Abstract

Background. The study entitled "Concentration of VFA and N-NH3 Mini Elephant Grass (Pennisetum Purpureum Cv. Mott) Fertilized Organic and NPK in Vitro" was carried out on August 1 to September 7, 2019 at the Experimental Farm and Laboratory of Animal Food Sciences, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, University Jenderal Soedirman, Purwokerto. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of providing optimum levels of combination of manure and NPK in terms of VFA and N-NH3 concentrations of mini elephant grass. Materials and Methods. The material used in this research is the fifth mini elephant defoliation grass plant which was originally planted on a total land area of 278 m2 with the area of each plot or unit is 5 m2 and a spacing of 0.75 mx 0.35 m so that it takes 720 mini elephant grass cuttings or 20 cuttings / unit, 270 kg of manure, 2.5 kg of NPK fertilizer. The method used is factorial pattern experiments with randomized group design. The first factor is manure (O) consisting of O0: manure 0 kg / 5m2, O1: manure 7.5 kg / 5m2, O2: manure 15 kg / 5m2 and the second factor is NPK fertilizer (N) consisting from N0: NPK fertilizer 0 g / 5m2, N1: NPK fertilizer 37.5 g / 5m2, N2: NPK fertilizer 75 g / 5m2 and M3: NPK fertilizer 112.5 g / 5m2. The variables measured were the fifth VFA and N-NH3 content of mini defoliation elephant grass. Results. The results of the analysis of variance showed that the interaction between the combination of manure and NPK had no significant effect (P> 0.05), but NPK had a significant effect (P <0.05) on the VFA content and had a significant effect (P <0.05) on the content of N-NH3 mini elephant grass. Conclusion. The single effect of NPK fertilizer can significantly increase VFA and N-NH3 content. The interaction treatment of manure and NPK did not have a significant effect on the VFA and N-NH3 content of mini elephant grass.

Abstract

Background. The purpose of this study are to determine the prevalence of coccidiosis, to know the species of Eimeria, and to find out the difference in the prevalence of coccidiosis in various age rabbits in Kalibagor Subdistrict Banyumas Regency. Materials and methods. The targets of this study is various types of rabbits in Kalibagor Subdistrict Banyumas Regency at three periods, namely weaning (1-5 weeks), growing (6-24 weeks), and adult (>24 weeks) with a minimum 3 rabbit of each farmer. The method used was a survey method using purposive sampling. Data analysis was performed using descriptive and chi square methods. The samples used for this study were rabbit's faeces as much as 5 grams per animal in the weaning period as many as 31 , 31 growing, and 31 adult. Result. The results of the analysis show that the species of Eimeria identified as infecting rabbits includes Eimeria magna, Eimeria perforans, Eimeria flavescens, Eimeria intestinalis, Eimeria exigua, Eimeria media, Eimeria coecicola, and Eimeria stiedae. The prevalence of coccidiosis in rabbits weaning period was 29,03%, the growing was 31,18%, and the adult was 29,03% and the total prevalence of coccidiosis were 89,24%. P>0,05 shows that there are no difference in the prevalence of coccidiosis in rabbits of various ages in Kalibagor Subdistrict Banyumas Regency. Conclusion. The conlusion of this study is that the prevalence of coccidiosis was noy significantly different in rabbits in weaning, growing, and adult period.

Abstract

Background. The purpose of this research was to determine the age factor of livestock production, forage feed, concentrate feed, enclosure density, medicines, bulk working hours, vitamins and minerals and PBBH Pasundan cattle and manalyze the effect of factors of production on PBBH Pasundan cattle in Kuningan Regency. Materials and methods. The object of research is 66 Pasundan bulls spread in 3 districts, namely; Cibingbin District (21 individuals), Maleber District (14 individuals) and Cimahi District (31). Retrieval of data using survey methods with questionnaire aids. Determination of the research area using purposive sampling method, while the determination of research objects using accidental sampling. The research variables observed were;(1) livestock age, (2) forage feed, (3) concentrate feed, (4) enclosure density, (5) medicines, (6) hours of work, (7) vitamins and minerals, (8) ADG. Results. Research result shows that the production factor influences 55.99% of the PBB Pasundan Cow. Together, the factors of production have a high significant effect on PBBH (F Hit <0.01). Partially the forage production factor, enclosure density, hours of work, vitamins and minerals have no significant effect on the ADG of Pasundan cattle. Conclusion. The conclusions of the study areaverage age of livestock 2.41 years, giving forage 15.95 kg /day/ST, giving concentrate 0.193 kg /day/ST, cage density 4,26 m2 / ST, the cost of medicines, vitamins and minerals Rp 4610.3/day/ST and Rp 846.8/day/ST., pouring out of working hours 1.64 hours/day/ST, and average of ADG is 0.32 kg/day/ST. ADG of Pasundan cattle are affected by age of livestock, concentrated feed and medicines.

Abstract

Background. The research was conducted with the aim of knowing the use of vegetable pectin with different percentages of the color and texture of cow's milk yogurt sensoryly. Materials and methods. The material used is 5 liters of cow's milk cow milk from BBPTU-HPT Baturraden, Yogourmet dried yogurt starter, skim milk and 10 grams of vegetable pectin. The research method was an experiment with a randomized block design (RBD), with 4 treatments, with a total of 30 panelists. Results. The results showed that the use of pectin with different percentages in making cow's milk yogurt significantly affected the color of yogurt (P <0.01) and the texture of yogurt also had a very significant effect (P <0.01). The use of pectin with different percentages in the manufacture of cow's milk yogurt has a color average of P0: 0.58, P1: 0.40, P2: -0.406, P3: -049, P4: -0.35. The use of vegetable pectin with different percentages in making cow's milk yogurt has a mean texture of PO: -0.52, P1: 0.33, P2: -0.17, P3: 0.29, P4: 0.73. Conclusion. The use of pectin up to 0.8% in making yogurt increases the yellowish color and increasingly thick texture.

Abstract

Background. Research entitled "Concentrated Substitution with Snail Flour In Laying Commercial Chicken Feed On Weight And Thick Eggshell". The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of substitution of concentrate with conch flour on the weight and thickness of laying commercial chicken shells. Materials and methods. The research material consisted of 80 commercial laying hens. The feed ingredients used are concentrates, conch flour, corn and bran. The study was conducted experimentally using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD), with 4 treatments and 5 replications, each repetition consisted of 4 laying hens. The treatments consisted of R0: Basal feed without conch flour substitution, R1: Basal feed with 5% conch flour substitution, R2: Basal feed with 10% conch flour substitution, R3: Basal feed with 15% conch flour substitution. Results. The results of the average eggshell weight of the treatments R0, R1, R2, R3 are 7.14; 6.45; 6.87; 6.90 and eggshell thickness is 0.27; 0.26; 0.26; 0.27. Based on the results of the study that the substitution of conch flour has no significant effect (P> 0.05) on the weight and thickness of egg laying hens. Conclusion. The substitution of concentrate with conch flour in laying commercial chicken feed up to 15% resulting in relatively equal quality weight and thickness of egg laying hens.
