The term community service refers to activities that utilize relevant science and technology to advance the welfare of the community and educate the nations life. This journal publishes articles with topics such as theoretical innovations or methods or strategies for implementing community service activities, community service management innovations, university-community partnership strengthening programs, as well as other topics related to the impact and best practices in the implementation of community service to society. Praxis accepts article submissions from all over the world. All accepted articles will be published for payment of an article processing fee, and will be available free of charge to all readers with worldwide visibility and coverage. Praxis accepts article manuscripts with the following types Research Article: contains a quantitative, qualitative, or combination method study that shows the impact of community service projects on local communities, students, lecturers, or institutions. Reflective Essays contain sharp reflections on current issues or ideas related to community service based on literature. Projects with Prospects contains a description of the early stages of a community service project with an initial indication of its impact long-term evaluation plan a plan for how the project will remain sustainable; and best practices for readers to emulate. Book Reviews contains reviews of books related to community service which are more than just content descriptions, in order to analyze and extract their implications for theory and practice.

Abstract

Increasingly advanced technology has made it easier to access various aspects, including the culture of various countries, which makes it possible to exchange information and adopt technology and knowledge from these countries. Language plays an important role in supporting this. Language skills can be instilled from an early age, especially in children aged between 6-10 years, which is an important period for their intellectual and personality development. At this age, children's brains have the ability to absorb information quickly, especially things that are interesting to them, including in the context of language learning. This research aims to explore the effectiveness of Arabic language learning methods in the learning process of students at the Diniyah Awaliyah Madrasah. This research uses qualitative research, with data collection through interviews, observation and documentation. The research results showed that the three learning methods used (hifdzil method, game method, and singing method) were proven to be effective in increasing children's knowledge. This is reflected in students' ability to memorize vocabulary, their ability to pronounce Arabic letters fluently, increased memory, and their ability to be creative. This method can also motivate students to learn more.

Abstract

Socialization is an important method in the educational process, where the aim is to provide an understanding of a concept or practice to individuals or community groups. One example of relevant socialization is regarding the importance of saving in financial management. Saving is an activity that involves setting aside a certain amount of money over a certain period of time for future use. The importance of understanding finances does not only apply to adults or parents, but is also important for young children. Therefore, it is important to provide understanding and form good habits from an early age that can be useful in the future. The aim of this savings socialization activity is to train elementary school children in setting aside money for savings. The participants in this activity were children from Osiloa Tarus Elementary School aged between nine and ten years. The main strategy in this activity is to provide understanding about saving to young children. In this learning process, we use intermediary media, such as piggy banks, to train children's knowledge and creativity. It is hoped that conveying knowledge about saving combined with activities involving creativity will facilitate children's understanding of this concept.

Abstract

The Nyadran Tradition in Silawan Hamlet, Kutorojo Village, Kajen Sub-district, Pekalongan Regency reflects the harmony between Islamic values and Javanese culture. This study aims to explore the Nyadran practice as a case study representing a creative adaptation to changing times and social solidarity in rural communities. A qualitative approach is employed, focusing on a case study, involving participatory observation and in-depth interviews. The research findings indicate that Nyadran is not merely a ritual of honoring ancestors but also an expression of the cultural richness and spirituality within the community. The harmonious integration of Islamic elements with local Javanese traditions not only strengthens religious and cultural identities but also enhances social solidarity and the values of mutual cooperation. Thus, Nyadran serves not only as a valuable symbol of cultural diversity but also enriches the understanding of the harmony between local traditions and religions in the lives of rural communities in Indonesia.

Abstract

Teachers need to understand that identifying learner development is an integral part of the teacher's duties as an educator. By doing this assistance, teachers can prepare themselves professionally to face the challenges of teaching in the classroom. A professional teacher is one who can identify and respond to the needs and developmental levels of each learner. By mentoring the identification of learner development, teachers can develop this ability early on. Identifying learner development allows teachers to design learning that suits the needs and developmental levels of learners. The training method used involves a participatory approach with direct observation, interviews with principals, teachers and students, and filling out questionnaires in the form of guidelines in identifying the development of students based on their developmental aspects. Thus, this mentoring contributes to improving the quality of learning in the classroom. Learner development identification also enables teachers to help learners recognize and understand their abilities and potential. This can increase learners' motivation and self-confidence. By prioritizing learner development identification mentoring for teachers, we can ensure that teachers are ready to be effective, responsive educators who can positively impact the development of their learners.

Abstract

Learning media is the empowerment of all instruments created to make it easier for teachers to convey learning material and students to understand learning concepts. This service activity aims to increase students' interest in learning by implementing Calistung learning media. This activity was carried out at SD Negeri 1 Kereng Bangkirai, Palangkaraya City and MIS Fathul Iman Palangkaraya and was attended by teachers and students. The result of this activity is that there is an increase in students' interest in learning when applying Calistung learning media in class, which is marked by increased student enthusiasm during the learning process.

Abstract

Desa Seletreng merupakan salah satu bagian dari Kecamatan Kapongan Kabupaten Situbondo yang memiliki geografis berupa pesisir pantai. Kondisi wilayah yang berbatasan langsung dengan laut tentu membuat wilayah ini mendapatkan limpahan hasil laut yang salah satunya adalah kerang. Pemanfaatan kerang yang dilakukan warga hanya sebatas diambil dagingnya untuk konsumsi sehari-hari. Hal tersebut kemudian menimbulkan adanya tumpukan kulit kerang karena hanya diambil dagingnya. Solusi yang dapat diambil guna mengurangi tumpukan kulit kerang, yaitu dengan melakukan pembuatan kerajinan yang disertai dengan upaya pelatihan maupun pendampingan kepada warga. Tujuan utama dilakukannya kegiatan pengabdian ini pada dasarnya untuk mencari penyelesaian atas masalah yang berkenaan dengan limbah kulit kerang. Metode yang diterapkan adalah Participatory Action Learning System, dimana para warga yang telah menjadi sasaran pengabdian dapat berpartisipasi secara langsung guna menjalankan pelatihan sampai penerapan. Pelatihan yang dilakukan berupa pembuatan kerajinan hingga pemasaran. Hasil yang dapat dicapai berupa produk kerajinan berbahan limbah kerang maupun pemasaran produk tersebut.

Abstract

Kampanye budaya "Nusantara Bermain" adalah inisiatif pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang bertujuan menghidupkan kembali permainan tradisional dan lagu daerah Indonesia di kalangan generasi muda. Dengan latar belakang kurangnya pemahaman generasi muda terhadap budaya lokal, kegiatan ini mengajak mereka untuk lebih mengenal dan mencintai warisan budaya Indonesia sebagai upaya menjaga kelestarian budaya. Hasil kampanye ini menunjukkan partisipasi aktif generasi muda, antusiasme peserta, dan peningkatan pemahaman nilai-nilai budaya tradisional. Harapan dari kegiatan ini adalah agar generasi muda terus mengembangkan rasa cinta dan kebanggaan terhadap budaya lokal serta menjaga warisan budaya Indonesia melalui partisipasi aktif dalam kegiatan serupa di masa mendatang.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkarakterisasi kemampuan berpikir kritis matematika siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah terkait persamaan linear. Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa yang terlihat dari hasil tes yang menunjukkan skor sangat rendah pada indikator-indikator seperti interpretasi, analisis, evaluasi, dan inferensi. Subjek penelitian adalah 25 siswa kelas XI SMA NEGERI 4 Sungai Penuh selama tahun akademik 2023-2024. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif dengan alat pengumpulan data berupa tes esai dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan berpikir kritis matematika siswa sangat rendah, dengan skor rata-rata pada setiap indikator sebagai berikut: interpretasi 19%, analisis 14%, evaluasi 12,5%, dan inferensi 5,5%. Faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis ini antara lain kurangnya pemahaman materi, kesalahan dalam menginterpretasi soal, serta ketidakmampuan dalam mengidentifikasi dan mengevaluasi solusi. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa siswa kelas XI SMA NEGERI 4 Sungai Penuh Aladdin memiliki kemampuan berpikir kritis yang sangat rendah dalam menyelesaikan masalah persamaan linear. Untuk meningkatkan kemampuan ini, diperlukan peningkatan latihan dan metode pengajaran yang lebih efektif.

Abstract

Pendampingan UMKM di Desa Kedungbendo dalam pembuatan Nomor Induk Berusaha (NIB) melalui Online Single Submission (OSS). UMKM memiliki peranan penting dalam pertumbuhan ekonomi, namun keberadaannya memerlukan legalitas usaha yang termasuk izin perizinan. Dalam konteks ini, NIB menjadi identitas penting bagi pelaku usaha. Artikel ini menjelaskan proses pendampingan pembuatan NIB pada UMKM Bakso Campur di Desa Kedungbendo. Melalui tahapan sosialisasi, pendaftaran, dan penyerahan NIB, pendampingan dilakukan untuk memberikan pemahaman dan kemudahan bagi UMKM, survey kondisi, analisis permasalahan, serta implemenasi sosialisasi dan pendampingan langsung. Dengan demikian, UMKM dapat memahami dan memanfaatkan OSS untuk memperoleh NIB dengan lebih mudah, mendukung perkembangan usaha mereka secara legal.

Abstract

Coffee is one of the most popular plantation products. Indonesia is the fourth largest country as the largest coffee producer in the world. One of the coffee producing areas in Indonesia is Kalipucang Village, which is located on the slopes of Mount Bromo in East Java. The coffee bean processing process generally produces several by-products. Coffee skin is one of the by-products of the coffee processing process to become coffee beans that are ready for consumption. Generally, coffee skins are not used because they do not have a selling value like coffee beans. To increase the selling value of the by- product in the form of coffee skin, the coffee skin is used as an organic fertilizer. The main method used in making this organic fertilizer is fermentation at room temperature and anaerobes condition. This organic fertilizer product can be used for various plant.
