Abstract

This study aims to analyze the formation of deliberative democracy in political education within the National Democratic Party (NasDem) of DKI Jakarta. By employing the concept of deliberative democracy, we argue that the NasDem Party of DKI Jakarta applies a democratic intersubjective dialogue process in decision-making regarding internal party political education. Although research on political education in general within political parties in Indonesia has been widely discussed, this paper complements previous studies by considering democratic inter-agent interactions and analyzing the discourse of deliberative democracy in political education within the NasDem Party of DKI Jakarta. Through qualitative exploration with descriptive case studies of two informants, field findings indicate that interactions in political education within the NasDem Party of DKI Jakarta are democratic in line with the party's ideological foundation, which guarantees internal democracy and promotes public democratization. Additionally, political parties also engage in empowering active members through participatory procedures and facilitate deliberative decisions in legitimizing internal political education from the village level to the provincial level. These findings contribute to an intra-party deliberative democracy model aimed at empowering members and offering a political public forum that prioritizes deliberation in influencing decisions.

Abstract

Investment has evolved from a mere societal desire to a necessity, driven by the quest for higher returns in a shorter time frame. The millennial generation, being the largest population in its productive years, holds a significant role in investment activities. However, many millennials face challenges in achieving their expected investment results, possibly due to factors such as inadequate financial literacy, deficient risk management, and overconfidence in their investment decisions. This study aims to scrutinize the impact of financial literacy, risk perception, and overconfidence on investment decisions among millennials in Jakarta, offering insights to both investors and practitioners. By testing financial literacy as a moderator in the relationship between risk perception, overconfidence, and investment decisions, the research fills a literature gap. Through a quantitative survey of 200 millennial investors in Jakarta and PLS-SEM analysis, the study reveals that overconfidence and risk perception positively influence investment decisions. Additionally, financial literacy moderates the effect of overconfidence but not risk perception on investment decisions. The findings provide valuable guidance for investors, emphasizing the crucial role of financial literacy in mitigating irrational behavior during decision-making, thereby influencing investment choices.

Abstract

Modern women frequently encounter challenges in their perspectives on life's struggle, such as focusing on social expectations of women, experiencing a lack of spiritual support in relationships, and facing a disconnection between education, job, and marriage, which hinders their pursuit of an ideal partnership. This research examines the life of education, marriage experiences, ideas, and inspirations of Jo March in the movie "Little Women" to face the challenges of women in their views on life. The data was collected from two sources the movie Little Women (2019) and other sources of literature. The result revealed that the feminist thought of life struggle found in several aspects, such as the struggle for freedom, the struggle for education, and the Struggle for happiness. These struggles were fueled by the unfair treatment of women, who were subjected to a patriarchal society that taught them they were less important than men and should adhere to men's decisions. The societal expectation that women's happiness was contingent upon male support further limited their pursuit of independence. In this era, the concept of freedom seemed distant and unattainable for women, highlighting the pervasive and systemic barriers they faced.

Abstract

The objective of the psychoeducational program "Stop Bullying for Better Future" is to provide understanding about bullying and its impacts on the future to the students of SMKN 2 Penajam Paser Utara, North Kalimantan. This is done because based on the analysis of psychoeducational needs and the academic achievements of these students have decreased due to the prevalent bullying behavior among peers. This activity involves all students from grades X, XI, XII, and as the target/pilot project, the activity focuses on students from the XI Computer Engineering class who are mentored by one of the speakers. The activity is conducted through a Zoom link and sociodrama games performed by the students. The T-test analysis results from the pre-test and post-test conducted showed a significance value of 0.045, where this value is smaller than 0.05, indicating a significant influence of psychoeducation on the understanding of the students of SMKN 2 Penajam Paser Utara. However, the behavior change cannot be determined yet because the psychoeducation conducted targets cognitive and affective aspects rather than behavior change. In the role-playing game, the students showed varied impressions according to the roles they played, as victims of bullying, perpetrators, and bystanders.

Abstract

Indonesia, as a large country in the Asian region, is characterized by thousands of islands, a population of hundreds of millions of people, and various ethnicities, races and religions. However, behind this diversity it can also be a trigger for conflict, both internal and external. One aspect that is often highlighted is the role of religion in conflicts between religious communities. Joint Regulation of the Minister of Religion and the Minister of Home Affairs Number 9/8 of 2006 concerning the Establishment of Houses of Worship was established to regulate procedures for building places of worship, including construction, maintenance and management. However, the implementation of these regulations in the field often faces various challenges and obstacles. The research reviews the implementation of these regulations in the City of Cilegon, Banten. The review presented relate to the licensing context, the concept of religious harmony, and the concept of establishing places of worship. The method used is qualitative research with literature study as a data acquisition technique. The research results show that the implementation of the Joint Regulation of the Minister of Religion and the Minister of Home Affairs Number 9/8 of 2006 concerning the Establishment of Houses of Worship in Cilegon City has not been fully effective. Socialization efforts, improving regulations, and enforcing government neutrality are the main keys in increasing the effectiveness of implementing these regulations.
