Abstract

Psychological and behavioral elements are playing an increasingly prominent role in individual decisions to invest in the stock market. However, understanding how these factors shape investment intentions within specific regional environments remains limited. This study explores the role of attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control in influencing stock investment intentions among individual investors in East Java, using the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) as its theoretical basis. A total of 353 participants were randomly selected from the Beginner Stock Investor (ISP) community across 13 regions in East Java. Data was collected using an online survey, and the results were analyzed using multiple linear regression. The research findings show that attitude, subjective norms, and behavioral control variables have a positive and significant influence on investment intentions, both independently and collectively. At the individual level, the t-values for attitudes (7.070), subjective norms (3.886), and behavioral control (10.945) all exceeded the threshold of 1.967. The model accounts for 53.3% of the variance in investment intentions, indicating that other relevant factors lie outside the model’s explanatory range. These results reinforce the applicability of TPB in financial behavior studies and offer practical implications for policymakers and investment educators working to improve participation in emerging stock markets.

Abstract

Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah (RSUD) Meuraxa in Mibo is a Badan Layanan Umum Daerah (BLUD). Meuraxa Hospital is obliged to provide comfort and safety for patients. As a BLUD, almost all of its operational costs are sourced from the hospital's own revenue. The hospital building has a variety of ages, and the oldest has been operating for more than 17 years. Therefore, the reliability of the building began to decrease, and there were even building components in a damaged state. Even so, the standardization of hospital performance indicators in 2019 requires that hospital facilities and infrastructure are always in 100% condition. This can be realized by building buildings according to standards and carrying out building maintenance periodically/routinely.  Determining the extent of building damage in compliance with norms and regulations is the aim of the investigation (Peraturan Menteri Pekerjaan Umum Nomor: 24/PRT/M/2008). The method used is to conduct a field observation of building damage. The results of observation of the existing condition of emergency and intensive service building infrastructure obtained a building damage intensity of 1.32%. This condition is included in the category of light maintenance, which is ≤ 35% of the cost of building a new one. Damage is predominant to non-structural components.

Abstract

This study explores the geometric concepts embedded in Kaddo’ Masingkulu, a triangular-shaped traditional cake rooted in Bugis-Makassar culture, and its potential in supporting Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) through an ethnomathematical lens. The research aims to (1) examine the flat shape properties reflected in Kaddo’ Masingkulu and (2) analyze the integration of Bugis-Makassar cultural elements into mathematics teaching to enhance conceptual understanding and cultural awareness. Employing a qualitative exploratory case study design, data were collected from 2 teachers, 10 students, and 2 cultural practitioners in an elementary school in Takalar Regency, using interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis. Thematic analysis revealed that the triangle in Kaddo’ Masingkulu carries both mathematical and symbolic meanings-representing harmony among humans, nature, and the divine. Students demonstrated improved understanding of flat shapes, including triangles, parallelograms, and trapezoids, by engaging with culturally familiar contexts. Teachers utilized visual, narrative, and project-based strategies to connect geometry content with students' everyday experiences. The integration of ethnomathematical content not only reduced misconceptions in geometry but also promoted student motivation and confidence. The study concludes that leveraging local cultural artifacts such as Kaddo’ Masingkulu enhances the contextualization of abstract mathematical concepts and affirms learners’ cultural identities. These findings imply the need for culturally grounded instructional models in mathematics education and highlight CRT as a viable pedagogical framework for multicultural classrooms.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of branded entertainment series (BES) and non-promotional educational content (NPEC) on positive perceptions and purchase intentions among Generation Z, focusing on TikTok users in the Bandung Raya area. Using a quantitative approach and Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM), this research involved 113 respondents, consisting of Generation Z students actively using the TikTok application. The analysis revealed that BES has a significant positive impact on purchase intentions, although its effect on positive perceptions is relatively smaller. Conversely, NPEC demonstrated a stronger influence on positive perceptions and was also significant in affecting purchase intentions. These findings indicate that while BES effectively increases purchase intentions, NPEC plays a more significant role in shaping positive brand perceptions, ultimately influencing consumer purchase decisions. Positive perceptions were found to mediate the relationship between BES, NPEC, and purchase intentions, confirming the importance of building a good brand image as a preliminary step to influencing purchasing decisions. This study provides valuable insights for marketers in designing more effective marketing strategies, especially on social media platforms like TikTok, which are highly popular among Generation Z. By understanding the impact of BES and NPEC, brands can more accurately choose the content strategies to build stronger and more authentic relationships with young audiences.

Abstract

This study investigates the surge in global electric vehicle (EV) adoption from 2010 to 2024 by utilizing Power BI as a data visualization tool. The research problem centers on the lack of integrated, real-time visual analysis that captures temporal trends, regional disparities, and powertrain diversity within EV markets—particularly in developing countries. Using a descriptive quantitative method, this study employed four main stages: data collection, processing, visualization, and interpretation. Data was sourced from the Kaggle platform and processed using Power BI’s star-schema model. The result is an interactive dashboard that allows users to explore EV data across drivetrain types, parameters (sales, stock, share), regions, and years. The findings highlight a sharp increase in EV sales between 2020 and 2023, with significant adoption in the USA, China, and Europe. Conversely, Southeast Asia, including Indonesia, remains limited by infrastructural and economic challenges. The study demonstrates that BEVs dominate market share, while FCEVs remain in the early adoption stage. By integrating visual elements such as slicers, KPIs, and trend graphs, Power BI enables deeper analysis and informed decision-making. The implications of this study are relevant for policymakers and industry leaders seeking real-time, actionable insights to guide EV adoption strategies in various regions. KEY WORDS: Data Visualization, Electric Vehicles, Power BI, Dashboard, Regional Adoption

Abstract

Cow feces on roads causes damage to asphalt on highways because cow feces contains a large amount of nutrients. The use of Styrofoam in asphalt is expected to improve the technical properties of a mixture. This study aims to determine the Marshall characteristics of asphalt concrete (AC-WC) mixtures with 5%, 7%, and 9% Styrofoam waste additions in 60/70 asphalt against asphalt weight with cow feces immersion for 30 minutes, 24 hours, and 48 hours. The best stability value was obtained with a 5% Styrofoam substitution, which was 1972.55 kg. The parameters for mixtures with and without Styrofoam, including stability, flow, MQ, density, VIM, VMA, and VFA, still meet the specifications of the 2018 Bina Marga standards. The durability value without substitution was 92.64% with ordinary water immersion and 90.80% with cow feces immersion. The durability value with varying Styrofoam percentages 5% was 95.56% and met the specifications set by Bina Marga in 2018, which is ≥ 90%.

Abstract

This study investigated the learning styles of high-achieving postgraduate students, a topic with conflicting findings in existing literature on the relationship between learning styles and academic achievement. Employing a qualitative case study design, the research sought to gain a deeper understanding of this phenomenon by utilizing two distinct instruments. First, the VARK questionnaire was administered to provide a quantitative measure of each participant's sensory preferences. Subsequently, semi-structured interviews were conducted to explore their actual learning strategies and experiences in the specific context of a master's degree program. The findings revealed a compelling divergence: while the questionnaire identified distinct sensory preferences for each participant, their academic practices were not rigidly aligned with these results. Instead, their success appeared to be a product of a strategic and adaptive approach, with a willingness to employ diverse methods like reading and practicing to meet the rigorous demands of their curriculum. This suggests that academic achievement in higher education is less about a fixed learning style and more about a student's capacity for self-regulated, metacognitive adaptation. These results offer a nuanced perspective on the learning style debate, emphasizing the importance of cultivating flexible learning strategies rather than simply diagnosing a single preference.

Abstract

This research examines how Corporate Social Responsibility and Good Corporate Governance contribute to the profitability of food and beverage companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2020 to 2023. A quantitative approach is applied using multiple linear regression with secondary data obtained from annual reports and sustainability reports. CSR performance is evaluated through 91 indicators based on the GRI-G4 framework, while GCG is measured using a 38-item Corporate Governance Index that reflects governance structure and control mechanisms. The results show that CSR does not have a significant impact on profitability, as indicated by a significance value of 0.630. This suggests that CSR programs may require a longer time horizon before contributing to financial outcomes. Meanwhile, GCG exhibits a positive and significant effect on profitability, with a significance value of 0.027, demonstrating that strong governance practices are directly associated with improved financial performance. The F-test result indicates that CSR and GCG do not jointly influence profitability. Furthermore, the R-square value of 0.032 reveals that both variables explain only a small portion of profitability variations. Overall, the findings highlight the stronger short-term role of governance quality compared to CSR within the industry.
