Abstract

This study aims to analyze the increase in the collection of Zakat, Infaq, and Sedekah (ZIS) through transparency and the characteristics of BAZNAS and Amil Zakat Institutions (LAZ) in Indonesia. This study uses data from BAZNAS and LAZ in Indonesia, with a final sample of 410 observations. The sample was selected using a purposive sampling technique. The results indicate that higher levels of transparency have a positive effect on increasing ZIS collection. In addition, institutional characteristics play an important role in increasing ZIS collection. Better institutional characteristics are associated with greater improvements in ZIS collection. The implications of this study are closely related to efforts to enhance ZIS collection through strengthening the characteristics of ZIS management institutions, such as institutional status, organizational type, and operational age, in order to build public trust. Furthermore, ZIS management institutions need to prioritize transparency, particularly through the presentation of annual reports, performance reports, and audited reports, to demonstrate a high level of accountability. The optimization of websites as a medium for transparency also needs to be enhanced to reach a wider range of donors, especially younger generations, in the digital era. However, these findings have several limitations, as the transparency measures used are limited to annual reports, performance reports, audited reports, and websites, and therefore do not cover other aspects of transparency.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a blood bag stock forecasting system at the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) Blood Donor Unit (UDD) of Lhokseumawe City and PMI North Aceh UDD using the Random Forest (RF) algorithm. The background of this research focuses on the imbalance between the demand and availability of blood bags, which can have serious implications for patient safety. Using historical data of 574 records from the period 2022 to 2025, this study adopted a quantitative approach involving variables such as month, year, PMI location, blood type, incoming blood, and blood distribution. The research method included preprocessing and feature engineering steps, which resulted in 17 features for Random Forest (RF) model training. This process was completed with hyperparameter optimization using RandomizedSearchCV to improve model accuracy. The results showed that UDD PMI North Aceh achieved excellent performance with an RMSE of 9.113 for incoming blood and 8.750 for distribution. In contrast, UDD PMI Lhokseumawe had RMSEs of 24,635 and 22,737, respectively. Comprehensive predictions for the period 2025-2030 showed optimistic projections with 94% surplus months and a positive net balance of 4,406.7 bags. The implemented web-based system supports real-time forecasting and strategic decision-making in blood bag stock management at PMI. Keywords: Forecasting; Blood; Transfution; Stock; RF

Abstract

The low level of students’ mathematical creative thinking ability is the main focus of this study. Based on interviews and observations, students were found to have difficulties solving problems that require creative thinking. This research aims to investigate the effect of the Creative Problem Solving (CPS) learning model assisted by Articulate Storyline 3 media on students’ mathematical creative thinking ability. A quantitative approach was used with a quasi-experimental method and Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. The research sample consisted of two seventh-grade classes at SMP Negeri 2 Dewantara, with class VII-A as the experimental group and VII-B as the control group. The instruments included a mathematical creative thinking ability test and observation sheets for both teachers and students. Data analysis was conducted using the Mann Whitney non-parametric test. The results showed that the Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) value was 0.001 0.05, indicating a significant difference between the experimental and control groups. Therefore, the CPS model assisted by Articulate Storyline 3 had a positive impact on improving students’ mathematical creative thinking. The model facilitated students in exploring ideas, thinking in alternatives, and developing open-ended problem-solving strategies, making it a relevant alternative for mathematics learning at the junior high school level.

Abstract

This study aims to improve fine motor abilities in early childhood through structured collage activities as part of a learning intervention. Fine motor skills are essential for early childhood development, particularly in supporting hand–eye coordination, muscle control, and readiness for academic tasks such as writing and drawing. The research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR), conducted in two cycles, each consisting of four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 15 early childhood learners identified as experiencing delays in fine motor development. Data collection techniques included direct observation, documentation, and pre-test and post-test assessments to measure changes in children’s fine motor performance. The results of the study indicate a notable improvement in children’s fine motor abilities after the implementation of collage activities. In the first cycle, only 51.67% of children achieved the categories of “expected development” and “very good development.” After revising the learning strategies and optimizing the use of collage materials in the second cycle, this percentage increased significantly to 83%. The findings demonstrate that collage activities effectively stimulate fine motor muscles, enhance hand–eye coordination, and improve children’s concentration and accuracy in completing tasks. In addition, collage activities contribute positively to children’s creativity, independence, and engagement in learning. Overall, collage activities are proven to be an effective, enjoyable, and easily implemented learning strategy for improving fine motor skills in early childhood education. The study recommends the integration of collage-based activities into daily learning practices to support optimal motor development in young children.

Abstract

Distribution is a vital element of Supply Chain Management (SCM) since it influences the operational costs and service level. CV. APS, a company that distributes Nylon 66 and polyester monofilament for kite string artisans in the districts of Bandung, Sumedang, Tanjungsari, and Garut, experiences logistics inefficiencies that cause substantial expenses and less than optimal routing. Using two popular Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP) methods (the Nearest Neighbor and Saving Matrix), this study sets out to minimize transportation costs and travel distance in order to optimize distribution routes. Saving Matrix method builds distance matrix, locates cost-saving prospects by consolidating routes, and assigns deliveries according to vehicle volume. The Nearest Neighbor decreased transportation costs by 65.59% and reduced traveling distance by 1,500 km, according to findings. The Saving Matrix method reduced the cost by 65.62% and the distance travelled by 1,518 km. Both approaches improved logistics efficiency, but the Saving Matrix showed a small advantage. These findings offer data-informed insights to help organizations minimize costs through optimized distribution while providing higher quality service.
