Abstract

This study explores the representation of binary oppositions in a resistance-themed poetry anthology composed by students of PBSI Reguler E’23, employing structuralism as the principal analytical framework. Often underestimated as amateur works, student poems in this research are positioned as ideological expressions enriched with complex symbolic structures. Drawing from Claude Lévi-Strauss’s structuralist theory, this study examines how pairs of opposing concepts—such as light vs darkness, people vs rulers, and voice vs silence—are constructed to reinforce critical messages against oppressive socio-political realities. Utilizing a descriptive qualitative approach and document analysis method, 38 selected poems were examined through an in-depth textual interpretation of diction patterns, symbolism, and narrative structures that signify ideological tension. The findings reveal that binary oppositions serve not only as stylistic elements but also as thematic foundations that articulate resistance, identity, and collective awareness among students toward social injustice. These results affirm that student poetry embodies both aesthetic and political values, deserving recognition in contemporary literary discourse. Theoretically, this study contributes to the development of structuralist approaches in modern Indonesian literary studies; practically, it offers valuable insight for literature education based on ideological critique within the university context.

Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the application of the Think Pair Share (TPS) learning model as an effort to improve the ability to write essays (insya) in Arabic for class VIII students at MTs Zamahsyari. The research uses the classroom action research (PTK) method which consists of four stages: planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The research subjects were class VIII students who had difficulty writing Arabic essays. Data was collected through writing tests, classroom observations, and interviews with students and teachers. The research results show that the application of the TPS model can improve students' writing skills significantly. This improvement can be seen from various aspects, such as the use of better grammar, richer vocabulary, and more regular essay structures. Apart from that, the TPS model also encourages active student participation in the learning process, increases interaction between students, and creates a more collaborative and enjoyable learning atmosphere. Thus, the TPS learning model can be considered effective in improving students' Arabic essay writing skills. This research recommends using the TPS model as an alternative learning strategy to improve students' writing skills.

Abstract

This study discusses the philosophical foundations in the development of the Arabic language curriculum as a conceptual basis that determines the direction, content, and teaching methods. The Arabic curriculum is not only designed to teach linguistic skills but also to cultivate a deep understanding of human, intellectual, and spiritual values within the framework of educational philosophy. The aim of this study is to identify and analyze the philosophical aspects underlying the development of the Arabic curriculum, particularly from the perspectives of ontology, epistemology, and axiology. This research employs a qualitative approach using a literature review method, examining various primary and secondary sources such as books, journals, and relevant curriculum documents. Data collection was carried out through documentation and analyzed using descriptive-analytical techniques. The results show that the Arabic language curriculum should be built upon a comprehensive philosophical understanding: ontologically affirming the existence of language as a medium of revelation and culture; epistemologically supporting the construction of knowledge through both scientific and religious approaches; and axiologically emphasizing the importance of moral, ethical, and meaningful values in the learning process. These findings underscore the urgency of integrating philosophical dimensions in the development of the Arabic language curriculum to make it more holistic, relevant, and transformative.

Abstract

This study discusses the sociological foundations in the development of the Arabic language curriculum as a response to social dynamics, community needs, and global challenges that influence the educational process. The Arabic language curriculum cannot be separated from the socio-cultural context in which learning takes place, as language is an integral part of community life. The purpose of this study is to identify and analyze the sociological dimensions that play a role in shaping an Arabic curriculum that is relevant and adaptive to the changing times. This research employs a qualitative approach using a literature review method, examining various references on educational sociology theories, language policies, and curriculum practices within Islamic educational environments. Data collection was conducted through documentation of primary and secondary sources and analyzed using a descriptive-analytical approach. The results show that the development of a sociologically-based Arabic curriculum must consider factors such as students’ social backgrounds, intercultural communication needs, and the role of Arabic in fostering global Islamic solidarity. Such a curriculum can serve as a bridge between local values and global demands, promoting learning that is contextual, participatory, and inclusive in accordance with the learners’ social realities.

Abstract

The study aimed to explore the use of the Wordwall application in enhancing the engagement of third-grade students in Arabic language learning at STAT InsanMulia. The research was conducted in two cycles, with the first cycle evaluating the pre-Wordwall conditions and the second cycle after implementing Wordwall in the learning process. The qualitative research method used a case study approach. Data were collected through observations, interviews with teachers, and school documentation analysis. The results of the first cycle showed that student engagement in Arabic language learning was limited by minimal student interaction, low-quality questions, and limited innovative learning media. The second cycle revealed significant improvements in student participation, the quality of their written assignments, and deeper discussions in class. Integrating Wordwall as the main learning medium achieved a high level of satisfaction from both teachers and students, with around 95% of learning activities using Wordwall for interactive quizzes and other exercises. This study provides evidence that the use of educational technology, particularly the Wordwall application, can contribute positively to enhancing interactivity and the quality of learning in educational settings. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of developing curricula that support the use of technology in learning and the need for continuous training for teachers to optimize the potential of technology in enhancing the effectiveness of the learning process.

Abstract

A clearly designed and applicable curriculum and learning system are essential for achieving educational goals. The purpose of this study is to identify the systems and instruments contained in the national education curriculum and the learning system used in Arabic language learning. The method used in this study is a systematic literature review. Data collection for the literature review was conducted through a literature review of relevant reference sources from books and journals for analysis and classification. The results obtained from this study are the K13 Curriculum system, which includes instruments for assessing attitudes, assessing knowledge, and assessing skills to achieve curriculum components. Meanwhile, in the Independent Curriculum, the instruments used to fulfill these components are assessments, both formative, summative, and diagnostic. Furthermore, in Arabic language learning, there are three learning systems: the unitary system, the branch system, and the combined system. All three systems share the same primary goal: to be able to use language correctly as a tool for communication, both directly and indirectly, both orally and in writing.
