The term community service refers to activities that utilize relevant science and technology to advance the welfare of the community and educate the nations life. This journal publishes articles with topics such as theoretical innovations or methods or strategies for implementing community service activities, community service management innovations, university-community partnership strengthening programs, as well as other topics related to the impact and best practices in the implementation of community service to society. Praxis accepts article submissions from all over the world. All accepted articles will be published for payment of an article processing fee, and will be available free of charge to all readers with worldwide visibility and coverage. Praxis accepts article manuscripts with the following types Research Article: contains a quantitative, qualitative, or combination method study that shows the impact of community service projects on local communities, students, lecturers, or institutions. Reflective Essays contain sharp reflections on current issues or ideas related to community service based on literature. Projects with Prospects contains a description of the early stages of a community service project with an initial indication of its impact long-term evaluation plan a plan for how the project will remain sustainable; and best practices for readers to emulate. Book Reviews contains reviews of books related to community service which are more than just content descriptions, in order to analyze and extract their implications for theory and practice.

Abstract

This community service activity is a form of effort to support the government program "Healthy Communities that are Independent and Just. The target subjects for partners in this community service activity are the people in Kamal Village, Arjasa District, and Jember Regency. Preliminary studies have been carried out and show that the incidence rate in the village is very high. Thus, health checks and health promotion in an effort to control blood sugar levels through the use of natural germplasm are very necessary. The health checks that will be carried out include random blood sugar checks (GDS). The education provided can include understanding the causes, signs and symptoms, risk factors, and types of healthy nutrition to prevent and control complications of diabetes mellitus. Early screening can be done by carrying out laboratory examinations in the community. After the examination, it was discovered that some people experienced hyperglycemia and some experienced hypoglycemia. Through this activity, the public can understand the material presented and can find out their health status so that early prevention can be carried out.

Abstract

The development of the Islamic boarding school business can have a significant impact on the students' self-development in entrepreneurship. In fact, the students not only learn religious knowledge but also learn about linear entrepreneurship with a santripreneur spirit. The Islamic boarding school business development model being developed is social entrepreneurship (sociopreneur) because it is in line with the character of Islamic boarding schools. In community service at the Salafiyah Raudhotutholibin Al-Asy'Ariyah Islamic boarding school, Purwadadi Village, which was held on 10th November 2023, various assistance was provided regarding sociopreneur-based business development. In this training, various knowledge has been provided on designing business ideas in the context of Islamic boarding schools. The success of this activity can be seen from the increasing knowledge and understanding of the students regarding designing business ideas, research and business feasibility studies, production management, business marketing and financial management. From the results of this service activity, it is known that the students have been able to develop a framework for developing the Islamic boarding school business by prioritizing the spirit of social entrepreneurship (sociopreneurship).

Abstract

Amulat Agricultural and Rural Self-Help Training Center (P4S) is a farmer institution based on self-help located in Bleberan Village, Kapanewon Playen, Gunungkidul Regency, with soybean (Glycine max L.Mer) as the leading commodity. However, the majority of farmers pay less attention to their farms, due to various limitations. This study aims to determine how the role of P4S Amulat as a farmer institution based on self-help training on farmer behavior on soybean commodity farming. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique used is narrative data analysis, with descriptive writing method. The results showed that P4S Amulat has a role as a motivator, provider of facilities and infrastructure, consultant, business network, training and apprenticeship. The role of P4S Amulat is influential in changing the behavior of farmers in Bleberan Village. Changes in farmer behavior can be seen from the aspects of knowledge, attitudes, and skills possessed by farmers. Changes in farmer behavior have had a positive impact on soybean farming activities, with increased community welfare in Bleberan Village.

Abstract

Education in Indonesia provides the widest opportunities for students to develop themselves. With the Independent Learning Curriculum, students are encouraged to be more creative and innovative. One of the flagship programs of the independent learning curriculum is the Teaching Campus. The teaching campus program is part of the independent campus program, which has made an important contribution to the progress of education in Indonesia. Students from the teaching campus will be placed in various assignment schools, with the main target of this program being elementary schools (SD) and junior high schools located in the region. 4T (Frontier, Outermost, Disadvantaged, and Transmigration Zones), as well as schools with accreditation below A. The aim of this service is to improve the literacy skills of students at SD Negeri Tangkisan, Bayan sub-district, Purworejo Regency. The partner involved is SD Negeri Tangkisan. This service is carried out in three stages: preparation by attending debriefing and observing placement schools; and implementation of the Teaching Campus program. The approach used in this research is a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. In data collection techniques, the author uses documentation techniques for each activity carried out and then reviews them in several bibliographies. The results of the service show that there are changes and good impacts for students, teachers, and schools, such as increasing the quality of students' reading skills, facilitating reading rooms, providing assistance to the School Literacy Movement, and assisting in adapting technology and administration in the school library. The school feels helped by these activities. Students also feel happy, enthusiastic, and motivated to come to the library, visit the reading corner during breaks, and are active in the school literacy movement.

Abstract

This research aims to introduce and implement the use of google form as a survei tool to collect data from residents of Darma Bakti, Cengkareng, West Jakarta. The research method involves developing a survei form using the google form platform that can be accessed online. The research also explored the effectiveness of google form in collecting data on various aspects of Darma Bakti residents' lives and needs. The research process involved introducing the concept and functionality of google form to respondents, as well as brief training to increase participation in the survei. The data collected included demographic information, preferences, and feedback related to services and facilities obtained from Darma Bakti residents. Data analysis involved the use of automated analysis features provided by google form, as well as manual interpretation to gain deeper insights. The results of this study are expected to provide a better view of the use of google form as an effective and efficient tool for citizen surveis, as well as provide valuable input for the improvement of services and facilities in the Darma Bakti neighborhood, Cengkareng, West Jakarta. This research also contributes to the literature related to the use of online survei technology, especially in the context of local communities.

Abstract

Environmental problems are still the biggest problem and will never end, especially regarding waste. Where Darmaji Village produces 3,373kg/day of waste. With the large amount of waste produced, people do not know how to process or use the waste. There are many ways to manage and utilize household waste, one of which is making it into liquid organic fertilizer. Using liquid organic fertilizer on plants has the benefit of increasing nitrogen in the soil. In this article, we will discuss a Village Community Empowerment (PMD) activity with training material on Making Liquid Organic Fertilizer (POC) by Utilizing Household Waste.

Abstract

Salah satu upaya untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan Kesehatan ibu hamil adalah melalui kelas ibu hamil. Adanya perubahan system dalam tubuh ibu yang semuanya membutuhkan suatu adaptasi, baik fisik maupun psikologis sehingga tidak jarang ibu akan mengalami ketidaknyamanan. Pengadaan kelas ibu hamil menjadi sarana penting untuk belajar bersama tentang kesehatan bagi ibu hamil, dalam bentuk tatap muka dalam kelompok yang salah satu tujuannya untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan terkait kehamilan. Peserta Kelas Ibu Hamil adalah ibu hamil dengan umur kehamilan antara 20 minggu s/d 32 minggu dengan jumlah peserta maksimal 10 orang. Metode Service Learning (SL) dalam pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan ibu hamil terkait ketidaknyamanan pada kehamilan trimester II beserta penanganannya. Hasil dari pengabdian masayarakat ini bahwa pelaksanaan kelas ibu hamil bermanfaat dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan ibu hal ini sesuai dengan tujuan dari dibentuknya kelas ibu hamil yaitu meningkatkan pengetahuan, merubah sikap dan perilaku ibu agar memahami tentang kehamilan, perubahan tubuh dan keluhan selama kehamilan perawatan kehamilan. Abstract

Increasingly advanced technology has made it easier to access various aspects, including the culture of various countries, which makes it possible to exchange information and adopt technology and knowledge from these countries. Language plays an important role in supporting this. Language skills can be instilled from an early age, especially in children aged between 6-10 years, which is an important period for their intellectual and personality development. At this age, children's brains have the ability to absorb information quickly, especially things that are interesting to them, including in the context of language learning. This research aims to explore the effectiveness of Arabic language learning methods in the learning process of students at the Diniyah Awaliyah Madrasah. This research uses qualitative research, with data collection through interviews, observation and documentation. The research results showed that the three learning methods used (hifdzil method, game method, and singing method) were proven to be effective in increasing children's knowledge. This is reflected in students' ability to memorize vocabulary, their ability to pronounce Arabic letters fluently, increased memory, and their ability to be creative. This method can also motivate students to learn more.

Abstract

Socialization is an important method in the educational process, where the aim is to provide an understanding of a concept or practice to individuals or community groups. One example of relevant socialization is regarding the importance of saving in financial management. Saving is an activity that involves setting aside a certain amount of money over a certain period of time for future use. The importance of understanding finances does not only apply to adults or parents, but is also important for young children. Therefore, it is important to provide understanding and form good habits from an early age that can be useful in the future. The aim of this savings socialization activity is to train elementary school children in setting aside money for savings. The participants in this activity were children from Osiloa Tarus Elementary School aged between nine and ten years. The main strategy in this activity is to provide understanding about saving to young children. In this learning process, we use intermediary media, such as piggy banks, to train children's knowledge and creativity. It is hoped that conveying knowledge about saving combined with activities involving creativity will facilitate children's understanding of this concept.

Abstract

The Nyadran Tradition in Silawan Hamlet, Kutorojo Village, Kajen Sub-district, Pekalongan Regency reflects the harmony between Islamic values and Javanese culture. This study aims to explore the Nyadran practice as a case study representing a creative adaptation to changing times and social solidarity in rural communities. A qualitative approach is employed, focusing on a case study, involving participatory observation and in-depth interviews. The research findings indicate that Nyadran is not merely a ritual of honoring ancestors but also an expression of the cultural richness and spirituality within the community. The harmonious integration of Islamic elements with local Javanese traditions not only strengthens religious and cultural identities but also enhances social solidarity and the values of mutual cooperation. Thus, Nyadran serves not only as a valuable symbol of cultural diversity but also enriches the understanding of the harmony between local traditions and religions in the lives of rural communities in Indonesia.
