Abstract

Pediculosis  capitis  adalah  gangguan  yang  disebabkan  oleh  infestasi  Pediculus humanus  capitis. Biji sirsak dapat berpotensi sebagai pedikulisida. Kandungan senyawa aktif dalam biji sirsak ini adalah Acetogenin, Annonain ,Flavonoid, dan Squamosin. Eksperimen ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas ekstrak biji sirsak sebagai pedikulisida. Penelitian ini bersifat eksperimental yang dilakukan pada bulan maret-juni 2017 di Laboratorium Parasitology Poltekkes Kemenkes Surabaya. Penelitian ini menggunakan sampel berupa kutu kepala sebanyak 160 ekor dengan masing masing kelompok 5 ekor kutu kepala yang diberikan perlakuan dengan menyemprotkan ekstrak biji sirsak dengan konsentrasi 10%, 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, dan 100%. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa konsentrasi paling efektif ialah 100% dalam waktu 10 menit, dan konsentrasi minimum adalah 10% dan 20% dalam waktu 50 menit.

Abstract

Salmonelosis is a disease caused by the Salmonella sp. that causes a decrease in CD4+ expression. Black grape can boost the immune system through CD4+/CD8+ proliferation. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the activity of black grape extract to CD4+ and CD8+ expression in mice infected with Salmonella typhimurium. Research method is extract of black grapes, Salmonella typhimurium 108 infection, bacterial evaluation, extract therapy, flowcytometery examination, and 95% Anova test. The results of Anova test showed that the expression of CD4+ and CD8+ is not different. Biologically, an increase in CD4+ and CD8+ expression at doses of 100 mg/KgBB. A decrease in CD4+ and CD8+ expression at doses of 200 mg/KgBB and 400 mg/KgBB. Conclusion, biologically, black grape extract can increase the expression of CD4+ and CD8+ at low doses, as well as may decrease the expression of CD4+ and CD8+ at moderate to high doses.

Abstract

Salmonella Merupakan bakteri gram negatif berbentuk batang, dan memiliki flagela. Nama Penyakit yang disebabkan oleh bakteri Salmonella adalah salmonellosis yang menyebabkan demam tifoid. Salmonellosis dapat ditularkan melalui makanan dan minuman. Tujuan dari pengabdian masyarakat adalah untuk menggalakkan kesehatan pencegahan infeksi salmonella typhi di masyarakat untuk mengurangi penyakit yang disebabkan oleh bakteri Salmonella typhi. Metode pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah dengan memberikan materi kepada masyarakat terkait penyakit tipus yang disebabkan oleh infeksi Salmonella typhi dan melihat masukan dari masyarakat. Hasil yang diperoleh dari pengabdian masyarakat dukungan masyarakat untuk demam tifoid yaitu dengan cara menjaga kebersihan lingkungan, Menjaga imunitas, menjaga kebersihan makanan, dan mencuci tangan sebelum makan. Kesimpulan dari pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah adanya pemahaman masyarakat baik dalam pencegahan penyakit tifoid yang disebabkan oleh bakteri Salmonella typhi.

Abstract

Typhoid fever is a common health problem in the community caused by Salmonella bacteria. The incidence rate of this infection will increase if a person's immune system is weakened. Plant extracts are generally considered to be potential immunomodulatory agents developed, which have smaller side effects. Research shows that Cnidoscolus aconitifolius leaves have medicinal properties including as hepatoprotective, antidiabetic, and anticardiovascular. The results of the antioxidant activity test show the results that Cnidoscolus aconitifolius leaves extract (CAE) has potential as an antioxidant with a very strong category. This study was conducted to determine the effect of giving Japanese papaya leaf extract on CD4+ and CD8+ expression in Babl/c mice induced by Salmonella typhimurium bacteria. The study was started by preparing 70% ethanol extract from Cnidoscolus aconitifolius leaves and preparing 30 Babl/C mice as experimental animals which were divided into 6 groups (healthy control, negative control, positive control and treatment group by giving CAE dose of 100 mg/kgbw, 200 mg/kgbw and 400 mg/kgbw). Induction was carried out by oral infection with Salmonella thypimurium bacteria. After 3 days the infected mice were treated orally once a day for 7 days. Evaluation of CD4+ and CD8+ expression was carried out using the flowcytometer method of the lymph organs. Data analysis was carried out by the Anova test followed by the post hoc test (Tukey) using the SPSS for Windows application. The results showed that giving CAE at doses of 100 mg/kgbw, 200 mg/kgbw and 400 mg/kgbw could increase the expression ratio of CD4+ and CD8+, whereas giving CAE at a dose of 400 mg/kgbw showed significantly different results (p<0.05) to the negative control. This shows that the CAE has potential as an immunomodulatory agent that can improve immune function.

Abstract

Giemsa staining is a microscopic staining technique that aims to identify the morphology of leukocyte cell types. One of the methods that uses giemsa staining is the method of examining peripheral blood smear preparations which aims to evaluate the calculation of leukocyte type. The dyeing quality of giemsa is greatly influenced by the type of diluent material, namely buffer and aquadest. This study aims to determine the morphological picture of neutrophil cells in giema staining with time variations in aquadest diluent solution. The method of this study was to take blood from adults aged 20-25 years and had no history of illness as many as 24 samples. It was divided into 2 dilution groups, namely pH buffer 6.8 and aquadest, where each dilution was divided into 4 groups, namely group 1 soaking the peripheral blood smear preparation for 10 minutes, group 2 soaking the peripheral blood smear preparation for 20 minutes, group 3 soaking the peripheral blood smear preparation for 30 minutes, group 4 soaking the peripheral blood smear preparation for 40 minutes. Then a qualitative analysis was carried out, namely by comparing the background of the preparation and the morphology of neutrophil cells microscopically in each group. The results of this study are that microscopically groups 1 and 2 have a clear preparation background, while in groups 3 and 4 the preparation background is dirty and there are neutrophil granules and morphology in groups 1 and 2 show dark blue neutropnhil cells, groups 3 and 4 show purple and bluish-purple neutrophil cells. The conclusion of this study is based on the background of the preparation, and the morphology of neutrophil cells, the group that has the best results is groups 1 and 2. Abstract

This community service activity is a form of effort to support the government program "Healthy Communities that are Independent and Just. The target subjects for partners in this community service activity are the people in Kamal Village, Arjasa District, and Jember Regency. Preliminary studies have been carried out and show that the incidence rate in the village is very high. Thus, health checks and health promotion in an effort to control blood sugar levels through the use of natural germplasm are very necessary. The health checks that will be carried out include random blood sugar checks (GDS). The education provided can include understanding the causes, signs and symptoms, risk factors, and types of healthy nutrition to prevent and control complications of diabetes mellitus. Early screening can be done by carrying out laboratory examinations in the community. After the examination, it was discovered that some people experienced hyperglycemia and some experienced hypoglycemia. Through this activity, the public can understand the material presented and can find out their health status so that early prevention can be carried out.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic is affecting global health issues. The interaction between Covid-19 patients and Tuberculosis makes it the number one cause of death worldwide. Numerous deaths caused by Covid-19 are reported every day in Indonesia, leading to a reduced number of TB patients who require routine treatment to health services in the community. Therefore, this review aimed to identify challenges in treatment services for TB patients during the Covid-19 pandemic. The study design used was a systematic review to identify the challenges in treatment services for TB patients during the Covid-19 pandemic. The challenges are a low-capacity health system, lack of knowledge about health, less-optimum treatment for TB patients due to social restrictions, limited regular visits to health services, and low TB case detection. To prevent negative impacts in reduced treatment for TB patients, telemedicine can be used, proper knowledge can be provided through social media, and consistent policies can be implemented to strengthen the weakening health system.

Abstract

Indonesia merupakan salah satu negara dengan tingkat kematian tertinggi akibat penyakit tidak menular yang disebabkan oleh penyakit terkait metainflamasi terutama untuk penyakit diabetes melitus, hipertensi dan jantung koroner. Kontributor utama terjadinya penyakit tidak menular terkait metainflamasi adalah pola hidup yang tidak sehat seperti kebiasaan pola makan dengan konsumsi lemak dan glukosa berlebih, aktivitas fisik yang kurang, stres, dan pencemaran lingkungan. Masyarakat dengan resiko tinggi tentunya memerlukan skrining dini dan pengetahuan yang memadai tentang penyakit terkait metainflamasi. Skrining dan peningkatan pengetahuan tersebut dapat dilakukan oleh tenaga laboratorium dengan pemeriksaan laboratorium dan penyuluhan kesehatan. Tujuan pengabdian masayarakat ini adalah untuk skrining dini serta peningkatan pengetahuan untuk mencegah penyakit terkait meta-inflamasi. Metode pelaksanaan pengabdian masyarakat ini terdiri dari tiga tahap yaitu tahap persiapan, pelaksaanaan, dan evaluasi. Pada tahap pelaksanaan dilakukan pemeriksaan kadar gula darah sewaktu dan kolestrol total serta edukasi terkait penyakit meta-inflamasi. Hasil pengabdian masyarakat, masyarakat telah memperoleh status kesehatan melalui pemeriksaan laboratorium serta pengetahuan yang baik tentang penyakit meta-inflamasi.

Abstract

Salmonellosis is caused by infection with the bacterium Salmonella sp. which causes immune dysregulation and damage to digestive epithelial cells. So there is a need to increase immunity to fight Salmonella sp. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of telang flower infusion on the number of Nuetrophophil cells and Lomfosyte cells on Salmonella typhimurium infection. The study was divided into 6 groups, negative, positive, Stimuno (0.26ml/20gBB), therapy 1 (0.25 ml/20gBB), therapy 2 (0.5 ml/20gBB), therapy 3 (1 ml/20gBB). Infusion making, Bacterial infection, infusa therapy, Giemsa staining, and 95% p-value data analysis. The results showed that there was a significant difference in the number of neutrophil cells in each group (p<0.05). Meanwhile, the number of lymphocytes after the anova test showed a significant increase in the number of lymphocytes (0.00<0.05). The conclusion of this study is that the infusion of telang flowers from low to high doses has an effect on increasing the number of neutrophil cells and lymphocyte cells
