication system in social interaction and the formation of cultural identity. This study examines the impact of social media on the Indonesian language skills of the younger generation. The rapid emergence of social media, especially among teenagers, has significantly changed the use of Indonesian. Direct observation was conducted to analyze writings on social media and compare them with the Enhanced Spelling (EYD) guidelines. Findings from direct observation showed that younger people tend to use slang, foreign terms, and abbreviations that do not always follow standard Indonesian language rules. However, social media also has a positive impact by introducing language variations and promoting Indonesian culture on the global stage. Therefore, it is very important for the younger generation to use social media responsibly, so that they can remain productive and love Indonesian. In the digital context, social media has become a new space that influences the way the younger generation uses Indonesian. This study aims to examine how the use of Indonesian by the younger generation is influenced by social media, especially in terms of conformity with standard language rules. The method used is a qualitative analysis of 150 posts from social media users aged 15-24 years on the Instagram and Twitter platforms, collected during the period January-March 2024. The data was analyzed by comparing the linguistic elements in the posts with the Enhanced Spelling (EYD) guidelines. The results of the study showed that 78% of the posts contained elements of non-standard language, such as the use of abbreviations ("bgt", "gak"), slang ("lo", "gue"), and foreign terms ("update", "cringe"). However, creative practices were also found in the use of language that reflected group identity and the promotion of local culture. These results indicate that social media has an ambivalent role: on the one hand, it shifts standard language norms, but on the other hand, it opens up space for new linguistic dynamics and expressions. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen Indonesian language literacy that is adaptive to the development of digital media.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between writers, literary works, and society in the film Anak Karaeng. This film raises the theme of the customs of Kakaraengang (nobility) in Makassar society, especially in Takalar Regency. This study uses the Ian Watt model of literary sociology approach which focuses on three aspects, namely: the author's social context, literature as a reflection of society, and the social function of literature. This type of research is qualitative using a descriptive method that describes the form of literary sociology. This study uses interactive model data analysis with research analysis techniques according to Miles & Huberman (1994). The results of this study indicate that the social context of the author of the film Anak Karaeng is influenced by his cultural background and experience in working on previous films. This film reflects the social reality of Makassar society which still adheres to the customs of Kakaraengang, which triggers conflict in interpersonal relationships. This film also has a social function as a medium of education and entertainment for the community, as well as a reflection of the culture and traditions of the Makassar tribe.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze misconceptions and conceptual understanding in science education through a systematic review. Misconceptions often hinder the correct understanding of scientific concepts. Using a constructivist approach, this study explores cognitive theories that explain the origins of misconceptions and effective strategies to overcome them. Using a systematic review and meta-analysis within the PRISMA framework. This study emphasizes the importance of evaluation tools such as multi-tier diagnostic tests and the Certainty of Response Index (CRI) to identify and correct misconceptions. Analyzing 37 articles revealed that diverse evaluation methods offer valuable insights into students' understanding and misconceptions, each with its own pros and cons. The study findings suggest that science education can diversify teaching methods, improve the quality of evaluation instruments, and integrate technology into learning to support evaluation and address misconceptions. Additional recommendations include teacher training, contextual curriculum development, and ongoing monitoring and evaluation to improve the quality of science education.
