Abstract

Complex financial markets, influenced by complex and interconnected factors, require proper decision making. Gold derivatives, as an increasingly popular trading instrument, have experienced significant growth. However, with high profit potential also comes significant risk. Market analysis, including technical analysis and leveraging seasonality, can be an important tool in reducing risk and making smart decisions. This research aims to assess the effectiveness of the Geometric Brownian Motion (GBM) model in predicting Gold Derivative prices through the application of the Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) test.In this study, the Brownian Motion Geometric Method and Simple Moving Average are combined to analyze the seasonality of gold derivative prices to provide a view of price movement patterns. The results showed that the Brownian Motion Geometric Method was effective in predicting the price of gold derivatives, with a low error rate. In addition, seasonality analysis reveals monthly price movement patterns that can be a guide for traders and investors. This research provides valuable insights for decision making in gold derivatives trading in dynamic and complex financial markets.

Abstract

As a popular social media platform, TikTok relies heavily on User-Generated Content (UGC), which is also one of its main attractions. The rapid production of UGC has implications for Tiktok's ability to moderate a large amount of content in a short time. Even though algorithmic technology and automatic filtering are used to assist this process, a moderator team that is responsive and efficient in carrying out moderation actions is needed. This need has implications for the growth of the Commercial Content Moderation (CCM) industry, where Tiktok employs a team of moderators to check and moderate content uploaded by users. The research aims to explore the complexities and unique aspects of Indonesian Tiktok content moderation and its implications for the development of UGC. This research uses an in-depth interview method approach with Tiktok Moderator Team informants as primary data, as well as related secondary uses as supporting data. The research focuses on how moderation practices are carried out by the Indonesian Tiktok Moderator Team in handling content related to vulnerable groups in society such as women, children, and the elderly, who in the last seven years have colored the dynamics of Tiktok in Indonesia. By highlighting the challenges faced by the Moderator Team in finding a balance between giving users freedom of expression and maintaining the security of the Tiktok platform, this research offers recommendations for improving content moderation practices on the platform, especially for the protection of these vulnerable groups.

Abstract

This paper aims to present a critical analysis of Neo-Gramscianism, a theoretical framework rooted in the works of Antonio Gramsci, especially regarding its understanding of hegemony. This paper use critical theory by Frankfurt School as a foundation in criticizing the concept of hegemony argued by Robert Cox. While Neo-Gramscianism offers valuable insights, this study seeks to unveil its inherent limitations. Departing from the question of, “Do the concepts provided by Neo-Gramscian about Hegemony solve the problem of marginalized communities?” and using Frankfurt School’s critical theory as the analytical framework, the analysis highlights several key flaws. Firstly, the epistemological failure it reflects, the overemphasis on two-way hegemony or by consent has overlooked a significant factor, which is the inevitable resistance of subaltern class.  This movement would presumably trigger the elite class to force their power onto the subaltern class, which would engage the two classes in a series of material and ideological struggles, and eventually will result in the persistence of domination. Secondly, this critical analysis also assesses the internal fallacies of Neo-Gramscian with Horkheimer’s criteria on Critical Theory. This paper concludes that the promised two-way hegemony initiated by Robert Cox fails to solve the problem of marginalized communities, since it is inherently not a Critical Theory, by its utilization of power relations, top-down approach, and most importantly, centralization of power.

Abstract

The study aims to provide a critical understanding of the views of Toba Batak culture to examine the issue of ecological damage. The study discusses a qualitative approach with literature studies. The results show land theology provides an explanation of the understanding of the value of land intrigue according to the Culture of the Toba Batak People that their ancestors valued the land so much that the land was his own identity. The value of land restriction understood by the ancestors of the Toba Batak people departs from the totalitarian understanding that microcosmic and macrocosmic connections explain how humans relate to God, humans to their environment and humans to humans. The relationship is arranged in a value system that makes the land so identical to itself that the ancestors of the Toba Batak people call that the land is surnamed. From this relationship then born philosophy as an ideal that became the purpose of the life of the Toba Batak community in its development so that the value and meaning of the land became lost. The Toba Batak community then as understood anthropomism made land as an instrument for achieving economic value. Land is no longer viewed from its intrinsic value in the cultural value of the Toba Batak people, causing ecological crises and conflicts. Therefore, if the Toba Batak community was born from a culture inherited from ancestors to the present. Thus loving Culture becomes concrete evidence of loving the land.

Abstract

The Law Number 2 of 2004 concerning Settlement of Industrial Relations Disputes regulates the settlement of disputes in the employment relationship between workers and employers, including disputes over rights, interests, termination of employment, and disputes between trade unions within one company. The Industrial Relations Court is formed to examine and decide on the industrial relations dispute, and the execution of the decision handed down will be carried out. However, the problem is how to carry out the execution in the Industrial Relations Court for decisions that have legal force, and whether it is necessary to establish a separate execution confiscation institution is regulated in the Law on the Settlement of Industrial Relations Disputes. Article 57 of the law states that the procedural law applicable to the Industrial Relations Court is the civil procedural law that applies to courts within the general court environment, unless specifically regulated in this law. The entire legal process for the settlement of industrial relations disputes uses the civil procedural legal process, including the rules regarding the execution. Several studies have highlighted the need for a separate execution confiscation institution to improve the effectiveness of the settlement of industrial relations disputes.
