Abstract

Background. The purpose of the research was to study the effect of carrier and Hibiscus tiliaceus flower extract on VFA and N-NH3 rumen production of local sheep. Materials and Methods. The feed ingredients used were rice straw ammoniation and concentrate with dry matter ratio of 40:60. The method used experiment designed according to completely randomized design (CRD) of Factorial pattern of 2x3. There were two factors used in this research. The first factor was the carrier of rice bran (DP) and tofu byproduct (AT). The second factor were the three dosage of extract. Thereore, there were six combination used as treatments. Results. The results showed that there was an interaction tendency (P<0,057) between Hibiscus tiliaceus flower extract and carrier on VFA production. However it was not significant effect (P>0,05) on N-NH3 production. Both carrier and dousage had significant effect (P<0,05) on VFA levels, while, N-NH3 did not effect (P>0,05). Orthoghonal polynomial test showed that increasing of Hibiscus tiliaceus extract caused enhancing of VFA production quadratically and the highest VFA production achieved at 60 ppm with rice bran as carrier. Conclusion. The dosage of 60 ppm of Hibiscus tiliaceus extract with rice bran carrier produced highest of VFA production.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to investigate the effect of the best salam leaves (Eugenia Polyantha) concentration in salted eggs on the yolk index, albumen index, and the weight decrease of egg. One hundred unit eggs of commercial layer chicken, was used in this experiment with the design Complete Randomized Design (CRD), as the treatment namely concentration of salam leaves PO (20% salt), P1 (250 gr + 20% salt), P2 (500 gr + 20% salt), P3 (750 gr + 20% salt) and each treatment was four replicated. Yolk index, albumen index, and the weight decrease of egg was used as variabel measured. The result of variance analysis shown that salam leaves (Eugenia Polyantha) concentration no significant effect (>0,05) on the yolk index, albumen index, and the weight decrease of the egg. The conclusion that salam leaves concentration until 750 gr produced salted egg with yolk index, albumen index, and the weight decrease of egg similar.

Abstract

Latar belakang. Studi Perbandingan Konformitas Berdasarkan Jumlah Anggota dan Lama Berdirinya Kelompok Peternak Sapi Potong di Kecamatan Kedungbanteng. Penelitian telah dilaksanakan pada tanggal 18 Juni 2018 sampai 3 Juli 2018, bertempat di Kecamatan Kedungbanteng, Kabupaten Banyumas Jawa Tengah. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui konformitas kelompok, jumlah anggota dan lama berdirinya kelompok peternak sapi potong di Kecamatan Kedungbanteng serta menganalisis perbandingan konformitas berdasarkan jumlah anggota dan lama berdirinya kelompok peternak sapi potong di Kecamatan Kedungbanteng. Materi dan metode. Metode penelitian yang digunakan merupakan metode survei. Penetapan sampel wilayah dilakukan dengan metode purposive sampling yaitu dengan mengambil desa dengan populasi sapi potong yang lebih banyak dari desa lain yaitu Desa Kebocoran, Desa Kutaliman, Desa Windujaya dan Desa Kalisalak. Pengambilan sampel kelompok dilakukan dengan metode sensus yaitu kelompok peternak Maju Sentosa, Sakeco, Lembu Jaya dan Sido Mulyo. Total responden berjumlah 60 orang. Analisis yang digunakan yaitu Analisis Deskriptif dan Uji Mann Whitney. Hasil. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa konformitas kelompok Maju Sentosa dan Sakeco tergolong sangat konform sedangkan konformitas kelompok Sido Multo dan Lembu Jaya tergolong cukup konform. Simpulan. Terdapat perbedaan konformitas berdasarkan jumlah anggota yang signifikan antar kelompok kecuali kelompok dengan selisih jumlah anggota satu. Kedua terdapat perbedaan yang konformitas berdasarkan lama berdirinya kelompok yang signifikan.

Abstract

Backgrounds. "Analysis of Factors Associated with Chicken Egg Consumption Levels in Elementary Students in Kramat Subdistrict, Tegal Regency" was held on July 17, 2018 - August 1 2018. This study aims to: 1) Know the factors (preference or taste, parents income, parents knowledge of nutrition, and information access to parents amongs elementary students in Kramat Subdistrict, Tegal, and 2) analyse association between preference or taste, parents income, parents knowledge of nutrition, and information access to parents with chicken egg consumption levels amongs elementary students in Kramat Subdistrict, Tegal. Materials and Methodes. This study using a survey method and targeting 6th grade elementary school students who consumed chicken eggs in Kramat Tegal Subdistrict. Study was conducted in 3 selected elementary schools (Maribaya 01 Elementary School, Munjung Agung Elementary School, and West Mejasem Elementary School 03) using Stratified Random Sampling method. Sampling was using purposive sampling method in Kramat District, Tegal. The analysis of this study using Spearman Rank correlation analysis. Results. The results showed that the preference or taste variables included in the high category, the variable parents knowledge of nutrition and the access information variables of parents in the medium category, and the variable income of parents is low category. Conclusions. The results of the Rank Spearman correlation analysis showed that the preference or taste variables and parents income were positively related to the level of consumption of chicken eggs, while the variable knowledge of parental nutrition and access to parental information were not significantly related to the level of consumption of chicken eggs in elementary students in Kramat Subdistrict, Tegal.
